Super bowl just got better, Marcellos has a deal going for about forty bucks you get a medium pizza with 2 ingredients, a order of wings and a pitcher of beer and it’s not mgd or bud it’s the good stuff.

Used to frequent this place a lot for lunch when I worked down that way. Today I took my mom, sis and two aunts. Had to argue with them to go there when there are so many restaurants down that way. Well the only good thing about our visit was our waiter Bob. We were seated quickly and brought the flat bread and garlic butter. Asked for bread and butter and had to wait forever. Which surprised me because they have their own bakery. Then the food came. My aunt specified that her chicken parmigiana was not to be on top of her pasta. It was. My sister ordered aglio olio pasta. The pasta came with some red sauce on it and all clumped together. My mom and my other aunts pasta was definitely old. Not even warm and neither was my soup. Then the worse news was my pizza. Did they forget the original recipe. Could have got what I had at a bowling alley. When we asked for a manager a young woman came over in a sweat suit. Then another man came over to offer us a free dessert for the table. We said that wasn’t good enough so he took off 25%off our check. My sister didn’t end up eating at all except for her salad. Not a good visit at all. Will never go back and recommend you don’t either.

I love Marcello’s. The service is very spot on. The pizza is my family’s favorite. You wont be disappointed.

I absolutely love their pizza. Sausage and pepperoni is the best. Fantastic, friendly service and awesome food.

We love this place! Can be a bit pricey depending on what you select. We always start out with the complimentary flat breads with garlic butter. Yum… ask for as much as you want. Our favorite is the Veggie Chopped Salad. Mixed veggies and greens chopped finely, very colorful, topped with candied walnuts looks so appetizing. It’s definitely big enough to share! We get an appetizer to share as well and we’re stuffed. We always ask for Zemel as our waiter. He is awesome. Knowledgable on the menu, attentive, and very personable. Beautifully decorated restaurant, especially during any of the holidays! Huge party room too! They also have a good rewards program that earns points for future discounts.

If good basic service is what you expect then you need to avoid this resturant like a plague. It took several different people to get water refills and utensils on the table and refill of crackers after having to flag down several people as we were never able to get anyone’s attention. They show a rude disregard for their customers and the food is mediocre at best.

We walked in on Friday evening and sat down to experience some great cooking! We started with garlic bread, which was good, but would have been a little better if there was some marinara sauce to accompany the bread. While I was perusing the menu I zeroed in on the Famous Broasted Chicken, with BBQ sauce, sounded great! I also ordered a side of rice pilaf. The chicken was very moist and juicy, once I got passed the overpowering BBQ sauce, it was a little too pungent for my taste, the side of rice was too much, it seems like there was over a pound of rice to accompany the chicken.
My partner ordered the chicken piccatta, which he found to be of good taste. The décor was pleasantly appointed and the service was great, the waitperson was very attentive.
I would go back to Marcello’s but I would probably order something else, the bbq sauce just killed it for me personally.

I like Marcellos, I don’t love it, but I think the food is done pretty well. It can get kind of pricey depending on what you get, but at least it’s tasty. My favorite here is the steak sandwich on garlic bread and I add cheese. Mind you it’s a 20 dollar Sammie but hot damn it’s good!
I’ve also a chicken sandwich, salad, and thin crust pizza. All really tasty. I think this place does the majority of their business from private parties, but I keep going there regardless. I beleive they deliver alcohol too.

Marcello’s did an awesome catering out wedding. They were the most reasonably priced option on the Chicago Park District caterer list and they offered great food and great service. Michael was very professional and responsive and helped with many little things during the wedding day. The servers and bartenders were absolutely excellent. Can’t speak more highly of them!

I have been going to Marcellos/​Father and Son, since I was a child. Very classy place that is affordable and actually has good food. For us young 20 year olds, great spot to take a girl out on a date. The sauce is excellent which may sound strange, but it really is. Service is great and friendly. Delivery times are pretty fast. The only thing is they stopped serving angel hair pasta which was my favorite. They do have a parking lot and as I said earlier it’s a good place to take a girl on a date that will make you look good and won’t break your wallet. O the brownies are fire, get the fudge walnut, you will not regret it. –H

Marcello’s is one of my fave restaurants. I have the rewards card, once you spend $ 600 you get a $ 25 off coupon and it resets back to 0. I’ve gotten about 5 $ 25 off coupons in 2 years so that should tell you how often I used to come here. I say used to because we moved out of Old Town into the burbs in December and only made it back there once since. My daughter wanted to come for her 7^th birthday dinner but our schedule didn’t allow for us to make the two hour round trip drive. We will definitely make it back sometime in the next couple of weeks for a belated birthday celebration. We’ve yet to find a restaurant nearby to call our spot like we did with Marcello’s :(

A Chicago long-​term institution that I have passed 100s of times: finally I had no excuse one Saturday afternoon to finally try it out after returning a Zipcar in the area around 3pm. The place was pretty dead which was nice since I was hot and tired, it was generously cooled in the summer. Service was prompt and friendly, the menu is huge with many options. We shared the Thai salad which was enough for 2 on its own, in addition to the spinach lasagna that appeared to be yet another meal for 2 – 3. Huge portions and reasonably priced, we were hungry enough to eat it all. They have an attached bakery/​café and we got a box full of assorted lovely cookies for a concert that night. Great neighborhood gem!

The spinning class of carry out. When I am too tired/​lazy to do a real workout at the gym, I take a spinning class. You hide in the dark and go through the motions to get some exercise. When I am too lazy./tired to make food, go to the grocery store, go to a real restaurant or drive someplace, I get a 4 piece white meat carryout chicken dinner. Certainly A-​OK. about $ 20 with tax and tip. Plenty for 2 – comes in a paper box that you can eat out of! PLUS – I can order, pick up and finish eating in about the same hour that a spinning class takes. Their Pizza is also good.

Great interior, wonderful service, decent food, pleasant music. Great place for any type of gathering. Especially impressed by how clean the place is!

Our last experience here was weak, but that was at the bakery. So the bakery is terrible, specifically the inedible éclair. Today we went to the restaurant and it was tasty.
We hit the Thursday $ 6 martini special.
The drinks here are good.
I had grilled teriyaki salmon that looked like a mess (see photo) but was in fact good. A little too sweet but good.
The wife fully enjoyed her ribs (see photo indicating that all meat fell from the bone). Cole slaw with horseradish went perfectly with the ribs. The sauce is a little sweet and bland, requiring that it be combined with the cole slaw. She insists that the twice baked potato is the best she has had in any restaurant.
We shared spumoni gelato. This was a fail.
Freezer burnt and grainy. Stay away from
desserts here.

I have moved nearby and hoped I had found a new neighborhood spot, but alas not quite! Food is good, bar is also nice and you can park (does not apply to me) The negative is the attitude of the manager. Just not welcoming, worm or in any way friendly. I have tried them on 5 – 6 occasions and just not a great feeling! Oh well, there are lots of other spots.

This place has been one of my favorites for some time… until last night. We had a $ 4 off coupon and I met the delivery driver at the entrance to the building but had forgotten it in my apartment. The total was already adjusted but I asked if he wanted me to run back up and get it. He said I could keep it and «as long as you take care of me, I take care of you.» Upon seeing his tip, he replied with «This isn’t taking care of me, go get the coupon.» I was completely shocked; such a nice family run establishment with tacky associates such as this gentleman. The manager on duty at the time heard my complaint but did not even offer anything other than talking to the associate when he returned. Marcello’s might be off my take-​out list of options permanently…

This place is better then their other location on Milwaukee ave. It’s not as crowded and the service is much better. We got seated right away and the waiter was at our table. Me and my wife ordered the garlic and buffalo wings. These were crispy and fresh. I would definitely come back to this location.

I had lunch here today with clients and when Asked if everything was okay I told the waitress that it was. My client is elderly and she was there with her assistant. They loved the Panini and the salad they shared. I ordered a gourmet burger, rare. What was delivered was a well-​done burger swimming in a ton of juices. I have to believe it was sitting in a pan in the kitchen cooking for a while. If I had not been with clients I would’ve sent it back.
Other than that the service was fine, the waitress was pleasant and helpful.

Marcellos bakery has been around for years. They server already prepared soups salads sandwiches and pizza. You can order many of the items off the regular menu also to eat in their café. In addition, of course you can choose one of their fabulous bakery items and gelatos for dessert. The bakery is where customers pick up all carry out items that have been previously ordered. They work in conjunction with the catering department and do all of the beautiful bakery items.
There is an on-​site catering office and beautiful rooms for large events, attached to the large restaurant, with its own entrance if needed. Everything is in one building or customers can have the party catered by Marcellos elsewhere.
