Links has remained a great establishment for over two year now. They continue to freshen up the food menu, the beer selection and bottle section is absolutely amazing each and every time I visit and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Keep up the good work Links and happy two year anniversary!

This place is as awesome as it gets! Super sick digital beer tap system that allows you to see how far along the keg is and what beers are on tap. The food is great, especially if your looking to try something different. Definitely worth the visit to stop in grab some food, beer, and do some fun stuff in the neighborhood. Great spot to go with a group of friends or even just a couple people. Every sauce on the menu is a MUST try. Haven’t tried the brunch menu yet, looking forward to making a day out of that as well!

This is a case of me thinking I would really hate a bar because I thought it would be golf themed based on the name(it’s not, for the record), but ended up actually kind of liking it. I think the main reasons are because: (a) They actually have a good beer selection (b) They have a board telling you how much beer is left for each beer. The interior is really nothing to write home about, but if you need a place with an actual good beer selection in the area that’s not pretentious and presented in an actual semi-unique way, I’d recommend giving this place a try.

Great spot, with great beer list, great links, and great guys working there. I came here to meet a friend for beer, food and Bears and this place is perfect for just that. They have a digital list of all beers on tap with an exact measurement of how much is left in the keg. I thought that was cool and helpful. I liked all the beers I had here, but the one that stood out the most was Firestone Walker’s Viaje which is a Stock Ale aged in Mezcal barrels. Man oh man was it good. For food, we started with an order of their Buried Alive Fries. They were good, but not great. They sounded a lot better on paper with chorizo sausage, bacon, cheddar, green onion, giardiniera + 2 dips. The link I got made up for it. I got one they had on special that came with a ton of blue cheese and beer braised onions. For a place named«Links» you’d hope their links are good. They do not disappoint. There is no question I’d come back here.

Tis the season to be tipsy, fa-la-la-la you get my point. This is the spot we decided to go to after we got kicked out of our own Christmas party. OK I made that last part up, but it sounds cooler than we went here after our party was over. What a pleasant surprise and in Wicker Park of all places. I haven’t had a pleasant surprise in Wicker Park since the magic drink tab incident of 2011, but that is for another time to discuss. We pretty much took this place over on a late Friday afternoon, and the drinks… they was a flowing! I was already feeling the warm and fuzzies from all the various alcoholic beverages I consumed earlier. Let’s just say this place gave me a gentle push to the slippery slope of inebriation. Not full on raging drunk, but I was right at its doorstep. This place has a great beer selection on tap, I wish I could remember the beers that I drank that was suggested to me by the knowledgeable bartenders. I could barely remember where I had parked my car. Not to worry my fellow Unilocalers, I made sure to sober up before the voyage home. This is where plenty of water came in, and I was helped by the food we ordered that soaked up all the liquor. I am definitely going to come back here when I have full access of my motor skills, but from what I remember this place was pretty damn good.

I love this bar. They have a great digital menu for beers, which shows how far down the keg the draft is and what type of glass it’ll be served in. And the brats/fries are delicious!

When visiting Chicago, this was one of my favorite spots. Their list of beers was superb. The handles rotate frequently, and they make it clear which beers on on ‘stand by’ for when their current kegs run their course. I was here for«sour week» and they had an incredible selection of sours from across the US to try for this special event. If you like craft beer, I highly recommend Links!

I decided to visit this place after seeing some of the reviews on Unilocal.Stopped in on a Saturday night and I expected it to be insanely crowded but it wasn’t too bad. They have this incredible selection of beer on tap and what’s even more fascinating is they have this live updated to the minute accurate keg meter so they can tell you how much is left in each keg. When you sit at the bar they hand you a tablet and it has the entire beer menu on there together with the little meter for each keg. I had a raspberry wheat which was really quite good. I ordered a bahn mi dog and it was very good also. Everything is a la carte on this menu pretty much so I also ordered a basket of fries. Those were not so good they were teeny and cold and I think they called a matchstick fries, I’m not sure but they weren’t up to the standards of the rest of the food for sure. If you want to get a sauce for your dog or your fries they charge you extra for that. The service was pretty friendly if a tiny bit distracted. There were definitely some local regulars there at the bar and a lot of the customers and bartender seem to know each other by name which is always good but on some level I think it distracts the servers from the rest of the patrons. I would definitely come back here again

I finally got around to trying the food here one night recently, and I’m glad I did. We came here on a Wednesday night and not much was going on so the place was pretty empty. I think their special was $ 2 off salads. There was a Cubs game on that we wanted to watch, but the bartender couldn’t get anything to play on the TVs for some reason… And he didn’t put much effort into it, so that was disappointing. He kinda had a very carefree attitude the entire time he served us, but whatever, who cares if your customers are happy, amirite? Anyway, the meat and cheese board immediately caught our eye, so we started with that. We could have probably been plenty full after sharing it. It came with good sized portions of chicken, chorizo and polish sausages, as well as goat, asiago and roquefort cheeses. The best part was that it came with three of our own tiny bottles of different types of mustard! Can’t get enough of that condiment. The honey was the best. The pickles and pretzels were almost an afterthought because the meats were so good. Even though we were almost full from the meat and cheese board, I ordered the seared tuna salad. It was on the smaller side which was great considering I’d just stuffed my face with meat and cheese, but still very good. My boyfriend got the 3 chile chorizo sausage with giardiniera and devoured it quickly so it must have been good. And of course, we washed our meals down with a few different drafts from their long and varied draft list. If we had stayed around we would’ve played a game or two of connect four but we wanted to head out to check the rest of the baseball game. We’ll definitely be back here though for the meat and cheese board alone!

Strictly based on the beer. This was another random drop in. They had a pretty cool setup. Electronic beer menus that displayed the beer name, type, glass served in, and how much was left on tap. I found that to be pretty awesome and informative. You can check out board games. They play actual record as their musical entertainment. Oh, and the staff is nice. They also had a cool outdoor/indoor seating area for the people watchers. I can tell if come back to this place if I lived here.

Links Taproom is pretty good. Not great, but pretty darn good. Plusses: Nice space. You can have tastes of their eclectic beer selection before you order. And do take tastes if you don’t know exactly what you are doing. Some of the beers are not what they would seem to be. They do have several beers I have not seen elsewhere in the city. Workers are nice. Good location near the Damen blue line stop. Food was tasty. Minuses: I’m an idiot and didn’t see the word«link» in the descriptions of the banh mi and the reuben. I was expecting sammiches and got dogs. No servers, you have to get everything from the bar or the food counter. I feel like a place specializing in high-end beers and sausages should have waiters/waitresses. Not a great value for the food. And the food was slooooowwwwwww to come out, especially considering there were 10 – 12 other people in the place. Not busy and slow for food that is not that complicated = frustrating, especially when you have a clear view into the kitchen and can see people moving very unurgently. Good place. Good enough I’ll stop in next time I’m in this ‘hood, not good enough I’ll go out of my way to make it back.

I absolutely loved Links Taproom and foresee myself coming back here often. I’ve been meaning to try them out forever and finally had the chance this past Thursday night. I took a seat up at the bar and perused the menu. The menu that was handed to me on an iPad mini. Links has the coolest menu board up on the wall and for patrons to check out. It not only gives you your beer options, but the percentage, type of beer, brewery location, but also how much is left on draught. Really interesting information to have. Also, I was hit with a bunch of craft standards but also some cool beers I had never even heard of. The bartender taking care of me was just great. Not overly invasive at all but really helpful in steering me well in my beer selections. I ordered a Root Beer beer(Forbidden Fruit) and he said Wellllll, let me give you a taste first. It’s not the typical Root Beer beer people are used to because of A, B and C. I’m so glad he did because I ended up ordering a different drink. Now being at a place that specializes in sausages, I of course had to get myself one. A friend of mine was telling me he went to Links a few weeks ago and I said OoOo, how were their links?! And he said, Oh… I didn’t realize that’s what they are known for. I nearly punched him. So much on their menu was making my mouth water but I ended up getting the classic Chicken link. It comes with a sauce and a topping and I’m confident I got the right combination of ingredients because it was friggin amazeballs! On my sausage was lemon, garlic, rosemary, honey mustard and a bacon slaw. A.Bacon.Slaw. You must try this! The dog ran me $ 8 and I think it was worth every cent. I’m really quite the fan of Links Taproom and can’t stop gushing about it today. I think part of why I fared so well here was that I went on a weekday so didn’t face their normal weekend crowds. That’s my protip for this review: Always go to amazing places on weekdays and with it not being packed to the brim, you will end up enjoying yourself significantly more.

Links Taproom is the saving grace that the six corners of Wicker Park has desperately needed for years! Unlike its’ counterparts in the neighborhood, Links is pristinely clean, has friendly service, the best beer selection in the neighborhood besides maybe B&L, and most of all, delicious food! Some of the tvs features an interactive beer menu, telling you the brewery, type of beer, name of the beer, ABV, type of glass it’s served in, price, and most importantly, how much of the keg is left with stoplight style color coding! Just amazing. This helps the laycustomer choose easily by prioritizing the beers that are about to run out. How innovative of you, Links Taproom. While the setup is a bit unorthodox, it works. Like any bar during peak hours, it is difficult to get a drink; however this should be expected anywhere. They do a great trivia night on Tuesdays and feature special event beer tappings on the reg. They also play vintage records that feature some amazing variety! If you choose to eat, I highly recommend any of the specialty sausages. I’ve tried the duck, the Cajun, the curry, and the Korean — all amazing. While not as utterly amazing as Hot Doug’s, Links has definitely capitalized on their closing. Let’s get serious, who could replicate them? On the regular menu, the steak & ale and chorizo are both tasty. Also go for the Buried Alive Fries or the cheese curds. For a different experience than you’re used to at Six Corners, head to Links. It’s like hanging out in your buddy’s basement, but it’s clean and features a second-to-none beer and sausage selection.

After visiting Links for the Breakfast of Champions event last weekend — a tapping of Canadian Breakfast Stout and Kentucky Breakfast Stout paired with crazy delicious spent-grain pancakes — I feel the need to write an update on what has been and is still one of my favorite beer places in the city of Chicago. When I first reviewed Links, it was pretty new. Since then, they have established themselves well in the beer community. Links consistently has several beers on draft that I have never tried, and that is quite an achievement. A huge portion of the menu is dedicated to local breweries, and the bartenders are always very nice about letting you try several beers before making a decision. The attitude is unpretentious, which, in my opinion, pretentiousness and snobbery have been a bit of a problem in the beer world lately. I(still) love the ordering system. Besides the impressive digital beer menus on display, there are beer ordering and food ordering windows that you approach whenever you need a refill or want some food. In my experience, this type of service model allows people in a group to pace themselves, order food whenever they want, and not have to worry about splitting checks or wait for a waitress for 20 minutes while you have an empty drink. It’s very west coast. I wish more places in Chicago were like this. I have attended a couple of great events at Links lately. St. Patrick’s day was celebrated on March 14th, but on actual St. Patricks day(The 17th) Links put 10 different rare imperial stouts on draft, including Lost Abbey Angel’s share and Track 10, to showcase what real stouts are all about. Yum. Also, that Breakfast of Champions event was really cool, and the ticketing system they used smoothly allowed everyone a guaranteed pour. I’m looking forward to returning, and I wanna get my hands on some of those cheese curds and wings.(put the wings on every day! they’re so good!)

Review by Becky and Deanna: We hate hate hate hate this bar! We’ve been here twice and won’t be returning. It’s just way too much work to get a drink or food! The set up is extremely weird and there are never any waitresses! This place is like a fast food restaurant?!? You have to order food and drinks from the counter like you are at McDonalds or something! Also there are only very high tables and tall stools. Very hard to get on and off the stools if you are a short person and will cause you pain and discomfort if you sit on them for more than 10 minutes. Not enjoyable having to climb up and down the stools everytime you need a new drink! Staff has a major attitude problem and food is just mediocre.
