Needed a quick lunch after checking in at McCormick place and wanted to walk. There isn’t too much in the neighborhood so we landed here. It was mid afternoon so it was very quiet which gave us the opportunity to chat up the bartender. Food was just what you’d expect at a tavern, great tots and a nice wrap. Service was fantastic! Eric was so personable and very helpful in giving us some places to hit up. We were tourists but prefer to find local’s favorite spots. Would recommend if you’re in the area!

Great service and the Moscow mule is the bomb! But the food is horrible. The loaded tots have some crappy cheese from a can. The walleye was flavorless and the Mac and cheese just tasted bad. I didn’t eat more then a few bites. Absolutely terrible.

I have worked in the south loop for nearly 3 years & Kroll’s is one of the few places within walking distance of the office. Well today it became a less than desirable option. Myself & coworkers always sit at the bar, sometimes we eat in sometimes we order to go. Today Maggie, who only had 5 customers at the bar refused to serve me because I was ordering to go! She said I’d need to see the hostess. Seriously? What kind of bartender doesn’t want an easy tip??? Luckily Wade, who was gracious & polite & had several tables of his own already, saved the day. From now on we’ll call first & only go if Maggie is NOT bartending. 5 stars for Wade, zero for Maggie.

Food is great… Service is AWEFUL! Just moved here two weeks ago from out of state, and both times we’ve been here the server Zulema is horrible! Oh, AND… I ordered a burger, asked for a side of mayo after it was served, and WASCHARGED $.50 for MAYONNAISE… RIDICULOUS!!!

Maybe a year ago this place updated its menu and took off most of the veggie options, adding some strange fries and more things covered in beef and bacon. I get it, it’s a sports bar. But unfortunately losing all veggie wrap options was a deal breaker for me. There also seems to be a quite a bit of staff turnover lately and the service is just so slow. Half of the time our orders come out wrong. I’m disappointed at the turn Kroll’s has taken. Come for cheap beer; go get food at The Scout.

I come here when I know the other sports bars will be packed. For whatever reason, it’s just not that go-to sports bar. It did save the day for me when other places only had Chicago sports on and I was trying to catch a different game. The food is okay.

Awkward seating configuration and poor quality TVs for a place that considers itself a sports bar. Food isn’t too bad, for bar food. Beer list is decent, although I never can understand bars with an extensive beer list, of which the bad actually only has 35% of them in stock. That area needs an anchor neighborhood bar and Krolls in my opinion isn’t managed consistently enough(sporadic kitchen closing times, always looking for excuses not to deliver food and very average bartenders) to be a true neighborhood bar. Maybe somebody else will step in to shake things up a bit. Until then, do yourself a favor and go to Reggie’s.

We had a group of 18 looking to brunch after the shamrock shuffle last week. The staff at Krolls were more than happy to accommodate our large party. We were seated together and had two servers! The drinks came fast, our service was amazing, and the food was delicious! I had a Bloody Mary and the breakfast burger! My bloody came with a beer flight and some delicious cheese bites! My burger was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Krolls for an awesome brunch experience!

Ok for a quick bite… nothing special though Kroll’s is walking distance from McCormick Place which gives it a certain convenience factor for the conference crowd. The restaurant itself is pretty standard for a sports bar. The staff is helpful but clearly overwhelmed with the number of tables. The menu is pretty standard too with the typical pub fare. I had a grilled chicken roll-up that was fine. Certainly not memorable or fun. I wouldn’t go back unless I had no other option.

Kroll’s used to be our go-to spot, as we live nearby and could always get affordable, creative, and surprisingly good food along with a great beer selection. Unfortunately after new management took over and all the regular staff either left or were dismissed, things have gone downhill. While beer prices are still good and seating is ample, service has gotten ssslllllooooooowwwww. They’ve done away with most of the creative menu options(and all the vegetarian ones! Seriously, wtf?) and everything tastes like it came out of a freezer. Hoping they realize that the scores of regulars that have been coming for years are as important as the game day crowds they’re trying to woo, and bring back better, fresher food and faster, more personal service. Right now, this could be any other mediocre sports bar in Chicago, which is a shame.

You know you’re not a huge sports fan when you literally go to a sports bar on Super Bowl Sunday, but eat, drink, and leave before the actual game event starts. I mean, who does that? This girl. I participated in a pre-Super Bowl broadcast at Kroll’s and stuck around after of course to grab something to eat and drink. I mean, I may not be a big fan of football, but I am a big fan of food. I had brought my mom along for this city adventure so she accompanied me for the meal. Kroll’s had Goose Island on special for $ 3 so we indulged in a few of those. After browsing the menu we decided to each start with a bowl of their chicken dumpling soup since it’s one of their specialties(and it was a pretty chilly day). Our waitress asked if we wanted to upgrade from a cup to a bowl for only 50 cents… Well sure! The bowl was actually the perfect amount. It looked like a lot more than it was, because the bowl was really shallow. They definitely make a mean chicken dumpling soup though. Boy was it good! The soup ended up being pretty filling, so my mom and I decided to split the three cheese grilled cheese($ 8.50) with added pork belly(and extra $ 2.50). This creamy blend of sharp American, mozzarella, and gouda cheese melted perfectly onto a crusty rustic bread. Yum! As our side we went with the tater tots. Of course our waitress asked if we wanted to upgrade to loaded tots and at this point, hell… why not! The tots were good, but I wasn’t totally loving the melted cheese on them. The bacon pieces were a nice touch though. Service was great and our waitress was really nice. The only bummer was that she forgot my ranch. We sat at a high top table towards the back of the bar, but they also have some pretty comfy looking booths and plenty of TVs. Seems like a decent spot to watch a game. Ya know, if you’re into that sort of thing.

After a night of being harassed by another patron, my party was tossed out of this racist establishment. Our treatment was so poor, another guest wrote a note on a napkin apologizing for the treatment my party received and sent it to my table via a waitress. I will never go to this place again.

This is based purely on the food. The waitress was great and the drinks were great. But the food was nothing more then something I could find inside soldier field. Not many options on the menu and everything tastes like it was just pulled out of a freezer and plopped on the grill or warmed up. The place is very nice and comfy in the inside, but they need some help in the kitchen. This place would be a gold mine if they had some creativity back there. Walking distance to soldier field and nice buckets of mimosas. Other then that if your looking for food, go somewhere else.

Solid sports bar in south loop, we had 3 apps-the sidewinder fries, cheese curds, and mac and cheese, all were good, and a respectable beer list, including three floyds, they also make a 312/Green Line mixture from Goose Island that was actually pretty good, they mixed very well together, and best of all they have rolling office chairs at the Tables by the TV that are super comfy, it did get pretty packed during the wisconsin game(it is a wisconsin bar) so just be aware of that, or just be sure to get there super early those days

I am surprised that Kroll’ has anything less than 4 stars. We live around the corner and have been here a lot of times. They have a lot of food and beverage specials during the week including 20% off your bill on Tuesday for local residents. The space is large with lot of TVs and screens, and although they do get packed on game nights the wait isn’t too long due to the number of tables and seats at the bar and the inside dining area. Food is bar food done right. I usually get the Tuna Steak sandwich which is a piece of tuna steak, and not chopped tuna like other places. For $ 13, it’s one of the better tuna sandwiches out there. I also like that I can get tater tots, sweet potato fries or regular fries with my burger. The sweet potato fries is a no brainer. Service is attentive and I have never had a bad experience in all my visits.

I like this place but am always so disappointed by its service. I’ve only ever visited on a football Sunday, too, so you’d think they’d have their A Team ready to go! The food comes out quickly but drink refills are s-l-o-w to follow, if not completely forgotten about all together. I’d love the opportunity to politely remind my server but rarely see him/her after the food has been dropped off… It just always seems like somebody called in sick and nobody else could come in and help pick up the pace. There should be more people on the floor taking care of customers.
