We went here for my sisters post-grad dessert session lol. The place is busy, a local favorite i’m assuming cos it was PACKED when we went. They’ve got loads of ice creams, milkshake, root beer floats, sundaes, waffles… it’s really extensive… but everything is on point. The ice cream they have is supplied from Wisconsin Ice Cream Shoppe… and it’s DEEEELISH. We had the zanzibar ice cream, pistachio nut. and 3 shakes, called the Nutella Roche. Let me tell you guys… it was like a cold, creamy and liquid version of a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. They mixed two flavors(zanzibar chocolate and peanut butter cup) and it was easily the best milkshake i’ve ever had, in my entire life. I could drink it every single day and i’d never get tired of it! The shop is set up nicely so theres an area with sofas to relax and other tables + chairs. They have random board games scattered around the tables… some ppl were playing Connect Four or Battleship lol. I can’t wait to go here again sometime soon. It was mind-blowing.

I just about died and went to heaven yesterday — the Peanut Butter Paradise sundae is as good as it gets — Zanzibar ice cream, peanut butter sauce, and peanut butter cups, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry.

I went here today and me and my dad were the only ones in the store whoo hoo! We love ice cream so we were excited to try this place out. The place itself is pretty big and there were a lot of empty seats and tables. I like the ice cream and donut décor embracing the window display, it was super cute and made me want to come inside and check out the shop. There was a little corner with board games if you wanted to play board games while eating your ice cream. They have 32 flavors to choose from and the people who worked there were super nice and told us that we can sample the flavors. They not only had 32 flavors of ice cream but they also had soy flavors, sherbet, Italian ice, milkshakes, sundaes, drinks, and even cookies(whoa!). Keep in mind when ordering, the portions are HUGE. A junior is a single scoop, a single is a double scoop, and a double is a triple scoop. My dad ordered the flight which was $ 7(4 scoops!) of Cappuccino Break, Malt Amore, Cake Batter Fudge, and Coconut. I got the single(around $ 5) with Munchie Madness(cake batter with M&M’s and peanut butter cups) and Horchata with a waffle cone($ 1 extra). Like I mentioned earlier, the single is a double scoop but the portion was huge and equivalent to around 5 scoops! My dad and I surprisingly ate all of our ice cream, which was delicious and cheap! I just wish parking wasn’t so hard but otherwise, we will definitely come back for more ice cream!

I just walked a mile to come here for ice cream after looking up their sunday hours on Unilocal. They close at 10 pm. They apparently dont change their hours in between«summer» and«non-summer» on Unilocal. This was an etremely frustrating encounter considering I showed up 5 minutes after they actually closed. I explained that I read the Unilocal hours to the person at the door and there were 15+ people in line but she turned me away. Absolutely absurd and as someone who has spent a lot of time in the hospitality industry Id consider it bad customer service.

Went since I had a Popular Pays. Got an espresso bourbon ice cream and it was DIVINE. For that alone, I would come back. But otherwise, there’s not much here that left me in love. Just your average ice cream place.

Holy cannoli(though they don’t serve cannoli), this place is a sweet favorite spot. Their ice creams are original and just the right amount consistency, I like thick and creamy but not as thick as custard. their customer service is always great, though it can get pretty busy in the summer and on weekends. Parking stinks but that’s all of Andersonville. The fat Elvis ice cream is a personal fav.

My absolute favorite Ice Cream place! They always have a huge variety of Ice Cream flavors and their serving size are VERY generous. I can only ever get the kid size. Ultimate favorite flavor is the the You so Salty… perfect combo of salty and sweet.

If you have a big crowd, this place is great to bring in your family, friends, your friend’s friends and more. If you didn’t get it, its super spacious. [Warning]: Parking is hard to find. There are lots of variety to choose from, your palate won’t be disappointed. There’s also sweet selection if you want a quite sugar high. My favorite flavors are: Salted caramel and Fat Elvis mhmm.

One word: BOMB! So delicious and tasty. Great place to grab dessert after dinner. It’s definitely an ice cream wonderland with a variety of flavors to pick from. Upon arrival, every seat in the store was taken and there was already a line so you know that’s a signal for it must be good! The counter girl was very helpful and she even let us try multiple flavors before we decide which flavor was the one. I ended up picking fat Elvis which had banana peanut butter and chocolate which is the best combinations ever. It was also perfect timing too because once we got our ice cream, a table opened up and we got the privilege to sit down. I It’s such a cute little ice cream shop to hang out and and there were people even playing games. The vibe at this ice cream parlor is so welcoming. Definitely will be back!

I’m normally not an ice cream person. Since I have tried you salty, I had a free ice cream in 2 weeks. That means I’m eating it everyday.. love it…

Short and sweet and maybe a lil’salty too. Pretty big layout with not only tubs of fresh ice cream, but a counter of baked cakes and cookies too! Salted caramel with chunks of cashews #yousalty in ice cream form is now a compliment. Banana cream pie tastes fantastic too. I really enjoyed the texture and flavor. One of the days are half off, but I forget which day, I’m ok with paying price on this. Access to the outdoor patio is connected to the comic book store. Look for the secret alley way!

Ahhh what an old establishment. This place has been around for a long time. They also have a room in the back for private events. They flavors they offer here are pretty much classics and oldies. Nothing fancy like the artisanal creameries back in California(i.e. lavender and rose). With that said, their ice cream is pretty good. I got the pumpkin flavored mixed with ginger snaps, and it was delicious!

what’s there not to like… chocolate shoppe ice cream from madison — my favorite black cherry ice cream now served in the city — comfy couches, board games and baked goods for those who don’t like frozen treats(i.e. cake balls!). love.

This is a fine place for ice cream. If you’re in the area and are in the mood for the something sweet, this place is worth considering. However, I felt that there wasn’t anything that really made it stand out. The flavors were good and priced reasonably, so it’s good for the money. Also, there is ample seating area if you are coming with friends. It’s good, but not great.

«You salty!» If I were a novelist, I can only imagine the types of characters, situations, and places that would make those words come alive. But in my simple world of «I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,» those words – your name – are the only ones that come to my nervous tongue as my eyes absorb your creamy caramel texture; the only words I can purr as I run my tongue across your salty chocolate stripes; the only words that will pass through my lips as they absorb your salty caramel flavor; the only words that can pass my teeth as they nibble on your salty cashews, and the only words that I can sigh with resignation as I suck the last bit of melted goodness from the bottom of the moist sugar cone in which I held you. Oh, «You salty.» You live in a tasteful, chef-inspired equivalent of a beauty pageant runway; yet after ogling all the others, and sampling quite a few, my heart remains with you. Even after taking home a pint of your goodness, I still didn’t tire of you. You sweet. «You salty.» I only have ice, in my freezer, for you.

Key word: PRICEY!(Bobtail and Windy City Sweets offer bigger portions for same price) Worth a 20min drive? NOPE I was a fan at first but after exploring many other ice cream shops in the city, this is no longer my top three. The ice cream brand they sell is called«Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream» which is made in Madison, WI. Their are three shops in/near Chicago that are actually named«Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream» that sell this brand(Skokie, Forest Park, and one on the outskirts of Chicago). Besides that, George’s is the only one I know that is not named«Chocolate Shoppe» that sells it. I love their service because they are super patient. My friend basically sampled half their ice creams and they weren’t even bothered by it. They just kept asking if he wanted to try something else. They were super inviting. They also reply to every comment you make in the most polite way possible. Almost as if the owner tells them they should always be the last one to respond. Pretty cool. Their service alone won me over. Another huge plus is that they are not underemployed. The line moves fast even though it looks long. I got 2 scoops of «Heaps of love» with Oreo, Nuts, and M&M toppings. It was good but, their scoops are SMALL. Something to note is that they keep rotating their ice cream flavors. So what they sell today may not be their tomorrow. I just wish it wasn’t as PRICEY. It has a very chill ambiance and I have to mention the restrooms because it smells like cake. I don’t know how they do that, but the smell of cake is so strong you can’t smell anything else. I know I’m weird for pointing that out but usually any restrooms in the city are disgusting and smell like pee. So this stood out to me.

Great ice cream shop if your in the area. Cake desserts also. The ice cream is Ice Cream Shoppe ice cream. I wouldn’t drive out of my way to visit but if you’re in the immediate area this is a great place to relax in the coffee shop style seating while the kids play hop scotch on the pattern in the floor. Parking situation is brutal in the area.

My whole next paycheck will likely go to this place. We stopped in for some ice cream. Loads of options though, we opted for just cones, but next time, it’s a sundae for sure! Junior cone was plenty to fill us up after dinner, and the flavor options were almost endless(tank goodness for sample spoons and patient staff!). The beau got the best mint chocolate chip he’s ever had(with oreo bits instead of chocolate chips… yum!) and I got«blue moon» which is described as the flavor of fruit loops milk(true!). Super polite staff, lots of tables, free wifi, no complaints here!

George’s is a must-stop for me any time I’m hanging out in Andersonville. It’s a really spacious ice cream parlor with tons of tables and even some couches for you to lounge on and enjoy your ice cream. It’s in a great location right on Clark in the heart of Andersonville too! They offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors that change over time. I had an amazing super blueberry one the first time I ever visited. I also tried one of their pre-set sundaes that had everything chocolate all piled into a bowl. DELICIOUS! It’s hard enough to choose a flavor or two without even considering all of the sundaes and shakes they offer too. Service has always been extremely friendly every time I’ve been. Definitely try a few flavors before deciding which ones you’re going to devour. 5 stars for this great ice cream shop!
