Bad sushi. Only time in my life I’ve ever asked for my money back for sushi.

Ordered Pad See Ewe and Pad Thai TWICE. Both experiences have been wonderful! $ 2 delivery fee and $ 12 minimum — nothing in this area beats that! The first time I ordered was late at night around 9 pm(a few weeks ago) when none of the other Thai places around were able to deliver except Hello. Though it did take some time to get to me, I wasn’t surprised considering the weather circumstances and the time I ordered it at. Regardless, food was hot and tasty! Second time was during lunch hour around 1 pm yesterday. That was the quickest delivery I have ever seen for any place I’ve ordered Thai from! Food was pipping hot and so delicious. I love the flavors they infuse their noodles with. I could eat the noodles without any meat(which does happen since I tend to eat most of it until I get to the last few bites) Definitely has not been a let down any of the times I’ve ordered and will most likely be my go-to place from now on. I have yet to try their red curry thai which is a staple for me at any Thai place. Will update my review after trying that!

Don’t order from here, this place is a joke. Whoever it was that took our order told us that our order would take 35 minutes. An hour after we ordered, we called back and asked for a status on our order and the the person who answered let us know that they were really busy and she had said she stated that it would be 75 minutes, but it was on its way. Another half hour passes with no food and we give a call back and the lady said«it should be on its way.» To top it all off, our order taker disputed that we were getting the time of the order incorrect. Let alone, she admitted that she lied to us. Terrible service, and if you read the other reviews here, the food probably isn’t worth it either.

This place gets a(–0) from me. It was Monday night and they were not super busy. Me and two other girls walked in and were seated right away. We ordered three different types of appetizers(crab rangoon, fried tofu and veg spring rolls) which were fine. For the main course, we ordered chicken w/veg, thai fried rice w/chicken, veg crispy sweet potato maki and two other kinda of roll. Our server first brought out the sushi rolls and they were okay. I had experienced better, but I was disappointed with the thai entrée. As soon as I tasted the chicken, I knew it was not fresh. It smelled like a rotten food. I called my server and complained that the chicken is smelly. She said the chicken was fresh and there was nothing wrong with it. At that point, I had it enough and didn’t argue with her. I Asked for my check. I had half of the sushi rolls sitting on table and both of the thai entrée. She didn’t ask if I wanted carry out boxes. The only think I liked that she didn’t charge me for the thai entrée. But where are your customer service skills? No apologies, No Thank you !

I really liked this place when I lived on Devon 4 years ago. I picked up food recently and it wasn’t as good. Not to say it was BAD, but the sushi rice was really mushy(maybe was made days prior, definitely not fresh) and the seaweed salad had a weird after taste. The crab Rangoon, Tom kHa soup, and egg rolls were some of the best I’ve had. So I guess the items are hit or miss.

I’m not sure if this place has been around for a long time, but I used to live in this neighborhood and never noticed it the entire four years I lived nearby. It wasn’t until this year that I happened to notice it on GrubHub and ordered there. Cons: The miso soup is disgusting. I keep trying to give it a chance. I’ve microwaved it to make it hotter. I’ve tried it spicy. I’ve tried it plain. The leaves are slimy like okra, and it always tastes like leftovers. I really like miso soup though so I keep trying to give the place a chance. I’m done as of today. It was the worst ever tonight. Pros: I love their maki rolls. I’ve had the vegetable version(cucumber and avocado), the plain avocado and really love their tofu fried rice. I got the peanut tofu dish once, but it arrived to me so cold and even after I microwaved it, it still just didn’t taste like much. I wish they had sweet potato maki rolls without all the extra stuff. It’s a decent restaurant. I went inside one time to pick up an order and got expressions from the staff like, «What is she doing in here?» The delivery guys, however, are super pleasant. When I want a quick delivery, they’re my go-to, but I’ve definitely had better food from other places.

Worse customer service ever!!! They are not willing to make things right for the customer. I ordered«pad talay» with chicken and add tofu. Instead they made it tofu with extra tofu. I also ordered a «lard na» not spicy, but they made it spicy with plenty of chilies. They won’t admit they did anything wrong but asked me to deal with , a service similar to Grubhub. Fortunately, they are willing to help me with patience. I showed them picture as proof of my order and they can refund me the spicy dish because they can clearly see the extra chilies. Eat24 also provided with additional coupons for future visit to Hello Sushi. But hell no, why would I go back to a place where people is not nice to me, right? Dealing with this has left me and my wife hungry for 35 minutes. So we threw everything in the garbage and went to Giordano’s and happily full afterward. I would give a ½ star, but this is not possible.

Disgusting. This is the first time I tried them and it will be my last. I thought I would treat myself to delivery. Too bad I decided to try this place. It was really disgusting. I ordered pepper steak which should be full of flavor but it was completely tasteless… and Canned mushrooms??? Really!!! I also got the fresh spring rolls which were just awful. They just had rice and tofu… nothing else. What’s fresh about that?

I used to love coming here for their sushi. However, over time the place has slightly gone down hill. First off, I will say that in the beginnning of my relationship with HELLO was good! I thought all of the sushi was phenomenal. My top three faves were the Spider Maki, the Nightcrawler, and the Dragon. NOW, the menu has changed completely, and all of my faves, except for the Dragon are gone. I understand that certain restaurants from time to time will change things up, and switch menu items around. However, other new specialty roles that I have tried are just not that good at all. I have not had any of the Thai entrees, as I just would always go there for the sushi. I must say, their sea weed salad is very good! Get it every time I go. Oh, and it’s BYOB! The service is always mediocre. The girls who work there don’t speak a lick of English, which is not the biggest concern of mine, as you can easily just point to a menu item, and they then know exactly what you want. Other than that, the service is just okay. I live on Ridge in West Rogers Park, so I typicaly just drive there. It’s located right on Devon and Clark, and you would think the parking would be bad, or could be bad, especially on a weekend night, but it never is! That is the one convenient thing about going to dinner at HELLO, is if you have a bad dinner, at least you don’t have to walk a mile to your car! There is almost always parking right in front of the restaurant. Overall, I will be a frequent visitor to HELLO if they bring back some of my favorite Maki!

Good sushi and good service. There was nothing really spectacular about it, but nothing I really disliked either.

This place gets worse each time we get food from there. We started going there the first week they opened as we lived in the neighborhood. Even after moving 3 miles away we kept going back but no more. Their sushi stinks. The prices are inflated beyond the Jewel grocery store equivalent rolls. We’re done and by the look of the place the last couple times so are they.

Unfortunately did not have a great experience here. Ordered delivery through grub hub. Requested two thai dishes and an appetizer intended to feed two people. The wrong order was delivered to me — an order of sushi. The quantity of food was not comparable to what I ordered for two, and quite frankly it wasn’t that delicious. When I called the restaurant about the order mix up they said they knew about it but didn’t offer to fix it, provide a credit, etc. but just blamed the driver. Won’t be going back.

It’s just a bummer. It’s so close to me and I’d love to love it but it’s just not good. I have given it SO many tries. Like, I kinda feel stupid that I keep expecting it to be better but it just isn’t. This is the 3rd time I received cold food and I am LITERALLY one block away. They put no veggies in the food. Since when does Pad See Eiw not have broccoli? Today, my last time ever ordering from here, I thought I’d trick them into getting more veggies. I ordered a veggie dish and added meat. I still got way more meat than veggies and barely any veggies at all. I paid $ 10 for that dish and it was pathetically tiny too. I’m officially done. It’s not like there aren’t more Thai places close and since I get cold food and it takes an hour for it to get here when I live a block away, I can probably wait an hour and get better food from elsewhere.

I love the rama chicken here. Usually. I really like the sweet potato maki. I don’t eat in the restaurant much these days as I usually do take-out, but it’s really nice in there. Customer service is excellent in both cases.

I had a really good experience ordering from here. I was able to locate this fine restaurant on grub hub and ordered for delivery. The menu is easily navigated and the prices are more than reasonable. The food even came back sooner than I anticipated! I ordered the Philadelphia rolls and they were pretty tasty. The only thing that somewhat irked me was that they didn’t follow my delivery instructions and instead of calling me they rang the doorbell(which be somewhat hard to hear sometimes). Overall, I really enjoyed the food, pricing, and quick delivery! Will certainly have again.

I’m just not that into you. It pains me to say it because any friend of GrubHub is a friend of mine. You sounded good on paper but when I picked you up, you looked a bit different than your description. I try not to judge a book by the cover because it’s all about the insides and not the outside, right? I was sad when I discovered your substance was just as ugly as your appearance. I’m sorry, but I don’t think we will be having another rendezvous. I paid $ 30 on Grub Hub for 4 rolls, 3 of them quite basic. I love sweet potato rolls — so much so that I ordered 2 right off the bat from Hello Sush for $ 6 eachi. It’s hard for me to talk smack about a local business with lovely employees(the girl was very sweet when I picked up my food), but being completely honest it was the worst sweet potato roll I’ve ever had. It didn’t have much flavor and I just wasn’t into it. The description said spicy mayo and cream cheese and I think both were lacking or they put in a tiny tab — not enough to add anything to the roll. I didn’t even finish the second sweet potato roll, which for me is like food disrespect… how dare a soul not finish all put in front of them?! Waste not, want not — starving children in Africa — don’t be rude & finish everything — etc. etc. etc. The shiitake mushroom roll was actually quite tasty. I’m not sure what they soaked the mushrooms in but it added to the flavor. This roll was just $ 4 so not badly priced either. Unfortunately it had an issue of being very poorly constructed. It was so loosely rolled that when I picked it up, it nearly fell completely apart. I also got a roll which I don’t see on their website menu but was on their GrubHub menu which may explain why it wasn’t made according to what they listed. I ordered a Philly roll which was again supposed to have a spicy mayo but no spice nor mayo was on it. One good thing with Hello Sushi is there is a bit of parking right outside which makes it easy to pick up!

The Massaman curry was okay but certainly not as flavorful as others. I’m going to assume that sushi is more of their forte… Delivery was quick veggie tempura okay. Miso soup to save the day. Overall meh.

If you’re looking for thai, as others have said, there are many other options in the area you should try. I ordered their pad thai for lunch and it was the most bland pile of noodles I’ve ever tasted. Others have also noted issues with delivery. My delivery took nearly 90 minutes, and 30 minutes longer than they had quoted. Keep looking.

Cute establishment. My friend and I walked in a little before the kitchen was closing. We quickly scanned the menu and placed out order. So glad that we got our order in in time. Food was delicious! We ordered a variety of things. Some sushi, noodle dish, and a curry dish. We shared and both enjoyed it all. There are many Thai places in the area, but this one just moved up higher on my list of going to again.

I’ve only gotten take away twice so my review is based on that. Although, they do provide very friendly service while I’ve waited. I’s always a nice touch when I’m brought a glass of water while waiting! The noodle dishes I have tried are better than the sushi. I wasn’t blown away by the spicy tuna. The portions for the noodle dishes are decent and the flavor is wonderful. Yesterday I got the Thai puff which was something like coconut custard baked in a cute little ceramic bowl. Pretty tasty and impressive since now I have 3 cute little bowls to keep!
