Jet’s Public House

Left after a brief and unpleasant experience here. I’ve usually avoided Jets before because clientele reminds me a bit too much of a trailer park. Tonight I gave them a try after a couple rounds at The Garage next door, which is a friendly neighborhood bar. After I walked into Jets I was pushed three time by the same person and after finally saying something I was told, «Well, she’s the bartenders girlfriend so she kind of does what she wants». Three time I was pushed with two hands by the same person who can’t hold their booze and was looking for trouble. I moved to a different area each time but each time (I get it, sometimes people are drunk and need the benefit of the doubt) but each time she found me.
If you need to take care of your drunk friends and relatives, put them somewhere private where they can act like a mess without running everyone else’s night, ok? I shouldn’t have to play nice while being harassed because your employee’s girlfriend can’t handle her liquor.

I’m really not understanding the bad reviews or the two dollar signs for pricing. The staff at Jets as well as the customers are FANTASTIC. Susie the bartender is super sweet and friendly. They have specials almost everyday and the $ 3 burgers on Wednesday are delish. It’s a huuuge burger with a side for 3 bucks. Plus they have local brews and nothing on the menu is over 8 bucks. My husband and I just started coming here this past year and it has definitely become one of our favorite and comfortable local bars. DEFNITELY order the fried cheese plate (mozzarella sticks, jalepeno poppers, cheese curds and fried mac and cheese -$ 6) so so so so so so good!!!

Fun, friendly, service is fast, chicken wings are tasty and jukebox was great.

Went to a birthday party on Saturday night. Everything was great. Even though the bar was crowded with other customers, the staff went out of their way to take care of our group. Food was delicious and was served hot which is great when a place is that busy. I’d recommend Jet’s.

My sister and friend used to frequent this place 3 to 4 nights a week! The atmosphere is great, the crowd was great and the old bartenders were great! It’s new ownership now so things have changed a lot and I cant say that it has changed for the good. I guess you get used to things and sometimes you just don’t like change!
Aside from the beer, the sliders are AMAZING, the fries are AMAZING and the ranch dressing (I know that’s weird) is AMAZING!!! Make sure you try them!!!

Disappointed. They say they are wheelchair accessible but have a 5 inch step at the front doorway. I know my wheelchair cannot make that jump. Please correct your posting or make appropriate changes.

Fun Neighborhood place! 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 for the fact that they cut fresh sweet potatoes to make fries.
Decent beer selection — $ 3.50 burger and fries specials on Wednesdays (upcharges for cheese and side subs.)
Gets crowded during hockey season, but plenty of TV’s. During Hawks games they raffle off jerseys — in order to get a raffle ticket you have to buy a shot!
Service was attentive.

We initially went to the Garage to watch the Blackhawk’s game with a total of 5 in our party, but that place had no more seating. So we walked over to Jet’s. There just happened to be two high top tables and we were able to grab unused chairs from other places. We sat in the corner by the bathroom which was a terrible location to put tables. Every time someone came out of the bathroom, they were only a few inches away from us and we had to move. So we moved the table over a bit, but then we were in the way of the bus boy’s path from the kitchen to the bar. Anyway, they eventually squeezed through the little path we gave them.
It took maybe 20 min before the bus boy gave us our menus. Then another 30 min before we finally went to the bar to ask for the server. The bartender said there were no servers and we were supposed to come up there if we wanted to order– but that she would come over this one time. You would think the bus boy would have told us that when he gave us the menus???
Anyway, my husband and I both got the Patty Melts. Mine came with tots and his came with waffle fries. We both thought the patty melts were good! I was very surprised to be honest because I don’t like rye bread and it came on rye bread. I thought the tots were good and my husband thought the cajun seasoned waffle fries were good! Our friends got the nacho fries as well– I wasn’t a fan– didn’t think it tasted much like anything but my husband and friends liked it.
The place had a bunch of board games which I thought was cool. Overall, the place was aiight! =)

It took over 30 minutes for a sandwich and chicken fingers.

Bartenders were really nice and service was great. However, I asked the bartender to put my credit card under my receipt on my tab at the bar; they leave them out in the open. By the time I went to pay it had been put back on top of my receipt, which made my uncomfortable. I’m sure I have nothing to l worry about and it was just the other staff switching it to know my tab was open. Either way, I didn’t like that.
Second — neither bar tender could tell me about 3 different beers on their craft beer list which made me settle for a beer I knew, when looking to try a new one with a recommendation.
Food was good and service was friendly, but the CC and beer things caused the 3-​star rating as opposed to a 4 – 5 star.

This is a good place to go to if you want to watch a game, no matter where you sit, there’s a TV to see. The only thing I was disappointed with was the place was so crowded, that I had to walk up to the bar to order food. There were servers, but they couldn’t see us.

I had an overall great experience here the last few times I went. New owners and staff seem very friendly. Great food and drinks! It’s always a fun time whether its during the week or the weekend, always something going on. Love their trivia and karaōke nights!!!

Jets is a small bar, its dive-​ish atmosphere works if your trying to come here to watch sports, especially the blackhawks. I was here when they won the Stanley cup and it was rocking. I recently came here for a Bulls playoff game, it was pretty empty but, they have plenty of TVs no matter what angle you sit at. When it comes to food and beer list Garage next door has them beat no doubt. Garage I would say is more of a social place, less TV’s, no sport audio, and nice rooftop. But if you wanna go out and Watch and Hear the game this is a nice spot.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ORDER WINE HERE! Seriously sooooo bad. I even told the bar tender (older woman) and she said I should order something else, and still charged me for the ones I had to struggle to keep down. I even made the mistake to order a different types of wine thinking it was just that type, yet I was still tempted to spit right back out. It was that bad… The amount they charge for a glass is probably more than they spend on the whole bottle. I’m not expecting them to have high end $ 70 bottles of wine, but come on!
Albeit I only come when The Garage is too crowded and friends and I are already parked… I’ll continue to stick to Budweiser when here.

Jet’s Bar is in a great area. Owners and staff are fantastic people. Drinks, food and atmosphere is fantastic. I highly recommend this place…

Best neighbor bar around!!! Great food at a great price. i have a blast every time i go. The new owners are very friendly and have started getting fantastic bands playing every weekend. The bar vibe makes you feel like you have been there all your life. Outstanding place, can’t wait to go back! Come check it out!

Updating review since there are new owners now. Not a very friendly place anymore unfortunately. The bartenders make you feel like you are bothering them by ordering a drink. Guess I will bring my business elsewhere.

So sad that we have been coming here since they opened and because they changed hands that the new owners family members decide to act as if they own the bar! A child about 22 told my friend to speak when spoken to and started a confrontation only to be asked to leave. The bar used to have flair. It was fun and upbeat. A game day meant a great time. Now? Not so much! This place is going downhill and fast! The food, the guests, the entire vibe! They made the biggest mistake of getting rid of their manager, Sarah. Sad. I wouldn’t have given this place a 10 star rating a few months ago. Now? I don’t even want to give it a 1 but there isn’t an option!

Really popular around the neighborhood. Really exciting sports bar. Good deals. They havr karakoke nights on Sundays I believe. Come on in n check it out

Best neighborhood bar! The food is great, the atmosphere is so comfortable, and the prices are low! I not only go as a customer, but I have also had a couple group parties at Jet’s. I received so many compliments from friends who attended the parties! Outstanding bar, great prices, and an overall fun place to go out!
