I went in feeling ashamed and embarrassed that I’d let myself fall into such a bad financial state. But Lizette Jaramillo and the rest of the staff were very helpful. They did not judge me. They explained to me and understood that people sometimes go through hard times and that its Ok to ask for help. I was met with great compassion and we are on our way to helping me have a better financial future.

I’m not one to write reviews about services I receive… however, I just came from the office of Peter Francis Geraci and it was a terrible experience. I felt racially profiled and demeaned.
I had a scheduled appointment for 12 PM to see an attorney at 55 E Monroe. When I arrived, I approached the front desk to sign in. The person at the front desk verified my appointment and proceeded to ask me for paperwork. I asked how long it will be because the attorney I had the appointment with took on another client. I explained that I was on lunch. What I didn’t explain was that when I previously made the appointment, it was my 2^nd appointment and I was told that it would not be an issue during my lunch.
The guy at the front desk (Matt), told me that it would be long. This is when it went completely downhill. As he went down the list to ask me what did I bring for my second appointment, he was very curt and made condescending remarks. For example: Him — «Do you have copies of your paycheck?» Me — «Yes» (gives it to him), Him — «Great… double sided, this will take a while.» After the 3^rd remark, I asked him for his name, to give me my paperwork back and to let me speak to a supervisor. Of course, once again, he had to say another smart remark. He told me that I would have to wait because the supervisor that I’m requesting is the attorney that I had an appointment with.
At this point, I called the 800 number to complain about this employee. Matt comes out of the office to hand me more paperwork to sign. I told him that I did not want to speak to him and I asked for my own paperwork back for a reason. I’m on the phone making a complaint and this guy stands there to taunt me. He is making remarks while I’m on the phone. I don’t know what he said to the attorney when he went back into the office because I heard the attorney yelling. The attorney said, «If she has to wait, she will wait because I’m going to lunch!»
Another attorney comes out to speak to me, with the same paperwork I turned away from Matt. At this point, I don’t want to even have any interaction with anyone in the office but I spoke with him. I told him it’s unprofessional the way I’m being spoken to.
Long story short, my original attorney did apologize. He did say that they’ve had problems with Matt and I was the 3^rd person to complain about him this week. He also said that Matt gave him another impression. I did get the feeling that this Matt felt like nothing would happen to him and he would not be reprimanded.
