Only because i had to give atleast one star! Went here as this is one of the only places I can barely catch open when i get off work. The nail tech at the front door was EXTREMELYYYYYYRUDE!!! She got an attitude with me after i told her she was burning me with the drill after about the fifth time. I told her if she was in a rush she did not have to do them and she said«FINE!!!»

the worst nail place i’ve ever been to!!! my nails were not even done properly! my hair kept getting tangle with my nails thats how horrible they were! i asked before getting started with my nails if they were able to do cheetah print, they told me they did. at the end the cheetah didnt even look like what i asked for they looked like polka dots. the same day that i was there, next to me there was a young girl who asked for gel nails. i saw with my own eyes how the guy didnt even do gel he just did acrylic. poor girl i felt bad & they still tip him like $ 10. i should of just walked alway but i waas already in a hurry so i stood! there was another girl as well who was complaining about how horrible they did her desgin ! i will never again go to this unprofessional place!!! worst place i’ve been to for real!!!

If you don’t want your nails to look like a five year old did them, then don’t go here! I walked in requesting a soak off. Instead, they yanked my nails off(something I could’ve done at home if I wanted to be in pain) but whatever, it was already late so i couldnt go somewhere else. I decided to get a gel overlay because my nails were so thin. The overlay wasn’t bad, but the clumpy, cheap nail polish was horrible & didn’t look any better on my nails. Ugh, never again.

NEVER go on a weekend. Go early as possible. Ghetto… is all I have to say. Prices are standard. I’ve been going here for yeeeeeeaaaarrrssssss, Tanyia is the owner. She isn’t always there so I usually call. I don’t like anyone else doing my eye brows… if Tanyia isn’t around and I’m desperate, her daughter Christine is my next option. Anyone else, don’t come near me.

My friend introduced me to this place a few years ago. It’s close to where I live and therefore I’ve given this place a shot a few times. The thing is, they’re really inconsistent. This is the reason why my friend starts going to other salons, but she usually comes back. Things I don’t care for about this salon: 1 — The smell! 2 — The attitude 3 — The fact that they feel the need to ask me a few times if I’m getting my eyebrows done… they ask everyone, but damn, quit making me feel like my eyebrows look jacked! 4 — The shitty parking lot it’s located in If you go, go to Steven… at least if you’re going to do pink-and-whites. There is also one lady who’s horrible, but I always forget who it is until I see her. The plus is that their manicures are pretty inexpensive. I’ve paid $ 25-$ 30 for french tips and my friend paid $ 45 for pink-and-whites and a pedicure. You just really have to know who to go to and who to avoid. Oh, and this place is located in a little strip mall like area in Humboldt Park, keep that in mind. Frequently there are children in the salon who feel the need to leave an item of theirs on every chair or run around. Sometimes the parents stop them, sometimes they don’t. If you can’t handle children then this might not be the best place, or you definitely need to go early. I’ve also had fun conversations with obvious regulars. It’s an alright place, nothing to go out of your way for, but also not a place to run from screaming.

Magic touch is inexpensive and close to my house. I do wish that their spa was cleaner, though I’ve never have had a problem directly with getting infections or fungus from their tools. I wish their nailpolish was better quality it can chip easily if you are not careful.

I was hopeful because this place is right outside my door — but I suggest you save your money for a bus ride to someplace less creepy. It isn’t particularly clean and seeing the rather dingy stations I decided just to get a polish change instead of a full on mani-pedi — this sort of strange old man did my finger and toe polish change and even that made me a little nervous — the results were pretty sloppy and the whole atmosphere just made me cringe. The guy did some cuticle work on my hands that was seriously suspect.

4 stars for the eyebrow wax. –3 stars for cleanliness. I may change my rating if I ever get my nails done here…
