First of all, the egg rolls tasted like every other Chinese restaurant egg roles I’ve had in the city. That was a huge disappointment considering the name of this establishment. The food was on par, nothing special but definitely not bad. I’ll be coming back here, but won’t be brining a date or my family.

OK, I tried this spot a few times after my 1st review– horrible! The food was overcooked and sauce tasted like it came from a jar. Very unfriendly owner– his little kid just sits there everyday– that alone is making me not return. Last visit I had an egg roll, crab rangoon & orange chicken it was revolting! The egg roll was too oily and tasted frozen. DON’T EATHERE… The chicken has been overcooked every time. I came here at least 7 times and every time MEH! Go Mei Shung or Jin… Panda is better! Also, the place is filthy, total kitchen nightmare. Avoid at all costs!

Always the best service and amazing freshly prepared food. They are super nice family owned and operated business. Food tastes great, prices are amazing, portions are huge!!! If you’re needing a lunch that would last you through next day breakfast on the low, Hunan Egg Roll King is the place to go!!!

For cheap Chinese, I love this place. It’s not fancy(especially not the interior!), but it’s delicious food for an amazing price, every time. My one complaint is that they’re closed on Sundays(when I would need them for hangover relief) and on most holidays. Take out, don’t eat in there.

We had the sesame chicken, egg rolls, and pork fried rice. I thought it was pretty good and would order again.

This is still my favorite Chinese food on the north side! I am sad I don’t live closer so that I can order every week like I used to. I still get the King Po Beef anytime I now I’m driving near around lunch time. I highly recommend this as a go to Chinese food. Definitely get the egg rolls!

The food was incredibly bland. Nothing had any flavor. The cheese in the wontons was not good, the orange chicken had no orange taste and the Mongolian beef was tasteless. The young lady who took my order was very polite and the food was delivered at the expected time, but it just wasn’t good.

The food is delicious here and the owner are extremely kind. This is also a quick and easy go-to for Chinese.

I’m surprised that this restaurant doesn’t have higher reviews. The food is always amazing… Beef Kow is my fav, and Omg The beef is always soooooo tender. and the delivery service is incredibly fast. Not to mention their customers service is as a restaurant should be… its evident that they appreciate their customers. Try it and you’ll see for yourself :)

Good, if you’re looking for something quick and cheap. Pretty standard Sweet and Sour Pork. Surprisingly, the egg rolls weren’t all that great.

Best egg rolls in Chicago. Freshly prepared dishes with fresh ingredients, this unassuming Buena Park restaurant cannot be beat. The owners do all the work, and they are very kind and personable. Delivery is prompt. Oh, yeah… the prices are low. You really can’t go wrong here.

I was suffering from a head cold and needed hot and sour soup — STAT! Ordering through GrubHub was not a big deal, and my order of Kung Pao Chicken and HS soup was on time — unfortunately they forgot the egg rolls. Called them up, and was given the option of having them delivered or a credit for next time, and… since I wasn’t sure there would be a next time opted to have them bring ‘em on up. Short story: Hot and sour soup: delicious and hit the spot — cleared out mah sinuses like a dream, very chunky with a nice thick broth. Kung Pao Chicken — adequate, the small was easily 2 meals and the chicken was not breaded, but not as tender as I’ve had before. The egg rolls… eh, my daughter and I agreed that they were doughy(too much wrapper) and bland. For a place with ‘egg roll’ in its name, I was expecting more — like MINDFUCKIN’ BLOWN more. But no. At least they seemed to be homemade and not pre-fab. Still in search of the MFB egg roll in the city — I know what I’m lookin’ for, and when I find it, I’ll be sure to tout it. Overall, a good go-to, and the price is right — and the delivery service was awesome.

Using Hunan in the name of this restaurant is disgraceful. The food does not come close to anything resembling Hunan food. The only reason I didn’t give this place one star was the employees were super friendly even if they were Cantonese, not Hunanese. The food wasn’t necessarily bad but why call a place Hunan food if it’s not? It’s like calling an American place«Delicious Maine Lobster Shack» and then only serving fried chicken.

Best Chinese takeout in Chicago! The egg rolls are delicious and fresh! I live in Uptown and the delivery is always fast! Szechuan Chicken, orange chicken, and even the chicken noodle soup are also very good. Took me 3 years to find a Chinese takeout I like in this city, I would definitely recommend!

I got Carryout from them. They didn’t put the soup’s lid on right so it ended up spilling out into the bag, which was paper, which ripped, making the soup spill even more, it then soaked the egg rolls and the rice. Then it all fell out of the shitty bag. I have no clue if any of it is good or not. It was a ruined meal and I had such high hopes for them. In short, don’t order soup from them or delivery or carryout, you can’t trust their packaging skills. I tried to call up to complain but no one answered. I don’t even know what they would do? Tell me to wait for delivery?

I used GrubHub to order food from here since I’d forgotten my lunch at home and was going to be stuck at work all day. The delivery time was great(about 40 minutes compared to the hour I was quoted online) but that was about it… I ordered the Triple Delight House Dinner Special — it sounded pretty good(steak, chicken, and shrimp with vegetables and rice). I paid $ 1 extra for extra vegetables — I’d hate to think how few there’d be without upgrading because the amount in the container wasn’t anything to write home about. The egg roll and rice were both pretty good — not the best I’ve had, but not the worst either. Overall quality of the food in general was kind of so-so. Case in point: With all the other options available, I’d probably opt for somewhere else next time.

Awesome Egg Rolls, but not worth the drive to get if you are not on that North side of Chicago. Got a fried chicken rice too, which was surprisingly better than the Egg Rolls! Good spot for chinese lunch for sure!
