Speaking for business practices only, not restaurants. Tried to buy a high denomination gift card for a wedding gift. Shipping charge is, minimum, $ 7.95. I will be finding an alternate gift. They do have e-gift cards, but I find that tacky for something like a wedding gift.

This review is for LEYE’s private dining planners. I filled out their request form and included a bunch of info looking to get started on planning my wedding. Unfortunately for me, they’re crazy busy and must not need my business, as all I heard was crickets. I was, of course, signed up for their private dining emails, so I guess although I’m not worthy of a return phone call or email, I am good enough for some spam. Thaaanks.

Are your serious? Went to use my points tonight and I can’t on a Saturday… what is the difference? The food, servings and price is the same everyday, but I can’t use my points on a weekend? I spend money all week long on these restaurants and can’t use m y points when I want to? Bull! I’ll stop going to these restaurants, just because of your card.

Every Lettuce Entertain You restaurant is superior. The food is of good quality. The waitstaff and managers are extremely polite and always accomodating to me. I have many food allergies and LEYE goes the extra mile to make my dining experience an excellent one.

There are many things I love about the restaurants on the list. The portions are either appropriate sized or large(no dinky portions), the food is fresh, and the waitstaff is always polite. They run a tight ship. It would be 5 stars except for one thing. L. Woods is a stupid name. It should be called Bones(as it was before it was bought by LEYE). Or maybe the name it had before it became Bones.

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants are by far some of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. They really try to differentiate each restaurant and make them unique in their own way. They have all different concepts which makes this restaurant group different than many others. I have been to their restaurants in Chicago, Minnesota, Las Vegas, and Arizona and never once have I been disappointed. The service is always unbelievably good and the food always stands on its own. I also love that they do the Holiday Gift Cards where you get $ 25 for every $ 100 you send in gift cards, we use them all year round and they never expire. Overall, whenever I am looking for somewhere to eat in Chicago with friends I tend to look at the Lettuce Entertain You website to see what place I have not been to recently before venturing somewhere else.

I feel a little odd writing a review about the corporate headquarters of a restuarant group on Unilocal rather than a particular restaurant, but I suppose it’s the best forum to express how awesome the LEYE customer service is. So my sisters generously send me two LEYE gift cards for my birthday. Interestingly, rather than receiving both cards, I only got one in the mail. A bit fishy. .. I didn’t actually realize this until some later when I went out to use them. I called customer service, and rather than telling me that I was full of sh*t, they actually listened and cared. Caring customer service? Whaaa? Is the sky falling? Perhaps the jaded ex-New Yorker in me is coming out. The experience couldn’t have been better. The people on the other end were quite lovely and helpful in getting me a replacement. God bless their souls.

So forgive them for the stupid play on words of the title of their company. They also have another side of the company that will help you plan events at all their partner restaurants as well with an equally stupid name: Lettuce Planet. Let us plan it. Get it? But I guess its catchy and they are a huge restaurant force to reckon with in Chicago… so… I guess their cheezy marketing works. But regardless of all that, they helped us plan a great client event at Tru. When I first moved to Chicago, I found the show Check Please! on their PBS station, WTTW-Channel 11. Wow. Amazing concept with the most sincere and down to earth wine sommelier, Alpana Singh.
I just have been such a groupie of hers and I was kind of star struck when she was invited to be our guest speaker at our reception at Tru. Wow. The first female sommelier? Her resume is quite impressive. So thank you LEYE for coordinating & just making our event over the top fabulous. Everything was seamless! And so I could finally meet Alpana. She was just as lovely as I thought she might be on TV. I can’t recommend her enough!

I will preface this by saying that I do enjoy LEYE restaurants for the most part, which helps this rating. My man particularly enjoys Wow Bao, and as part of his Christmas gift I decided to get him a gift card. I was in Water Tower Place and walked to the 1st floor location. Aside from being barely intelligible, the guy there waived me upstairs with a vertical point of the index finger, stating I can buy a gift card upstairs on the mezzanine level. So, I escalate upstairs, past the popping water ball feature thingy, directly above where I had been standing. Wow Bao banners, but no Wow Bao. I’m not familiar with Water Tower Place, so this is irritating, but not completely surprising. I wander back thru Macy’s and see a sign for the mezz level, below. I escalate downwards and see a kiosk for LEYE gift cards, «Buy your LEYE gift cards HERE!!!» I stand for a few minutes until I walk over to the women at the food court entrance(who had been in plain view of the kiosk). I ask them where I could buy a gift card. One tells me the kiosk is closed. Well, THANKYOU, Helpful One! How long did you see me standing there before you thought to bestow that little nugget on me? Apparently, I was to walk to the back of the food court area and purchase it from the hostess at Mity Nice Grill. Apparently I also need a small purple paper pass for passage. I accept it. After a few moments, said hostess emerges and tells me to go to the bar — which will be the 4THLOCATION I HADBEENREFERREDTO — to buy the damn card. To his credit, the barkeep was pleasant and efficient and handled my transaction swiftly between taking orders from a leering boomer and his tipsy trophy. After being harangued for not immediately giving the purple paper pass back to the suddenly acutely aware woman up front, I enjoy the popping water ball feature thingy again on my way out. Communication, people. I didn’t mind going elsewhere from the first location to buy the card, just don’t send me on a wild goose chase to do so!

Not sure what Takelya is talking about, unless she drunkenly crashed an office party. These are the corporate headquarters for Lettuce — it’s an office, people.
