I ordered food from this restaurant a lot of times. Delivery is always fast… food is warm and delicious. They deserve 5 stars. I don’t know who can write those bad reviews. Their breakfasts are awesome. You won’t be disappointed. And delivery guy is always very nice

STAYAWAY!!! We waited 2 hours for our food, then called to see where it could possibly be(ordered pancakes and eggs!!)… Rude woman on the phone said«sorry we got busy» and hung up! We asked for order to be cancelled because it hadnt even left for DELIVERY when we called. On top of THAT, the f&*!ers still charged us!!! Unacceptable!

I honestly was really disappointed when we went some time back. The first time we went was wonderful and when we went to go in we didn’t see the sign on the door that had changed hours until 3pm. We had gotten there around 2:30 and was told as we went to walk in, the door barely open that they were closed. No sorry no explanation just Were closed. The staff that my boyfriend and I saw were just standing at the counter talking and didn’t seem pleased to see us. A simple hey sorry we changed hours would have been fine but nope just a We’re closed and a very unpleasant look on her face. We ended up going else where and as of now have no intention on going back. I get it that it was on our part that we didn’t see the sign on the door but she really didn’t need to be rude about it.

We found this place by accident and we’re glad we did! I had a wrap that was really good and big enough that I didn’t finish it! Outdoor sidewalk dining is small but if you can get a table it’s still enjoyable! Our server was a young girl who was very friendly and attentive. The place was packed and there were several takeout orders picked up. I’d say it’s a good find!

Possibly the worst pancakes I’ve had. Bland weird aftertaste. The hashbrowns were pretty much mashed potatoes no type of crisp texture. Coffee was bad. I was so hoping to find the classic diner food breakfast, this place sure did disappoint. Over priced for subpar food.

Saying edible dog food is a disservice to what my dog eats. The only thing worse than overcharged food is sevice you get on the phone. Every delivery order is messed up and when you ask to get it fixed they refer you to Grubhub because the retards that work there rather put 18 ketchups with your order than get it right. The orange juice is the only thing that’s worth getting here. Biscuits and Gravy frozen and with bag gravy and can sausage, skillets with cheese harder than talcott. Avoid at all costs. $ 32 order for those 2 things. Look at the reviews, everything from the last year will tell you everything you need to know.

I come here for breakfast any chance I get. Best breakfast around if you love that diner experience like me. Great prices and great food. All the people have always been very nice. Just love this place!

Went yesterday(11÷1÷14) at 3:40PM to meet a group that was already there. The hours posted on Unilocal stated that they were open until 8pm. As soon as we entered the snippy waitress addressed us(2 adults and 2 children) that they closed at 4pm. We indicated that the website stated otherwise and were given no apologies but that the cook had closed down the gril. A party came in behind us with 4 people and were told the same thing. So while our other friends sat and ate we left starving. I have never heard of a restaurant where you entered 20 minutes before close refusing service! I always loved Lucky Grill and have been going for a long time. But sadly never again. What horrible service. Its not like we were ordering anything that would take long and would have been out of there quick. Also I am a very good tipper and that waitress lost out big time. Very disappointed. We ordered Dinos Pizz on Higgins and it was awesome!

Strawberry crepes were amazing. Orange juice was fresh and delicious. I got delivery. Which was great, and didn’t even have to call because they are in grubhub. Sweet breakfast that I really enjoyed.

Not sure why people seem to love this place so much. Maybe their taste buds have dulled from a lifetime of smoking. I can sum up my experience in one word — Crummy. I had the lucky grill skillet with scrambled eggs. The eggs and potatoes were fine, but the bacon was flavorless and the sausage tasted like it had been frozen for a year. I’m quite certain the vegetables were also frozen. As for my toast, the middle of one side had some dark lines on it, but the edges and the entire reverse side were barely toasted at all. The décor is simply depressing. The service was adequate, but it seemed like none of the staff really wanted to be there. And I couldn’t tell if there was as manager present. Lucky Grill gave me no reason to return. There are a lot of better places to go for breakfast.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Seriously THEBEST hollandaise sauce ever!!! Their eggs benedict rocks!!! In fact, EVERY single time we have eaten here, which has been very often, the food is delicious and fresh. They have homemade soups that are amazing! Super friendly service and home-like feel. Will continue to come back here time and time again! Thanks Lucky Grill for wonderful service and fantastic food!!!

Walk in, sit anywhere you like. Parking might be a bit hard to find I suggest park on Canfield. I had the Irish skillet, food arrived quick. Good quantity, taste good(I’m not too much of a breakfast person), taste a bit mild to me so I added salt and Tabasco sauce. I’d say its better than ihop at about the same price. I’d like to come back and try the other dishes.

A decent little diner in a unassuming location with pretty standard diner fare. I’ve been meaning to go here since we live so close, but since they recently had a Groupon and we have no kitchen due to remodeling we decided last night was out«Lucky» night. I got a burger, DH got a patty melt and we got a child’s breakfast. One waitress for the whole restaurant means we waited a little bit to place our order, but she was very friendly. Food was prepared in a respectable amount of time and was served hot. Meals came with soup which was quickly brought and simple but tasty. The patrons behind us said the breakfasts are the best, so we will be back for that soon… we have 2 more Groupons to use, but we would go back anyhow. Prices were pretty standard for a diner. Restaurant was slightly dirty, but with one wait person she probably doesn’t have a chance to tidy up too often. Nothing that grossed me out, just an observation.

I have been here many times, i think they have the best skillets in the city, but then i have also learned their homemade soup is fantastic and now I would add their Cobb Salad is fantastic a well. So in review, great breakfast, the soup its over the top, the salad i had today was really fresh, and oh yeah the waitress Nicole is cute and friendly. This pretty well covers it. Every one should cover this place a try

Discovered this gem of a restaurant is right in my neighborhood. The skillets are amazing. I’ve also been here for lunch. The patty melt was great. Loved the onion rings. Looking forward to sampling the entire menu. My wife and I decided to make this our Saturday morning breakfast place.

wife and I each had a skillet. Mine was absolutely delicious. Our little guys devoured their mickey mouse pancakes at a rate that made others wonder if we ever feed them. would go back there for breakfast, without hesitation. can’t speak to lunch of dinner but i’m sure it satisfies the belly but leaves the intellect with pangs of guilt.

Our house was bombarded with menus from this place. Seriously, two menus on our front door, one on our side door and one on our back gate. We figured if they were that serious about distributing menus that we should give them a try. So glad we did! I had a corned beef hash skillet with a mini waffle. I ordered the eggs basted and they were cooked perfectly. Most of the time when I order basted eggs the yolks are completely hard, these were PERFECT. The mini waffles were yum, an excellent toast substitution. We were there with a table of 5 and everyone loved their breakfasts. This might be our new go-to spot!

The Irish breakfast was tasty but you have to ask for a side of baked beans to make it complete. Otherwise, it was really good. Seating was a breeze on a Sunday morning. I will say the pricing is kinda unique. I’ve never seen items given such exact prices(the Irish breakfast was priced at $ 9.53). We’ll be coming back for sure…

Four stars? Really? I weep for Chicago if the lucky is the best breakfast place in this area… I like diners; I like greasy spoons; I like home-style cooking; I love breakfast food. This place should’ve been a holy grail. Instead it was holy meh. Sat in a booth(had a huge worn-out crater in the middle; sitting on either side, I felt like I was being sucked toward a black hole), and was promptly greeted by waitress who offered coffee. I accepted. Browsed the menu and decided on an omelet with the side of pancakes(«Breakfast Club #4). A glass of water and my coffee appeared; I placed my order. Just as I was taking a sip of coffee, the entire row of booths that I was sitting in shifted violently; an extremely large man was trying to wedge himself into one of the booths, and with every heave, he was literally moving 3 other booths’ worth of people. Everyone took notice, except for the rotund fellow… He just kept grunting and shoving himself into the booth. Ok… that was fun. Waitress refilled coffee and said the food would be out in a bit. Food arrived within 10 minutes of placing the order. The omelet was over-cooked; I’m not a huge fan of a wet omelet, but this one was literally crispy. The«hash browns» were really American fries — big«chips» of charred potatoes; there were far too many in the omelet. Onion and peppers were nearly absent. I’ve never had a dry, crispy, taste-devoid omelet in my life… until today. The side of pancakes were nicely cooked, but tasted like cardboard. The imitation syrup was another strike. I love me some pancakes, but these were inedible. Whomever said they were«sweet enough» must have been referring to the high-fructose corn syrup«syrup» because the actual pancakes were dreadful. And, the coffee wasn’t anything to talk about, so strike three. Lucky Grill = FAIL Food = 1.75 stars Service = 3 stars Value = 2 stars(inexpensive, but I’d rather have eaten at McDonalds, and I hate McDs) MISC = 2 stars To top off the visit, I overheard the large gentleman placing his order, and almost had a grabber myself… two cheeseburgers with fried onions, french fries, coke, and a bowl of broccoli cheese soup. Yikes.
