Stopped by yesterday afternoon before heading to the airport. Leon’s was recommended to us and we figured we couldn’t leave Chicago without trying it out.
Claudia ordered the Chicken Tenders and I had the Rib Tips. Food was ready within 5 mins for us. The chicken was on point, moist, tender, get flavors, and it was fried perfectly. The rib tips were were delicious too, great flavor, light smoke, with sweet… but not too sweet… bbq sauce. Both came with fries that were just as tasty.
One thing to note, this is a pick up only location… no seating area. So if you’re from out of town, be sure to have the cab or über driver wait so you have a ride back to where you were coming from.

Had the rib tips for lunch a few days ago and was thoroughly impressed. I was not the greatest fan of the BBQ, hence the 4 stars, but that is a very subjective statement. The portions were large and daily priced. This is touted as one of the best rib tip places in the city and there is good reason.

Very borderline between 3 and 4 stars. The rib tips were good, just wish there was more of them! The hot link was ok, it was a little over done. Its takeout only and I was mine was sitting in the car for 30 minutes, which is why I didn’t take away points for the food being cold due to the long car ride. Certainly would have been better fresh, but was still enjoyable. Also fries are too soggy regardless of length of drive.

leons used to have a location off of fullerton also. i worked around the corner and visited there frequently. they have the best bbq chicken lunch special. such a shame they closed there. now i have to go far away to get the best bbq in chicago. also the prices are very fair.

I’ve been coming here since i was a kid. i love their hot bbq sauce. Usually get your food with in minutes of you ordering. Their hot link is my favorite but their ribs are a close second.

Usually my favorite place for ribs is Famous Dave’s, but I decided to try something new so I looked up a good place to eat ribs around my area and this was one of the suggestions. The reviews for this place were great so I decided to give it a try. I ordered some ribs and let me tell you this, the service is GREAT, and the food is mother-​freakin’ AMAZING omg, they serve the best freakin’ ribs I’ve bed tried omg. Omg. OMg. OMG and it’s CHEAP like wow. It’s not better than Famous Dave’s, but it’s pretty-freakin’-good so give this place a try. You won’t regret it. I swear on my 3 legged goat that you’ll freakin’ like it.

Been coming here for a looong time; back when the 5 legs deal used to be $ 5 (now its like 4 legs for $ 7?) and they have been consistently delicious. Their chicken and rib tips are awesome.

Im sooooo glad I stopped in tonight. I hadnt been to Leon’s in quite a long time. For some reason I dont recall them ever being THIS GOOOOOD. These rib tips were EXCELLENT. So were the hot links. Everything was SUPERB. Even the fries had a nice juicy fatty flavor covered in BBQ sauce. Naaaaaw I aint on NO DIET!!! Hahaha. Im gonna have to stop in more often!!! Cant believe it took me so long to visit again. Were they ALWAYS this good? lol

Been going here for years and it NEVER disappoints, ever. I can guarantee you’ve never had anything quite this good, Leon’s is simply the best. I literally can’t think of anything they could do better at this place. The fries, ribs, chicken, and sauce are in their own class. The quality of their meat alongside their signature sauce makes it nearly impossible to find a better bbq joint in Chicago. Oh, I also forgot to mention the excellent customer service which makes it all the better!

Their Ribs and Chicken are so fresh, just amazing ! That sauce, well I’ve never tasted any bbq sauce like it. So delicious. I highly recommend. Great staff. I even got a peak of their kitchen/​back area, so clean!

This place was an Institution. It’s the end of an era. It doesn’t appear that this place is going to be around much longer. Loved this place and their Hot Links. I went to the one on South Chicago Ave when I was a teen. I frequented the one on 59th and Racine as an adult until it closed. There will never be another Leons.

I live 40 minutes away yet I drive to Leon’s once a week since I first tried it two months ago. I LOVE their shrimp with the extra spicy bbq sauce! Oh my gosh, it does not get better than this place. I don’t eat meat, only seafood, and Leon’s is just unbelievable. Their fries are so good too. My boyfriend loves the ribs and the hot links.
