Overwhelmingly some of the worst service that I have had in a long time. I couldnt really tell if they didnt like me, or they were just in the weeds. Regardless, I was really dissapointed with the poor service. But I think this thought is mirrroed by others that have reviewed this spot. I like the Lemon bowtie pasta that everybody seems to rave about(in fact i ate the whole damn bowl), but it wasnt absolutely phenomenal like I was expecting. Good flavor, and if I come back, Id definitely order it again. They appear to have a pretty intense martini list, the only thing is, I dont drink damn martinis so that doesnt really help my cause out at all. For an appetizer I got the tabasco wings. They were probably a 6.5 on the wing scale… good but i am not running in the restaurant screaming«how can I get the recipe».feel me? Hate to sound less than flattering, but I think the fact that I wasnt really hungry and the service sucked kinda threw me off a bit… Id go again though… just not sure when???

Rating is based purely on cocktails and atmosphere. I must have driven past Iggy’s 45 times before it finally dawned on me to stop in. Thank God I finally did, because this place is awesome. They have a great drink menu and the décor is pretty fun. The bartenders(one in particular) are very entertaining and although the place is cozy, it’s really quite comfortable. I haven’t been there to eat yet, but something tells me I will since they serve SUPER late. Thanks Iggy’s! See you soon!

Lame. Server told me their best dish was the lemon-herb bow tie pasta dish. Here’s what’s up between me and my girl Val during din-din: Val: What’d you get? Me: The lemon-herb pasta thing she said. Wanna try? Val: K… Dude, it tastes like swimming pool(laughing). Me: I know right?! Or like they sprayed it with Pledge. Your stuff looks like Chef Boyardee ravioli. Val:(laughing) It tastes like it a little. …and to dessert… Val: We should only come here for desert and get this. (I got the Hershey A la Mode and she got the Tropical Bomba — cherry and peach sorbet wrapped in white chocolate) Me: You’re totally right.(laughing) And not come on a Sunday when our waitress is talking to us like we’re at Chuck E. Cheese. So that’s my story. Really, super loud and ultra perky waitress was a little much on a rainy Sunday night with no one else in the restaurant. We’re both in the industry so we know a little and observe the weirder, smaller things — like knowing your customer and where their vibe is at after a few exchanges. The food is nothing special. Pasta’s easy, so you’ve gotta give me something different or mildly impressive here. The deserts were right on though. Would go back for them.

Even though I cut out all breads and pastas from my diet, I have to admit I cheat when I go to Iggy’s. I mean the Lemon Bowtie Pasta is addicting and sometimes I get it with steak(yeah I know bad food combo) But after going to Iggy’s for 8 years I am happy to see it back. The first location was the best on Milwaukee avenue and even though the place is a bit cramped, you cant go wrong with the food or the martinis which I still think are the best in Chicago So if you ever see me there at 2 a.m., you’ll know why

I kinda felt tricked when I came here… didn’t really know much about the history of the place, I got this email from Zagat about a reopening and assumed it was a food joint. As long as you can read English, please note Unilocal classifies it as a bar. Food was definitely a notch above bar food, but definitely not a dinner destination, although it was an interesting blend of random couples grabbing a bite and a drink, a family, and some older visitors when I dropped by. The thing about Iggy’s I guess is that the kitchen is open real late, I think until 2am. The breaded mushroom caps and the special scallop risotto I had that day were both pretty average and I don’t think the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu or the drinks menu. Nonetheless, they did have 2 full menu pages of martinis — all sorts of fruity and various concoctions at $ 12/pop. Décor was definitely very interesting, but considering it wasn’t very busy at 10p on a Friday night, maybe the old clientele don’t think this place lives up to its predecessors.

Iggy’s is back. It has wonderful cocktails for all of those who love them — you have to try more than one, and the value for the cocktails is very, very good. As always it has fantastic food. The new location is a fun, and when visiting Chicago, Iggy’s will always be a must go to place. Service is good, and the wait staff always seem happy to help out, always making you feel like they are genuinely happy to see you.

I am a huge fan of Iggy’s regardless of where they decide to relocate. I’m almost like an obsessed fan when it comes to tracking them down. Well… not that bad. But, I love every single thing about this place. It’s dark, it’s dingy(yet clean, if that makes any sense), the décor is very unique, and the music is just at the right level, playing just the right selection of rock. But, the best thing(s) about Iggy’s is the food and the cocktails! The food is AMAZING! I have yet to try something on their menu that sucks. The prices are well worth every single penny!!! As far as the cocktails go, they are mixed perfect, far from watered down yet not overly poured. They’re open LATELATE so pass up the dive taco stand and hit up Iggy’s. I highly recommend this place! :)

I am a huge fan of Iggy’s. I must agree with Carlos F. about the original Iggy’s on Milwaukee being the best one. There’s just no comparison. That location was the best. The atmosphere, people and food was fantastic. The second one on North ave, I had a love/hate relationship with it because I loved the out door patios(especially the the rooftop one) and loved the employees(carlos is the best!) but hated 90% of the people who went there. I’m a huge fan of the mango martini. Love the tabasco wings. This location is a bit too overcrowded and service can be a bit slow. It’s a drive for me to come here which sucks but since I love Iggy’s I will try to come back as often as possible!

Iggy’s is back but now in the Gold Coast! All the décor is back — the sock puppet monkeys, the mannequin leg with the lampshade, the rock music, and the dark red walls. I believe most of the menu is back as well which highlights American/Italian contemporary food for a decent price(less than $ 9 for appetizers, $ 10 – 20 for entrees, and martinis). Some of their favorites are the artichoke fritters(heavily battered and fried), lemon butter bow tie pasta, tabasco wings, shrimp and asparagus risotto, and spicy calamari linguini. They also offer a few steaks. Come if you’re in a rocker’s kind of mood or just want a unique dining experience with great tasting food, but be warned that this location is more narrow and cramped than the previous one.

Hooooorah!!! Break out the kazoos, Iggy’s is back!!! The original devotees of Iggy’s know how devastating it was when they shut down our Milwaukee Ave location, packed up shop and head to Bucktown. Don’t get me wrong, I love Bucktown… just not for my dark, brooding Iggy’s. It was my own little late night oasis for so long and I was not a fan of the new hotsy totsy North Avenue digs. I bid a nostalgic farewell when they closed the Btown spot and what a glorious surprise to find it back in the Gold Coast! They’ve tapped back into the original campy décor… it’s dark with red votives everywhere and the rock music pumps loud from the speakers. The martini list is in full effect and my fav menu items welcomed me back… artichoke fritters, rigatoni with sausage and peas and all the risottos! I was a bit disappointed to find that our waitress had not been educated on the ingredients in some of the martinis… but the bartender was friendly and the owner, Carlos, was there and just as excited about the reopening as the rest of us. There’s no valet yet which poses a small problem for parking in the area… there’s a pay lot down the street and meters but Carlos said that will be remedied soon. Welcome back Iggy’s… it’s always nice to see the face of an old friend!

Its back bringing back the feal of the Milwaukee location much more than north ave. With a special almost ever night of the week. Even the staff behind the bar and in the kitchen are from the old Milwaukee space.

Well, what can I say. I am a die hard Iggy’s fan since the beginning and I was sad to see the Milwaukee Ave one go. Then the Bucktown one just didn’t work for me. So when I spotted the Iggy’s sign again downtown… I thought… maybe Iggy’s can make a come back for me. Once agin, I’ll have a late night spot and not have to hang with suburb weekenders. No more Bucktown yuppiness, give me back my dark bar where I can have a martini and artichoke fritter in peace! Well, after a late night meal there this week, I have mixed feelings about it. Yes, you can have the Artichoke Fritters, Tobasco wings and lemon bow tie pasta again. The martini’s list is there too and the service was fine. But the restaurant has an open feel and only a small bar area. Yes, the sock monkey pics are on the wall, but it was a bit empty on a Tuesday night 11 p.m. There were 2 cops eating there and a police car parked out front. I love CPD, but the place just does not feel as down as it used to be. Maybe because it’s new? So for all Iggy’s lovers, please go populate this restaurant and make this place alive again!
