We have been to Gio’s now three times. The first time was good. The last two not so much. Last night we went for wings, Thursday is a special. The bartender tried to charge us $ 8 for ranch and $ 16 for veggies to go along with our wings. After a laugh he changed it. But placed blame on their computer system. Never actually apologized for the mistake. Today we decided to go back because it’s close to home. The bartender tonight was absolutely atrocious. We ordered and it took 40 minutes to get a grilled cheese and 3 sliders. The bartender who was also working the patio walked past us 4 times before asking if we needed another round(my glass was empty all four time s she passed). When the order came out the grilled cheese was missing the tomato that we ordered. It wasn’t until we were half way done with said grilled cheese that she came to check on how the food was. At which point we said that the grilled cheese was missing the tomatoe. Her response in a sarcastic tone was«it does. I put it on the order». Causing us to prove our point and open the grilled cheese for her to inspect. NOW they were pleasant enough to take off the grilled cheese, even though all we asked was for the tomato to be taken off the ticket. When we finally got our check it was slammed down to emphasize our time in the bar was over. We had so much hope for this place as we have gone to a couple other bars and the food wasn’t great, but the decent food doesn’t make up for the service we received. We will not be going back for sure!

I like Gios as my «friendly» neighborhood bar and grill where families… friends…everyone hangs out. but today wasn’t SOFRIENDLYATALL … I walked in to grab a drink after work and bartender didn’t even acknowledge me … He was too busy texting on his phone … After he notice me he was NOTPLEASANTATALL. I was the one being friendly to him. They usually have friendly bartenders so I was very disappointed… this is why businesses close and go bankrupt. We the costumers appreciate good service. I was so nice I even left him a tip. I don’t think I can hang out with my family and friends here if are we treated that way.

Food was fine, the patio was nice, but when we ran our cards for the check we were told not to forget to tip. That’s pretty repugnant.

We love this place! It’s our standard neighborhood joint and I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them yet. What isn’t there to love about this place? The patio is great. The service is predictably good(it helps that the bartenders now know us). They have decent daily specials(can’t go wrong with a $ 5 burger). Decent beer list. They show all of the major sports games we’d care to catch. The food is decent. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s amazing, but I wouldn’t expect that from a neighborhood corner bar. It’s good for what it is and there isn’t anything we’ve tried and actually disliked. The southwest burger is a solid choice, as is the buffalo chicken wrap. Keep it up Gio’s. We’ll be back. Probably next week.

Great Dive bar to catch a football game. There was no one there for the start of the superbowl, but filled up quickly. I will say this, the staff was very welcoming, the food was pretty good, but I will have to say the biggest surprise of the night was the cornbread. Amazing… we would have eaten an entire batch of it. Ribs are baked and fall off the bone. I was happy to find this little gem in the neighborhood we were walking around in.

I really want to like Gio’s. It’s near my house and seems like it has a lot of potential. I went there for brunch a few weeks ago and the food and service was horrible. We waited about 10 or 15 minutes before someone asked us if we wanted something to drink. The Bloody Mary’s were tasteless. It was like they dumped a little vodka in with the cheapest tomato juice they could find and tossed in an olive. I’m not extremely picky and I can appreciate good bar food, but this isn’t the place to go. The service was extremely slow and it wasn’t particularly busy, with many open tables. The burger looked/tasted as if it had been frozen previously and had a really unpleasant gray color to it. We were never asked if we wanted another drink until we had sat in disgust for another 15 or 20 minutes after our meal. We passed and asked for the check and waited another 10 or 15 minutes for that. I think we probably spent close to 2 hours there for a burger and a Bloody Mary.

I little disappointed in Gio’s today. I like Gio’s because they’re one of the few places that deliver brunch. The last time I ordered everything was good. Delicious Chilaquiles. However this time, I think they may have been in a hurry. We received our food in about 20 minutes, but I would have rather waited longer to get a better quality lunch. First I ordered an energy drink and we received what could be an energy drink, but it was given to us in a coffee cup, which seems weird. My diet coke was a hot can that is now sitting in my fridge and will be an after brunch refreshment I guess. Second, maybe they were running low on jalapenos cuz neither my boyfriends super nachos or my Mexican Skillet had jalapenos in it. Luckily I have my own. Third the description on my skillet said queso fresco was included on the dish. Not mine. Possibly out of this as well. Fourth: toast was included in my skillet, but no jelly packets. Another first. Any time a restaurant delivers breakfast, they have always given us jelly. I may order from here again and I am hoping this is just a one time occurrence.

This is a decent place to catch a game when the outdoor patio is open. They put a TV out there so you can watch in your own little area. The service was kind of slow the time I went, and the place is pretty small and cramped inside.

Sat there for 15 minutes as multiple people who look like they worked there never approached us. Bit of a dump inside also!

A cool neighborhood corner bar in a yuppie neighborhood. The bar is perfect to walk to if you are in the area and not have to worry about driving drunk. There are several other cool neighborhood bars to choose from and the service and look of this place is on par of bars similar to size and reach. one of the last ones in this area that I have never been too and this bar is opened up late most nights.

Our bachelor party was supposed to get a tour of Kovals and they failed to show up. We ended up walking over to Gio’s and had a wonderful time. The barkeep was the only one working(at least that is how it seemed) and she was on top of her game with the food and drinks – even though we were sitting outside. 10⁄10 would go again.

Beer is good. Great place to watch the hawks win the Stanley cup. Great energy and great service. The food lacks though. Would come back a bunch if they had better food.

The only time I’ve been to Gio’s it was completely dead. I went in the mid afternoon so that’s to be expected. I feel like I can’t really accurately review the place because of this so I’ll just focus on my personal experience. I’d been craving a beer and a cheeseburger and after a long walk through my neighborhood I decided it was time to give Gio’s a try. I’d heard they have good cheap bar food and that’s pretty much what’s on the menu. The beer was reasonable and the burger was the cheapest you can find around here. It wasn’t the best burger I’ve had if I’m being totally honest. They use premade patties but, hey, it’s not like it cost me twelve bucks so I wasn’t disappointed. The food was good and the drinks were plentiful. I’d definitely go back at a busier time with more people.

They have an exceptional brunch menu… better than most and no waits or lines. Amazing experience… at least 50 items to choose from.

Went last week and thought it was a blast. Not sure why people are using Unilocal as a political platform and although it was stupid this isn’t the platform. I think the bartender was funny and unique but whatever. Food was great and the prices were much cheaper than LP/BT with a true bar feel. Try it out

As a patron of Gio’s I have to say it is a decent local bar. I have been many times and never had an issue with service or their food. Pretty good specials during the week to fill your tummy and whet your whistle.

The brunch was delicious as were the nachos hours later. The owner was engaging and the server/bartender was attentive. Very solid bar food, very fair prices and a low key atmosphere that all neighborhood bars should aspire to. After one visit this place has secured itself as my go to neighborhood bar for a beer, brunch or some wings and a burger. Looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend my neighbors give this place a shot. –regarding the negative press they had recently– they could not have been more apologetic in person and expressed how much the community means to them. Very genuine owner who only wants his customers to feel at home and safe in his bar.

Gios is a great neighborhood bar. Their food is awesome, especially their jumbo chicken wing that are only 25 cents on thursday. The patio is nice in the summer and they have Kareoke on Sat nights. Sometimes it gets super packed on that night. I think it has a neighborhoody bar feel, more so than some other bars in the area. Its a great first date place! The mens bathrooms kinda sucks and is divey and they could probably use a better jukebox. All in all, I love Gios.

I was here last week to watch some football with my boyfriend. We wanted someplace close to our apartment and had not visited the establishment in over year. As I remembered the beer selection was amazing. They are one of the few bars that carries 3 Floyds on tap and initially the menus looked excellent. The problem occurred when we ordered food. The chicken strips were soggy and although the brisket had nice texture, the sauce was rather bland. Plus the fries were over-fried. After the meal I remembered why we do not visit this place frequently. I will give the wait staff positive reviews. They were prompt and very friendly. It just stinks we do not have a neighborhood bar with good food and an excellent beer selection. I don’t know if we will make a return trip anytime soon

For watching sports this wouldn’t be my go to bar. But when I want a meal with beer, on a patio! Here I go :) good food, servers are usually good!

I came here based on the positive Unilocal reviews. Went here in the fall during patio season. I’m always excited to try a new burger. However, the burger here was pretty underwhelming. It seemed like it was straight of the Sysco truck. Honestly, I feel guilty leaving a bad review. Maybe it’s a fun local joint to check out if you live down the block. However, the food is not great. Maybe I’ll check it out again just to be sure that it wasn’t a one time thing

I’ve been to this bar twice. Once, a few years ago, in the summer right after the air and water show(how I miss warm weather!), I sat out on the patio, munching on a fancy cheese burger and fries. My cousin had suggested we stop at Gio’s, and I was glad we did. It was tasty! I really enjoyed it. However, I didn’t live in the city the, so I really had no clue where this place was located. A few nights ago, the same cousin wanted to go out to dinner. He suggested Gio’s, and I realized that now, as a city dweller, I lived only a few blocks from this bar! Awesome! Unfortunately, it’s not patio season, so we sat inside this time. And of course, I had another burger. Everything was great, the server was very attentive. I’m happy to now live close to such a great neighborhood bar. We will be back soon!
