Berkshire Hathaway was the listing agent for the condo I recently purchased. My primary concern in my home search was construction/​quiet. I didn’t want to hear my neighbors ²⁴⁄₇. Keith’s associate represented the property on the two occasions I toured the condo in the three-​unit building. I asked if the floors were concrete and was told yes. Unfortunately, I took the agent at his word. Mistake. I also trusted my @Property agent Martin Uthe to confirm. He didn’t. Mistake. The ceiling above me is wood, not concrete, and it is not in the least bit quiet.
It should have been a huge flag when Keith’s associate did not know the square footage of the condo; he did not know which AC unit belonged to the condo I was looking at; and he did not know how to open the first floor balcony doors. He was what most realtors are today: part-​time hobbyists. I’m going to spend several thousand soundproofing the ceiling.
Keith may be as good as his other reviews purport him to be, but his associate was not knowledgeable and misrepresented the property I bought.

What can’t I say about Keith? He is WONDERFUL! My husband and I had two months to move out of our rental and find a home to purchase — in addition to getting married and going on a two week honeymoon. We were crazy, but Keith was game! Needless to say, we were stressed, but Keith and his team really did a lot of work for us. Not only were we able to find a home that met all (and then some!) of our needs. We were never pressured by him at anytime during the process to make any sort of decision — something you can really appreciate when making such big decisions, especially with the time constraints we were under. Keith is a gem!

I highly recommend Keith to anyone looking for a highly qualified, professional, and easy-​going real estate agent in the Chicago area. Keith was a pleasure to work with buying my first condo in 2013. He has expert knowledge of the local area, market, and home-​buying process. Keith sold our vintage home in Rogers Park. He sold it quickly and maximized our return, not an easy task given the market. Keith was persistent in his marketing efforts, holding multiple open house showings and following up with every prospective buyer, often more than once. He did a good job negotiating for us and was always professional and easy to work with. We’ve worked with other realtors and Keith simply did a much better job. We would work with him again to buy or sell another home, whether vintage or contemporary.

In spring 2012, we had a great experience working with Keith Goad to sell our vintage home in Wrigleyville. We went under contract within a week of listing our house. From our introductory meeting through closing, Keith was professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, realistic, very friendly, and easy to work with. He also has a great sense of humor, which was always welcome during what can be a very stressful process. When we discussed the potential listing price, Keith was well-​prepared with comps and information about the neighborhood. When we started prepping the house for sale, Keith gave us thoughtful, constructive suggestions and tips for updating the house but always remained sensitive to our cost concerns and preferences (sometimes you just don’t want to repaint your red dining room). One thing we loved about Keith is that he understands how much work sellers have to do to get their houses ready for market — de-​cluttering, re-​organizing, repairing, and re-​arranging. He gave us the right balance of needed encouragement and praise. The stager he brought in also was a huge help. Our first week on the market, Keith held a well-​attended Open House. He had prepared a fantastic listing sheet and brochure, with beautiful photos and the perfect description of our vintage house. Given his knowledge and experience, he knew exactly how to highlight the strengths and charms of our century-​old home. From the Open House, we received an offer and were under contract within a week. Keith gave us great advice during all the negotiations, and we were always confident in relying on his experience and counsel.

Keith’s real estate knowledge and his hard work allowed us to buy our vintage style dream home in Chicago. It was stress free, which isn’t usual when buying or selling a home, but Keith handled everything and we were very impressed! We have had to relocate several times for career opportunities, and Keith was definitely the best realtor we have ever worked with. When we sold our vintage home a few years later, Keith marketed the property so well that even in a slow real estate market, our home sold in less than 60 days. You cannot say Keith Goad is just a Realtor, he is so much more than that. He has so many great resources and advice to offer from handy man work to a wonderful stager that I swear helped us sell our place in less than 45 days. Keith went above and beyond in helping us find the perfect house. We started the search extremely wide and he helped us focus to what mattered most to us. We ended up buying a 100 year old Victorian house which during the first visit I did not care for but with paint and decorating from our stager we now have the house we can call home. Keith never pushed our house on us instead it was us reevaluating our needs and taking into considerations his recommendations on small changes we could make. Without Keith I doubt we would have been able to sell so quickly and find the perfect house.
