Great tasting food for a bar. The staff is friendly. They have an amazing patio. I think the best items on the menu are the tacos, really tasty. I had the beef tacos (not the steak, the seasoned ground beef); it was seasoned really well.

If you’re looking for an awesome patio and a sports bar with cheap drinks and great food, this place is for you. Great place to watch the game! Go for taco Tuesdays. YES. YES. YES. Everything about this place screams dive sports bar. Nice atmosphere, awesome patio in the summer. Love it!

I use to love coming here because they had the best tots in town. Chili and cheese thrown on top and they were legendary. Now they only have sweet potato tots which are mediocre at best. BRING BACK THE TOTS!

I had really high hopes for this bar because it has a great outdoor area. However, it took FOREVER to get my drink on a Saturday night, and they wouldn’t let me order from the bar and bring my drink out. Other than the slow service, it was a cool place. They let dogs come, and they have darts.

The service here is wonderful and the food is pretty good. Also, it’s dog friendly on the patio which makes me super happy. I plan on having many regular visits over the summer.

The service is slow. Even takes for ever just for drinks. They even messed up my food order and acted like they were not in the wrong.

I live about a block from this place. I love it. It’s not your fine dining or upscale neighborhood bar but it’s more of a dive bar feel. Decent food and decent prices.

The only bad thing I can say about Jack and Ginger’s is that they took away regular tots! They now have sweet potato tots but not regular… soooooooooo sad soo sad… horrible decision!

Ugh. I wish I could comment about their food, but we never got served. Waited 1.5 hours for our food and never got even the appetizers. Had to leave because we had an appointment we thought we’d have plenty of time to make, but alas, we had to go there without lunch. Starving and frustrated at the SLLOOOOWWWW service. Beware going there when there are big games on TV and the weather is nice. They can’t handle the volume. We might go back during a dead time, but after this horrible experience, likely not.

It’s not that Jack & Gingers isn’t a good bar, but when I compare it to others around it’s a solid ³⁄₅ stars. They have a good beer list and tv’s to watch a game if you want. There is plenty of room too so even when it’s seems full you can maybe get a table. It’s more of a spot to stop in if you’re near by more than a place i would specially go to.

Great place to get some late night food. Saw a comedy show at the Cabaret beforehand and one of the comedians joked about not being able to get a mimosa at midnight in a bar. Well you can at this place, in fact it was a special as was the bloody Mary’s. I decided I had to get a Bloody Mary. It was spicy and good. Great deal on sliders on Saturday night. I had two cheeseburger sliders and a pulled pork slider. Were they the best sliders I’ve ever had? No. But did they taste amazing late on a Saturday night and not break the bank? Yes.

Jack & Ginger’s, because sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name! I’ve been going to J & G’s for several years and with good reason. They have some of the best daily drink and food specials around served up in a most inviting environment. Some of my faves are the fish tacos, wings, salads, and pizzas. There is something for everyone-​legit, quality, fresh bar fare. They have lots of TVs for those interested in the games and TouchTunes for those wanting to play their favorite jams.
Although I no longer live in Bucktown, I still go there several times a year because it’s just ‘that place’ that seems to come up when answering the question «Where should we go?». Scott, Eddie, and Lupe are A+. Oh, did I mention they have the BEST outdoor patio? I may or may not have met my fiancé there…

Bartenders were super friendly and their food was phenomenal. We got the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and were totally in love with it. I went when it was cold so I can’t speak much to the patio but the inside was cozy and clean.

Great bar with amazing daily food & drink specials. I have never gone there & left disappointed in the quality of their food or service. From the pizza to their sliders, everything is delicious and SO CHEAP! I would highly recommend this place whether you are going on a date night or a night out on the town with friends.

Pretty decent joint to swing by with bar food and booze. It seems like everyday there is always a deal of the day. We came in on a Monday and had the chicken wings for 35 cent wings. We had three flavors and they were pretty decent and everything is really decent. No complaints just a decent place and nothing to special and there’s always deals throughout the week so that’s pretty great.

They have there drinks specials listed all through out the bar and they look pretty awesome. $ 10 pitchers, shot specials daily and .35 cent wings on Monday.

Went here with 3 friends on a Friday night. 2 of them were of the ginger-​haired variety, so I thought they picked this place solely for the name (unfortunately, my other friend wasn’t named Jack). However, I realized they picked Jack & Ginger due to the simple fact that it’s a great bar (though I still believe the name had something to do with it)!
We came here for drinks after dinner. The service was amazing! It’s like our waitress had a 6^th sense and knew the exact moment to come back to refill our drinks — she definitely kept the drinks flowing and the good times rolling. The selection of beers won’t blow you away, but they had Lagunitas and Bell’s on tap, so I was more than happy. Drinks were also cheap.
They have different food and drink specials almost every night — though I can’t remember what exactly (probably cause they have so many!). It gets crowded during Bulls or Blackhawks games, but the crowds tend to disperse after the games are over. Also, when we were there they played Friends (aka the best TV show ever) on some of the TV’s — how awesome is that?! I definitely want to come back to check out their outdoor patio on a nice day!

Solid spot to go for cheap drinks, sports, beer pong in the summer, and conversation with friends. 4 of us came on a Friday evening and even when we told our waitress we were just drinking, we still received great service. You won’t find the most unique craft beers here – most of the drafts are domestic and the highlights are Bell’s, Lagunitas and Goose Island – but you will find great deals with prices being almost half of what you’d pay in River North for the same beer.
I had a few dirty Shirleys and a gin and tonic, both of which were plenty strong. The guys had beers, jack and gingers, and long islands. Plenty of huge TVs to catch whatever games are on.
First highlight of the night: After the Bulls and Blackhawks games ended (both with wins!) they put on FRIENDS. Even though we couldn’t hear it and there were no captions, Friends always makes me happy.
Second highlight: Apparently a Jameson rep was there… So all tables were offered a free Jameson shot. Our waitress was cool enough to take one with us.
I’ll come back again in the summer to enjoy the patio for sure!
