I call this place the«Dirty Stinky Little Whore» because she gives you what you want, and you’re pretty excited about it, but she really needs to take a shower!!!(O: This place has great food but is a bit dirty. The rag used to wipe tables can smell pretty bad sometimes. And… the place is a bit disorganized and cramped. But… they have the absolute best deal that you can get on Soft Shell Crabs. It is a whole plate of them at the price many places would charge for 2 crabs… a crazy great deal. It really is ironic, but the food is very good.

This place is great for takeout! The crunchy chow mein noodles and beef with bitter melon and black beans are great. The salt and pepper tofu will keep us coming back. Friendly, inexpensive and big portions!

This place is decent. They serve very appropriately large portions for average price. The food is not high nor low quality, it is edible and flavorful enough to enjoy. We ordered Chicken /Broccoli, Fried Rice, and crab rangoon. One star for the Rangoon and fried rice taste. Two stars for the portion size. We came at 3:00pm so it was a strange time, but the service was pretty bad, The employees were eating(probably on their break), but we had to ask for more water and the check. Overall, the food is pleasant and edible. Nothing special about honeymoon café, but we may be back for some authentically americanized Chinese food.

I work near this restaurant and often partake of their $ 5.25 lunch specials. It is what it’s trying to be. It’s a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant with decent food. I always get the Salt & Pepper Pork Chop lunch special, which, other than having bones in it, is pretty good. Last year, they used to allow orders online from GrubHub, and I had it happen a few times that they didn’t get my order until long after it should have been ready. They stopped taking online orders shortly after that. I thought it spoke well of them that they gave up on a type of ordering that they seemed unable to keep up with.

My friend and I walked in for brunch one saturday. We ordered 2 dishes and 1 appetizer. After we finished our first dish we were wondering when our 2nd dish will arrive. We looked around to see that 2 customers at different tables had already been served several dishes. To make matters worst one of them had the dish we ordered! It was very disappointing. The waitress barely speaks english and was very dismissive and inattentive to our needs. This is by far the worst service ever.

This is my family’s go to in Argyle, because of its cheap prices and delicious Cantonese food. What we normally order: –Fried chicken wings and crab rangoon to start. These are seriously huge. Wings are on steroids usually, and the crab rangoon are pretty normal with a good amount of cream cheese. –Crab meat and fish maw soup: this can be a hit or miss. It’s usually a tasty light soup but sometimes, it can be bland. We try to fix that with the soy sauce and black pepper on the table. –House special ribs: cooked in aluminum foil. They come out super hot, so be sure to wait a bit before opening up that bad boy. Once you do, let the juice run onto your rice. Dope. –Baby pea tips in garlic sauce: a nice vegetable side dish that can sometimes be a little too oily. It’s usually pretty good though. If you want to order out, take advantage of the lunch specials that last until 5PM(I think this is still in effect?). Seafood combination over pan fried egg noodles, any of the salt and pepper stuff over rice, fried rice, beef and eggplant over rice, etc. Less than $ 7 for two meals worth.

A hole in the wall family-owned restaurant right off the Argyle red line. Our family has been eating here for years and we’ve never had a problem. I always get the fish fillet chow mein.

Gimme that salt-fried stuff, with all those jalapenos and green onions… chicken, pork chop, whatever! Delicious! I can’t comment on much more than that because it’s my takeout joint! FYI they’re open late and they have a credit card minimum.

The crab Rangoon is that mystery crab Rangoon type where it is pre-bought frozen ~ the cream cheese taste like sugar and fake imitation crab they were pretty disgusting. Id keep this for when you’re very very very hung over and have nowhere else to go otherwise I would pass this one by.

I was referred here by a good friend of mine who is Chinese. I told him I was not a fan of the saucy«Americanized» Chinese dishes I get so many places and have all but given up on Chinese Food in the USA. He sent me here. It was good. Egg rolls were great. Salt and pepper chicken and Bo Luc Lac(diced beef with pepper), which is actually Vietnamese, were both very good.

This place is authentic Chinese. It’s very flavorful and inexpensive. My plan is to try everything on the menu. The ladies barely speak English, but it doesn’t matter! The food is worth it.

I’ve come here several times and this place can knock out many of the Chinese Restaurants in Chinatown. Love their food, so tasty and flavorful! There is street parking for which you have pay the meter. Weekdays, better to find parking, weekends harder. But haven’t had too much of a problem. The restaurant is very small. I wanna say they have about 7 or 8 tables. All large round tables with the circle server in the middle. Nothing fancy or special about the décor or the layout of the restaurant. When you walk in, there’s the small cash register counter on your left. They make their fresh fruit smoothies here too, which I highly recommend. Had the Avocado smoothie with tapioca, always my favorite! It was only two of us and we were sat at large round table cause that’s all they had, but didn’t bother me at, especially since we order a ton a food! There was only one lady working the front. She took orders, made smoothies, took phone orders, waited tables, and bussed tables! She was like the loony cartoon character Bugs Bunny playing baseball by himself! Needless to say, don’t expect great service here, but I take great food over mediocre service anytime. I give her respect cause it didnt look easy handling everything like she did. I ordered the steamed oysters, fish filet with bitter melon in black bean sauce, salt and pepper soft shell crab, ginger onion lobster, and the avocado smoothie with tapioca. Steamed oysters were huge and steamed to perfection. The fish filet was seasoned beautifully and I loved the contrast of the bitter melon in it. Soft shell crab was lightly battered, fried, and seasoned with chunks of garlic and sliced jalapeños. Ginger onion lobster… oh…my…god. whole lobster cut into smaller pieces sauteed with, well ginger and onion. Everything was delish! This place was packed given it being a Wednesday afternoon. During the course of my meal, there was probably at least 10 people coming in to order their lunchbox special. The lunch menu was very extensive and it was very affordable. Ranges from $ 4.95 to $ 5.50. You can have it put over steamed white rice, lo mein, pan fried wide rice noodles, or pan fried egg noodles. Wish I lived closer, I could order just about everyday. I highly recommend this place for authentic chinese food. They are reasonably price and gives you a ton of food. Very flavorful and cooked perfectly. This place tops some restaurants I had in Chinatown. Just don’t expect great service here but understand they are swamped and only one person working the front.

I’m not a big fan of Chinese food, but Honeymoon Café was not horrible. It’s a tiny little place with cramped seating, mismatched chopsticks and cheap paper menus. My mom had been raving about them(and their lobster dish) all week, and twisted my arm into coming in for lunch. So the lobster dish is not that great. It was listed as market price, which was $ 30 when we visited. The lobster was severely overcooked, and the deep fried part just wasn’t doing it for me. Pass. The clams in black bean sauce were very good, but not great. Chinese broccoli side dish was delicious, and tasted somewhat healthy. The winning dish was the pepper beef dish, which my brother ordered. The beef was super tender and flavorful. I made him share most of it with me! It went very nicely with my Chinese broccoli. It seems the only person who speaks English here is the owner, so be ready to point, use hand gestures and smile a lot. The bathroom here is scary. This alone would make me not come back.

They’re always busy– especially weekend. their dishes/appetizers are tasty. japanese jalapeño-tufu is friends’ and I’s favorite. beef stir-fried chinese broccoli over white-flat noodle is dilicious. My 20mn orders over phone ended up 45mn instead– that cost them a star. don’t believe me– go try, at least once.

Best Chinese food in the Argyle vicinity, hands down. Note that I said the best *food.* If you want a *restaurant* or *dining* experience, insofar as that includes décor and obsequious American-style ass-kissing service, you will get exactly zero of that here. The 5 stars are for the food, alone.(And that’s what they aspire to, alone.) Excellent: Salt n pepper anything.(Btw, if you order shrimp in this style, it will come with shell & head on. It is delectably crisp and savory and is supposed to come that way.) Green veg are fresh and well-executed. Haven’t tried everything on the menu, but everything so far has been tasty and I have no reason to expect anything different from future orders. Lastly — If you are so provincial and unwilling to grasp that there are a variety of distinct tofu preparations, including the crispy-on-the-outside, custardy-on-the-inside Japanese tofu dishes, then you have no business giving this business 1 star. Especially so if you are chagrined that your mushrooms turn out to be «noodles that are chewy and fishy-tasting with creepy sprouts at the end of them.» Enoki. Those are enoki mushrooms.

The older servers are not in the mood to be friendly. However, the younger ones are on it! Great portions for an a lunch menu that goes well into the night. Most dishes run $ 5.

This place is literally a ‘hole-in-the-wall’ but they serve great food! Their bathroom is also their tool shed. Enough for the décor. I had my two favorite dishes, baby peapod leaves in garlic sauce and salt & pepper Japanese tofu done perfectly. I then tried their beef with Chinese broccoli with pan fried noodles and the noodles were wonderfully crispy and broccoli done just right but the beef lacked flavor. The last dish was filet of fish with satay sauce and that was done well. If you on Argyle, you have to stop in. They serve smoothies too, but I didn’t try it here so I can’t judge.

Honeymoon Café is exactly what I expected when I walked in with a friend. It’s a family-run place that isn’t fancy or big, but it gets the job done and delivers quality food and service. The atmosphere is pretty bland, it’s basically a room filled with big round living room tables, but the service is friendly and attentive. The food is great. They have a ton of options for meats, seafoods, and veggies. There were so many options to choose from it was hard to pick just two. It is also pretty cheap, with many items under $ 10 each. For the portion size and quality, it is definitely worth it. I was skeptical picking a place so close to the red line, but I’m glad I walked into Honeymoon. The quiet, tiny, yet humble atmosphere and great food make for a great dining experience. Atmosphere: 7⁄10 Service: 8.5÷10 Food: 8.5÷10

Another hole-in-the-wall restaurant with its Chinese and English names having zero correlation! Honeymoon Café is a Cantonese, family-run restaurant. The interior is far from pretty. There are four large, circle tables and three medium, rectangle tables. The walls are decorated with pop-up art ranging from Disney characters to scenic landscapes. Extra chairs are stacked and filed along the tables. Despite how none of these mesh, the food is a bomb. On a summery, Wednesday evening, the five of us ordered the family dinner for six: crab meat and fish stripe soup, salt and pepper shrimp, diced beef in black and green pepper, salt and pepper Japanese tofu, baby clams in black bean sauce, and fish fillet with Chinese broccoli. These standard Cantonese entrée names are a mouthful but so were the food. I was stuffing my face with the least amount of etiquette imaginable. I was particularly fond of the Japanese tofu and diced beef. The Japanese tofu was crispy on the outside and custard-like in the center. Each piece was evenly fried to golden brown and lightly seasoned and salted. Everybody was equally marveled by this entrée. The diced beef was incredibly tender and juicy. My amateur taste buds would like to think those were actually diced steak. Portions were generous and we had leftovers to take home. Service was surprisingly good even though they only have one waiter. Prices are reasonable. The whole meal came to $ 55 before tip. In other words, it was less than $ 15 per person. I will be back!
