Hilligoss Galleries

We visited this lovely gallery today and were very impressed with both the gallery and our guide/​salesman David. This gallery represents Matt Lamb and has other beautiful pieces by Miro, Picasso, Renoir and Cassat to name a few. David was very informative and there was no pressure to purchase anything, although he did make us some wonderful offers on pieces we liked. I must say, some of the offers were very good; however, we were not really in the market to purchase anything today. He was very patient and answered our questions. This gallery occupies a beautiful space and the artwork is displayed wonderfully.

Fantastic artwork in a spacious gallery right on Michigan ave in the heart of the magnificent mile.
The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
I found local artists with paintings of Chicago as well as several masters like Picasso and Renoir.
I highly recommend a visit while on Michigan avenue.

We were strolling down Michigan Avenue and a beautiful painting caught my eye in the window. I had never been in this gallery before, and was very impressed. A gentleman greeted us as we walked into the building and took us upstairs to the main gallery level. As we walked in, I was amazed at how beautiful the space was, and all the gorgeous pieces of art housed in the building. Who knew?
There were beautiful oil paintings in interesting textures. I especially loved the nature paintings as well as some of the more scenic paintings as well. There were some odd portraits that put me off a bit, but generally don’t like portraits unless they are of somebody I know (It’s kind of spooky). The modern and more abstract pieces were interesting, but not my favorite. Lovely blown glass pieces as well in beautiful colors!
The staff here were pleasant, but were more interested in speaking to each other.
