Marked for dessert is by far the best cake this former wedding planner has had in Chicago.
They are an appointment only boutique here in the city but have a full bakery out in the burbs. By far, my favorite is the Banana cake with chocolate ganache. It is moist and delicious and you can tell everything is made from scratch.
Many bakeries will make a cake from scratch for your tasting but use boxed cake for your wedding– but not here!
The thing that wows me the most is the absolutely amazing decorating on the cakes. I have seen seashells that i truly thought were real, amazing flowers, and whimsical characters… Amazing work… so much attention to detail.
I have also had cookies from the libertyville location which were yummy as well!
