I’ve gone in here on and off over the years and the guy behind the counter has always been rude and standoffish. Never has anything nice to say. Huge cooler full of ghetto 40oz beers. Seems to cater to the drink-and-drive set. Nicest import or craft beer you’ll find here will be Heineken and Goose Island. The coolers are sparse and often empty. This place used to take credit cards, but not anymore. Who does that? When have you ever seen a merchant stop taking credit cards? Amador Liquors is superior in every way. I won’t be going back to this place.

I agree with the previous reviewers; the guy behind the counter is always a jerk. Guadalajara has a terrible beer selection and high prices, but when you’re in need of beer quickly and conveniently, none of that really matters. What really irks me is that they close pretty much whenever they want. They used to be open until 2 a.m. weekends, but now it’s all up to chance. For example, last month I walked over around 11 on a Saturday and they were already closed. I used to go there when desperate, but I don’t even bother anymore.

The selection is not good. The wine bottles are covered in thick dust. The guy that usually works there is always, always rude to me. I once watched someone else use a credit card, then when I went to pay, he told me that the machine was broken. Fine, don’t take my money. I’ll spend it elsewhere.

This is my usual liquor store. It’s right down 18th from my place, and they carry plenty of Old Style. While the prices aren’t anything to rave about, the people that own it are really nice and it is in a good location(at least for me). The selection can be a little weak if you’re looking for anything outside of the normal domestic beers, but they have an alright wine selection. I am disappointed that you can’t get cases in anything besides beers like Bud Light and Miller Light though. Since I would rather drink urine out of a boot than those products, it kind of sucks. I usually have to end up buying a few sixers of tallies for a night, but whatever. They take credit/debit if your purchase comes to more than $ 10, so that’s kind of helpful, too.

I was really impressed by the wine selection here, they had a Riesling that I like that I can’t always find. The prices aren’t some sort of outrageous deal, but they’re not overpriced either. Good selection of snacks including an ice cream case and they have a decent beer selection as well. I’m sure they do decent business due to their proximity to Nuevo Leon which is BYOB. They also take credit cards unlike some of the other mom and pop liquor stores.
