Greenfii

We hired Greenfii to install a new nest and fix a second. James was a true professional. He was punctual, articulate, and very knowledgable. He diagnosed the issue with the older nest — which was actually an issue with the HVAC unit — and got it working properly; he then installed the new one. He gave us good information about other home automation products. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Pulled a no-​show at the designated appointment time and no call or follow up.

As you may or may not know, it gets pretty cold in Chicago. Cold enough that buying your girlfriend a thermostat for Christmas is a totally appropriate gift.
After a failed attempt to install a new Nest thermostat for her, I called in Greenfii for help. Not only was James incredibly professional, helpful and knowledgeable — but he gave us a walk through on how to use the thing!

I came across Nest products in a few magazines and also on various TV shows. Ironically, both my smoke and CO detectors were no longer working from being old and cheap so I decided to purchase the combined Nest «Protect» Smoke/​CO detector. I purchased the product itself from the Nest website although when I buy the Nest thermostat I will purchase both the product and install from Greenfii directly. The Nest website lists numerous companies on its website that it has «trained» so I started going down the list and checking if they had a company website, an Angie’s List account, a Unilocal account, etc. The first few companies I found either did not have an Angie’s List account, Unilocal account, or a professional website. I also called two companies that were on the Nest website that stated they never installed a Nest product so I passed on them as well. Greenfii was the next company on the list. They had a Unilocal account with favorable reviews, an Angie’s List account, and a website that seemed up-​to-​date and spoke exclusively about Nest products. I was able to make an appointment online via their website and due to the holidays, the owner (James) actually came out himself to install the product.
James was on-​time, clean, professional, seemed knowledgeable, and also provided me information on other energy/​money saving products without being overbearing/​selling.
I would definitely recommend Greenfii for such services and will purchase both the product and installation services the next time.

Never thought it’d come to the point where getting off of the couch to turn off a light switch feels like a chore, but I’m there.
Greenfii installed everything in my apartment to make life as effortless as possible — or at least lighting, heating/​cooling, locking up and monitoring the apartment while I’m away. The installation took place all while I was at work, and I came home to a quick lesson on operation through my phone and a fully automated abode.
In Chicago’s cold winters, I try to keep the heat down while I’m away but dial it up from my phone to get the apartment nice and cooking before I’m home. I can fall into bed at the end of a long day and hit the «Nightime» scene James set up on my phone. The lights go off, the heat falls to that perfect sleeping temp, doors lock and I’m off to wonderland.
After the success of my lighting, heating and camera setup, I went forth with a remotely automated lock system for my door. No matter where I am, I can lock/​unlock the door — and check to make sure I didn’t forget to — from the phone. I can also let in guests if I’m going to be home in a few minutes — which happens more often than my punctual side would like to admit.
Life is hard enough without having to do things like turn off light switches and manually lock doors! I’d recommend Greenfii’s local home automation option to anyone.
