Fantastic place. Cheap to get in and BYOB. The sound isn’t perfect, I got a lot of beer spilled on me and I met some intresting people hanging out in the lot next door used for urination. It really made me appricate the smoking band on proper venues.

It’s so goofy that a DIY show space is on Unilocal, and that I’m reviewing it. This is probably my favorite place for shows. Walking distance to my house, BYOB, and always good friends around. My only complaint is the smoke, but I was one of the ones causing it before I quit in December so I’ll just suck it up. No pun intended. And I don’t know what shows these people are going to who are talking about it being filled with teenagers, but I’d guess the majority of the people I see there are in their late 20’s or 30’s.

alright, so i have the same issues with the place that all the other reviewers do. aside from the fact that many of their shows are the same bands over and over(what’s up sass dragons/das kapital), this place has its own weird-ass mystique that you just can’t argue with. the occasional hardcore shows also make this place totally worth it.

Here’s the deal. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the type of scene this place caters to. I think it’s fantastic that the Lucky Gator Loft provides a homespun venue for smaller bands to perform. That said, I’m past the point in my life where I want to stand in a humid loft, listen to poorly mic’ed bands and drink with 19 year-olds. This is a good place to go if… your parents said you can stay out late.

Love it. Hope it doesn’t get closed down by the cops or the people decide to move out. With the ending of the People Project I declare Lucky Gator my new favorite DIY show space.

This place would have gotten way more stars if I was still 15.

This place is like camping. It is in-tents. After the show last night featuring Das Kapital, Bridge and Tunnel and The Catburglars, I am convinced that this place is the epicenter of Midwest Punk Rock. I drank. I danced. There was beer being spilled. There was beer being spit. After a decade of going to Punk Rock shows I can seriously say that the show last night was what a Punk show is all about. Jesus Herman Christ, it made having to work for ten hours today hell but fuck, it was worth it.
