So of course when people think Giordanos, they think of the typical deep dish pie. And I’m no different in the aspect that it was the only type of pizza I’d ever tried from Giordanos, until now! I have a spot that I frequent for pizza and it’s amazing, but on this particular day, I wanted something a bit thicker, but not deep dish. My boyfriend suggested the thin crust, which isn’t super thin. What a winner… the crust was the perfect blend that I was looking for and the amount of cheese gave me the in between amount as well that I was wanting. The cheese was thick and buttery… I just kept going back. We finished a whole large just between the two of us. I’m totally ashamed to say that. Lol

My cousins were in town for vacation and really wanted to go to Giordano’s so we went to the one closest to us which happened to be this one. While the food was good, the experience was unpleasant. We started with some beers; I ordered a 312 and a cousin of mine ordered a bud light. The waitress brought back two beers that looked identical so immediately I thought, «she brought two bud lights» but decided to taste it since maybe I was wrong, but I wasn’t. Me to Waitress: «I think this is bud light» Waitress: «No its 312, I served it from 2 different taps» Me: «Well, it doesnt taste like it. It tastes like bud light» Waitress: «It’s 312» During that short exchange she responded to me with an attitude. I told her maybe they have the wrong keg, and she went to the back to check and brought back another small glass of «312» which tasted like bud light with a small amount of 312. And she continued to tell me I was wrong and it was 312. She asked if I wanted something else so I asked for a sam adams. I thought that was the end of the whole beer thing… it wasn’t. Another table ordered 312 and she came back to tell me that«they’re 312 drinkers and they say it’s fine». I saw the pitcher they had and it looked the way it is supposed to look which was completely different than what she served me. I’m no beer connoisseur but you don’t have to be to tell the difference between 312 and bud light. So if you do go to Giordano’s just avoid this location unless you want to feel like you’re in one of those restaurants where servers are supposed to be rude to you.

I went here over the summer with my sister. It was our first time in Chicago, and people suggested this place. I’m glad we took their suggestion, this restaurant was nice and the pizza was decent, now I can say I’ve finally had Chicago style pizza.

I was there with a group of friends who were visiting from out of town and wanted to try Giordano’s. I guess other people have told them about this pizzeria in Chicago and they really wanted to try it. I’m a fan of Giordano’s pizza already so they didn’t have to twist my arm too much! We ordered 3 different deep dish pizzas and everything was good with the pizza(love their pizza) however the service at this location is what I wasn’t too impressed with. We almost had to go hunt down our waitress in order to get something ordered(even more pop or the check). We were kept waiting around for far too long after we were done eating however I didn’t want to bother saying anything to the waitress… I know where other Giordano’s are located!

Ordered salads. Greek salad was missing the main thing that makes it a Greek salad: feta cheese. House salad was missing tomatoes. The salad items were just thrown on. Not pretty to look at(toppings were essentially on the bottom and lettuce on top). I feel like an extra 30 seconds spent on the salads could have improved presentation and reduced mistakes. Pizza was really good. That saved this review. The waitress brought the missing ingredients after we notified it to her.

Disappointed at best. Restaurant was 40% full and I watched three other tables walk out before their food came. Our meal came 75min after the 45 min it was supposed to take(that’s right, 2hrs for thin crust pizza). On top of it, the bathrooms had clogged toilets and missing toilet paper. Won’t be coming back here and will likely avoid all Giordono’s going forward.

I love this location. It’s perfect to take people when they visit. We still get the goodness of real chicago deep dish, but without the crazy wait like if we were in the downtown area.

What a great dining experience! The staff is so welcoming and inviting, it was lovely walking into such a warm environment. The service was excellent, Lily took great care of my friend and I. We really enjoyed our meal. The food was good and I will be back.

Showed up at around nine pm so it wasn’t very busy at all in the restaurant. We got seated right away but that is the only fast thing that happened in this restaurant. We sat there for about 15 – 20 mins before the manager came to our table and asked if we had been helped. And said no. So she took our food order and we asked about our drinks and she stated that she would send a server. So we waited another ten minutes and no server came. So I walked to the front where the manager was standing and I asked if someone was going to take our drink order because we have been sitting there for more then thirty minutes and don’t even have a drink! So she came back to the table and took our drink order and had a busser bring us our drinks another five minutes later. Would it be so bad for her to actually go back and get our drinks herself. Would have been a lot faster that way but maybe that is below her pay grade. On the menu it says to allow 45 minutes for the pizza but our pizza did not come out for 1 hour and 45 minutes. So by the time it came out we already didn’t care for it and were already disappointed in their service. So I cannot really give a good review on the food. But the Cesar salad was nothing special. But there must have been like three other smaller parties in the restaurant. And I am usually really patient and understanding in restaurants because I know it’s hard but this was completely unreasonable and the manager made matters worse rather than fixing it. Will never go back to this location!!! Worst location ever

We started with the bruschetta and and the sampler. I can’t count the amount of times my friends and I said wow! Everything was perfect. We will be returning next year when we come back. This was our carb loading before the Chicago marathon. Worth every bite. Love love love

My boyfriend came to visit me from LA and really wanted to come to this place to try famous Chicago deep dish pizza. While the pizza itself was wonderful(and so were the microwaved leftovers) the time that it took was awful. I completely understand that they are extremely busy but it took almost an hour for our pizza once we ordered it. I just hope that they accept less people in a busy time so that food orders can come out in an orderly manner.

If you have never had Chicago style pizza, don’t try it at this location! Go to a different Giordano’s! Not my favorite Giordano’s by all means. I was house sitting in Lakeview and decided to get a deep dish pizza for me and a friend(Giordano’s is his favorite). Google estimated a 6 minute drive or a 17 minute walk to the location, so I chose delivery. I placed the order at 7:23pm on a Tuesday and was told there would be an hour to hour and 10 minutes wait until the delivery arrived. The pizza arrived at 8:42pm and was extremely cold. When we cut it, there were no cheese strings attached to the pizza cutter. It separated like triangular bricks. We had to warm our slices up prior to eating. Normally, I expect for my pizza deliveries to be tiny bit cold, yet this was just unacceptable… especially due to the short distance. Also the quality of the pizza just wasn’t what I was used to. The sauce was skimpy and the crust was thinner than other locations. I wont be placing a second order at this location.

I had to give this place more than one star because the pizza was delicious, but the service is a whole other issue. The wait wasn’t the bad part, I expected to wait, but once we sat down, the experience was awful. Took 10 minutes for a drinks … and they were just waters. Never got silverware. Never got napkins. I had to get up and get my Own napkins. Had to have my husband go get the pitcher of water and refill our tables waters. We waited 90minutes for our pizza, and our server NEVER came to check on us during that time. You would think the manager would make their rounds to tables during such a busy weekend with it being a holiday weekend and post-Cubs… But no. Not at all.

Hands down the worst customer service experience ever. But As many other reviews point out, the staff here couldn’t care less how they treat their customers. Showed up around the late lunch hour to get some grub. I saw they had a lunch special that cut off at 3pm and I knew I had a little time to spare. Was seated by an aloof host who looked at us as if he had no idea why we walked in the door. We perused the menu for a few mins and were ready to order. Starved to order. Oh yeah and maybe 3 other people were in the entire restaurant patronizing the place. We repeatedly turned around to look at the host and his female companion only to be repeatedly ignored. It got to the point, after 10 minutes of their nonsense, that we physically had to get up and ask if we could be serviced. At this point, their lack of attentiveness made us go way past he 3pm lunch deal cutoff. Thanks guys. After asking to simply be serviced as we had been sitting for a long time with no regard from anyone, the host reacted as if this was an absurd request and then went into the back kitchen area. It took him minutes. MINUTES, multiple… before anyone even emerged. It was so bizarre, unprofessional and lazy that we just stood up and told them to not bother sending a waiter over and that we would be going elsewhere. They couldn’t have cared less. But that seems to be a trend with this location. It’s a shame that a place with such great food is overshadowed by its horrendous employees and lack of work ethic.

I noticed most of the lower rated reviews were due to the service. We had no problem with the service here but the pizza was nothing like we anticipated. We had been wanting to try this for a very long time and it was basically the only thing we really planned on doing together while in Chicago. I’m in California, we have our share of lousy pizza and the rare occasional good one. My idea of a delicious pizza is lots of cheese, light sauce and a good crust: fluffy inside, slightly crisp outside and buttery. My friend came from NY, and knows good pizza. She was aware that it could be bad by comparison, but we were both craving and anticipating this pizza for so long, and figured so many people who love it couldn’t be wrong! There was no wait to sit down, and we already knew it would take awhile for the pizza to cook, and the server let us know. Our appetizers came first, the best of it being the garlic cheese bread which was really nothing special. The mushrooms, ravioli and fried cheese triangles tasted like they’ve been sitting around all day and re-heated. The pizza arrived and I can honestly say we were not impressed. The center of it was approx. ¼ of an inch, nothing like pictured on the menu or on the videos we had seen. The crust was tall, but very hard and actually tasted like very dry crackers. There was no flavor and no fluffy bread substance inside. My friend was okay with the crust, I didn’t like it. My friend grabbed the spatula and dug into the first slice. I was taking a video, expecting the cheese to ooze out and stretch as she pulled the slice away. Total disappointment, no cheese stretch! She took her first bite and gagged. I took my first bite… didn’t gag, but the crust and sauce were not good. I did love the cheese, she didn’t. She likes 100% mozzarella but it seemed this cheese had other types blended in. I liked the flavor and the texture of the cheese, just wish there was more of it as advertised. It is also super heavy so beware if you plan to take home leftovers and not traveling by car.

Holy shit. I understand working in a restaurant can be pretty demanding sometimes… but after being completely ignored for 10 mins after being seated by the most passive hostess ever, then to have our waiter not even introduce them-self just a quick«STUFFEDPIZZAWILLBE45MINS» and running off, THEN(oh it gets worse) the same waiter going to two neighboring tables and have a complete mental breakdown in front of them… My boyfriend and I decided to leave. As we were walking out our waiter started mumbling behind us saying«Oh great fine I was just about to take your order but okay». We were so uncomfortable the moment walking in until we left that leaving our umbrella on a night where it was pouring was totally worth not going back inside. I almost feel bad for the waiter because I understand a lot could have been going on behind the scenes but that was a totally unacceptable. Will never go back.

This only my second time having true Chicago pizza in Chicago. I notice this pics is actually deeper than the others, is also cheesier and the crust is more buttery which makes for great pizza. If your a cheese lover I would recommend this place. I very much enjoyed this pizza and am thinking of buying it to take home to my family in California. The place is large, great for groups, indoor(no patio seating), only a half mile from wrigley field and a lot of other restaurants and shops.

It didn’t start well. I called in advance to carry out. After initially being put on hold for about 2 minutes(a long time for just ordering takeout!) I ordered a small chicago classic. I was told that there was a 45 minute wait for the pizza, which was surprising as when I went into the restaurant 45 minutes later there were literally 3 people dining in. To its credit, the pizza was pretty good. VERY cheesy, although lacking a little in the quantity of topping. At first I thought $ 20 for a small pizza was a bit of a ripoff. A small here is not small. You get six slices and I was stuffed after 2 and a half. Each slice is an inch of melted cheese and half an inch of pastry and sauce. You definitely won’t be hungry leaving.
