This guy was my doctor about a decade ago and, after a year or so of annoying«care,» I luckily found a better doctor. To paraphrase nearly every assessment he made of my health: «You are experiencing [insert random health concern] because you are overweight. If you lose weight, all of your problems will go away.» Um, yeah. I get that I’m overweight. And I get that problems like foot pain or something might be related to my weight. But a random cold? Chicken pox? An infection from a cut on my finger? Intense menstrual cramps? My weight caused all that? Really? Puh-leez! And on the topic of menstrual cramps: This guy appeared to be one of those male doctors who doesn’t believe menstrual cramps even exist.(But, on the off chance they do, apparently only fat women suffer from them.) This guy was in serious need of a clue. Fat people receive subpar health care because of assumptions like his. Highly unrecommended.
