I gave him my price range and showed him what I wanted and he made exactly that– a perfect, custom, diamonds by the inch necklace. He provided me with several diamond options and gave fair advice around my options. He educated me a great deal without any pressure to purchase. Peter really made the whole experience very easy for me and I immediately knew I was going with them.
Overall the experience was amazing, I was more than taken care of and I could not be happier with the end result. Malnekoff Jewelers will be my go to jeweler every time I need something.

In terms of engagement rings, Peter is legit. Straight to the point, no B.S. and willing to go the extra mile! I did my research and was in contact with many jewelers, so I had a very good idea of what I was looking for… Not only did he help me find it (and at a damn good cost), he helped me take it to the next level with a beautiful design, and very original design! He also went the extra mile by allowing me to tweak the design, not once, but twice! If you’re looking for a quality ring that will blow her away, look no further!

My father and grandfather both bought their wives’ rings from Malnekoff Jewelers, so when I was planning to get engaged, there was only one place to go. Peter worked with me to create custom-​designed, absolutely beautiful rings that fit within my budget. He had the finished rings ready on short notice so I could pop the question as planned.
When there was a minor problem with one of the rings, Peter worked with us and paid the costs for a short-​term fix at a local jeweler (we live in a different state), and then handled the shipping and repairs when we were able to send it back to him. It looked better than new when it arrived back with us.
Peter knows his stuff, does great work, and cares a lot about his customers. I would absolutely recommend Malnekoff jewelers to anybody looking for a trustworthy jeweler in Chicagoland.

I ran into Peter after looking through the display cases in the building lobby with my aunt and noticing his display had a few pieces with the unique (near antique but modern) design we were looking for. After weeks of back and forth between jewelers and stores looking for an engagement ring that fit my ‘engineering’ standards (as some other places called it — AKA calling me knowing what I want as being picky) after talking with Peter and seeing his displays, booklets, and awards/​certifications, I knew this was the place.
We started working out the design and meeting to look at stones immediately and after picking one, he realized the diamond cutter he got the chosen stone from had overpriced it and he contacted me to return the difference to me (a huge savings in my court)! Not only did he support my meticulous custom design for the ring, he loved it and gave excellent input making it the simple, beautifully unique, and expertly crafted ring that could only perfectly fit my lady love.

I’ve known Peter for well over 15 years and have purchased many diamonds from him, including my wife’s wedding ring, earrings, bracelets, etc. The service was always excellent and the pricing seemed fair for the quality/​service. A couple of years ago, something went wrong with the business. I put several thousand dollars down on a custom design piece. After a few rounds, we decided against the proposed designs and cancelled the project. Peter said he would keep a small design fee and refund the balance. Well, he never did. Excuses about slow business, cash flow problems, personal problems lead to nothing but delays, small periodic payments and recently, a bad check. This business is obviously on the ropes — stay away…

After speaking with dozens of other jewelers in the area, I can tell you in confidence that Peter is extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. My Fiancé’ and I decided to design a ring together. Peter was recommended to us by my best friend and her Fiancé’. In fact, Peter’s father did her parents ring, when they got engaged! Peter was the best. He had great ideas, and was respectful of our budget and our tight timeline. I wanted to wear my new ring in my best friends wedding, and he was able to pull it off quickly and beautifully! We can’t wait to go back for our wedding bands :)

My sister recommended this place, and I was glad I made the trip. There are a lot of jewelers on Wabash in Chicago, but Malnekoff jewelers really took the time to explain and show a lot of different options for an engagement ring. My fiancé loved her ring and we went back to get the wedding band done.
