I went in recently and was incredibly disappointed. The cake selection was very poor, the cupcakes are very overpriced. They no longer make a lot of the treats they used to because they lost their old baker! I BOUGHT a 6″ cake, when I picked it up it was the 8 inch, I speak Spanish that was a deliberate I upgrade! Then I wanted to order cute baby shower cookies, they don’t make them anymore.¤PLUSTHEY charge ten bucks to decorate a cake!!! what a joke. there’s a new bakery called viva on central and diversey(ACROSSFROMALDI). You Are Better TAKING Your Money ANDBUSINESS there!!!

Terrible. I ordered my mom and boyfriend A joint tres leches cake. The lady wrote«decorated nice for man and woman» in Spanish. It cost seventy dollars for a half sheet with strawberries. I almost fell over, I paid ahead. Went to pick it up the next day and they showed it to me, it was the most God awful tackiest thing I ever seen. It was mostly pink with SOME blue in it and had little rings on it(mustache purse) then a shoe and a top hat. I wanted to throw it, but of course since I paid ahead like an idiot and since they spoke no English and I didn’t have the patience to think in Spanish I took it. The car ride back I had it in the passenger seat so when I got home my boyfriend went to pick it up and it was so full of milk that it Soaked through the cardboard box it was in. What a joke, never again!

Don’t let the other bad reviews keep you away from this place. But let this one do it for you! This place absolutely sucks. I speak spanish so it worked out with communicating with them. So I ordered a birthday cake and everything went well ordering wise. I went to pick it up and the cake had a tag on it. Literally on the cake! I asked why was that on their and the chick said it was to identify who’s it is. She went to take it out and literally dug her fingers in the cake and tried to sell it to me with finger holes and everything(it had smeared frosting from I’m assuming it rubbing against the box). I told her I didn’t want it and she didn’t understand why. I ended up going to Mr. Cake which is absolutely awesome and I bought a ready made cake there.

I’ve passed by this place several times before finally deciding to drop by to get some churros. Walking in I was pleasantly surprised by the smell of cake, which was nice. They had a nice selection of cookies, cakes, cupcakes, churros, donuts and also had a number of different drinks as well. I only tried the churros, and that’s the main source of my lack of stars. I was really excited to get churros since I hadn’t had them in a while, but was disappointed when I actually saw them(kind of… not-so-good looking). I thought I’d give them a chance anyway; maybe they’d taste better than they looked? Unfortunately they didn’t taste all that great. The texture wasn’t bad, it had just the right amount of chewiness, but it lacked enough sugar on the outside so it was like eating a fried dough stick that wasn’t very sweet. Good for preventing diabetes, but not so good for my taste buds.

Well I tried again to get the tres leches cake. I called after work and someone who did speak English answered. He said they always had the cakes in stock, I could get one any time. I asked if he could hold a 6″ one for me, and I’d be there in a few minutes. I got there, and the same non English speaking girl was there. She brought my cake out, but it was wrong. It was the 8″ She couldnt understand what I was trying to say at all. How do people run a business when no one speaks English. This is still the USA. Another couple came in wanting something for dessert. Well, that didnt happen because they didnt speak Spanish. They were as appauled as me. I ended up buying individual pieces of the cake. It was good. The bakery did seem to have a good selection of pastries and breads. However, I cant shop there because no one speaks English.
