Jennifer is an amazing stylist. She has colored and cut my hair for many years. She always comes up with creative suggestions on how to make me look better. Jennifer is very professional, kind and a great communicator. After she styles my hair I always feel great. I would highly recommend her.

Jen is the best hairdresser and coolest chick there is! I think she is a great cutter and excellent colorist… she has taken many of my friends from black to blond to red and back with minimal damage. Can’t wait to see the new place!

My hair is naturally super dark and I’ve
been bleaching my hair for years. I trust no one else in the Chicago area (and the country) other than Jennifer. I’ve been going to her for years now and she strives and thrives off perfection. Let no one else touch your hair. Plus +++ she’s in a rad KISS cover band and is a 100% badass and her family is fun and hilarious and I love them so much.

Jennifer is an awesome colorist. I like very complex color with lots of high and low-​lights, chunks and texture. She does a GREAT job with my curly hair. Right now, my hair has dark brown, medium brown, blonde, strawberry blonde and deep auburn in it. It might sound crazy, but it looks great. I get compliments all the time and people are always asking me where I get my color done. It is like, top Mich Ave quality but here is the best thing: for all the work my color is (I have a *lot* of hair), Jennifer’s prices are very very pocketbook friendly. Part of this is because she sees you at her house, which may include one or both of her young sons or one of her two cats roaming around (they’re all sweeties), and you’ll have to rinse in her kitchen sink (which is nice and clean with clean, fluffy towels). She has a professional salon chair in her dining room, so the experience is perfectly comfortable.
Despite the home setting, Jennifer is a licensed and highly accredited stylist who used to own her own salon in a prime Wicker Park location. Seeing clients at home cuts out the overhead, and the quality of work Jennifer provides make her prices an absolute steal for those in the know.
I’ve heard she is also great for wedding parties /​up-​dos.

Jennifer is simply amazing. As a African-​American female, I’ve struggled to find the right stylist who pays attention to the unquieness and texture of my hair and it doesn’t get better then Jennifer. Through her care, my hair has grown at least a foot and counting for the four years I’ve been a client and my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been. She does my highlights and keratin treatments regularly and Jennifer is able to provide product recommendations that actually improves the overall heath and strength of my hair. Her schedule is flexible, she knows what she’s doing and to top it off, she is affordable. My hair is so thankful I found her!!!

Jennifer is a hair genius. I’ve been going to her for years, and she has walked me through a million different styles, including going from blonde to dark brown with peacock accents this summer which i absolutely love! she’s really good at interpreting what i want even if i can’t express it in words and is always up for making suggestions if i want a change. she’s also very affordable which is key for me because i have tons of hair that takes a long time to work with and it can rack up alot of $$$ at some places. go to her, you won’t be disappointed!

Jennifer is the only person that’s touched my hair for years! Being a girl with very thick and curly hair with a mind of its own, it’s not very easy to find someone who can actually ensure a good cut. She makes great recommendations, never keeps you waiting and always makes you laugh while you’re in the chair. I would be very sad if I had to find another Hairgirl to replace her. And if you could see my hair right now, you’d know why!

Jennifer is the best! I have short, straight, fine bleached blonde hair and she has cut it 3 or 4 times so far. She is great at creating a short cut that is versatile. I wanted a cut that I could wear down like a pixie or styled back like a pompadour and she hit the nail on the head. She can copy a look from a photo or do a hybrid of a couple of different looks. She also gave me great styling advice. A friend recommended Jennifer to me and I haven’t looked back. Haircuts happen in her living room and the price is right. She is also an expert at color although I haven’t used that service from her yet. One of my fave things is that since she is so professional, your hair will look good all the time– even in between cuts– since she knows how to cut it so that it grows out looking great. Highly recommended!
