Josephine was absolutely wonderful because I was trying to find a decent stylist after having my hair braided before by other salons and the girls braided my hair so tight it actually broke off some of my hair and causing the spot to get thinned out. I was priced $ 90 for my particular style since it’s easy to care for and to remove the braids when the time came. The salon is well maintained and pretty quiet and that’s better than the other salons I went to where I had two people working on my head and talking too much whereas Josephine was the only one working on my head so I will be coming back to get my hair braided by her again. Josephine also can multi task with working on your head while taking calls on her phone and doesn’t lose concentration working on the client’s head. The shop should however consider having a system of booking appointments online and even accepting credit cards for payment because right now cash is the only accepted form of payment for services. Overall I am very happy with my hairstyle and I will be coming back in a couple months for my redoing of braids. The price all depends on what kind of style you want and hair is free unless the stylist tells you what you want requires you to bring your own hair. It’s also conveniently located at a bus stop for those who use public transportation. They accept appointments or walk-​ins but I was told if I am a walk in to call 24 hours in advance to get in for an appointment. They do have a tv so it takes the monotony off the time you’re in the chair but having your cell phone with internet and texting also helps too. Bottom line you can’t go wrong with Josephine she was good.

Josephine is the best. I have short natural hair and called her on a Friday to see if I could come in so that she could look at my hair. When I arrived, she looked at it, suggested individual box braids and then she got started. This was my first time having two people braid my hair and it was totally unexpected that she braided my hair on the spot. She and her friend did a fantastic job and I will definitely be coming back to her as well as recommending her to my friends. Thanks Josephine!!!

I went to this establishment after looking for a place that offered a reasonable price and good service for interlocks on natural hair. Some call it lacing, tree braids, etc. I have very natural kinky, curly, slightly thick but soft hair and wanted a break and something different. Basically I have covered cornrows with deep wavy hair and it looks okay.
My braid technician (Josephine) was nice and relatively fast. I’d called her the previous day, and set up an appointment based on an ad I saw in the yellow pages. I purchased my own hair and it took longer than expected, but she listened to my desires and wishes and gave me feedback accordingly.
I said I 1.) wanted interlock, 2.) did not want the braids too tight around my hairline and 3.) wanted the price we had discussed
She then talked through several hair style choices because she did not recommend interlock for natural hair as it would not last as long. But due to the length of time it takes my hair to be braided in micros and style preference, I declined and she respected that and accepted my final decision. I appreciated her input and the fact that she was not nasty with me. She was professional and did not overbook herself with another client at the same time.
I might have given the shop 3.5 or 4 stars, but I had a strand of hair come out of my braid this week lol. It is also slightly fuzzy as I believe she left some strands of my hair out as well, but that happens sometime. I will wash and condition it, and then give an update if necessary to see how long they will last. They have currently been in 3 weeks and counting…
Overall, I was pleased with the experience and the customer service offered by Josephine at this salon.
