We had an amazing experience with Matt. He is incredibly organized and easy to work with, extreamly strait forward with his opinions, and was a shrewd negotiator on our behalf. I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

Matt Laricy is the only option in Chicago. Period. From our first meeting with Matt, I knew he was the right man for the job. Matt makes himself available at all hours to help you through the home buying process. Being a first time home buyer I needed someone who would be honest, fight for my interests and coach me through the process. Matt brings all of those qualities.
Matt will not push or pressure you into situations like most realtors do. Matt has a great understanding of what his clients are looking for and the pace at which they want to move. Throughout the entire process, Matt didn’t impose on those boundaries.
Matt’s staff is top notch as well. Amy’s weekly updates kept me on task!

This was our first time buying a house and Matt was there to answer any question. Even if I emailed him late at night or early morning, I got a response within an hour. His entire team was on top of things, regularly providing updates and making sure all parties involved were updated as to what was happening. Matt gave blunt opinions about places we were not sure of, never rushed us and was always there to answer any question. Matt, Mickey and Amy were super quick in scheduling a showing of a place. As we finalized a place and were getting ready for the close, Amy made sure everything is communicated to us in a timely fashion and was very well organized. I highly recommend Matt, he knows the Chicago market in and out!

I just read Matt’s recent reviews and they are spot on. We actually bought long distance with our Chicago based daughter/​renter checking out properties with Matt. We had time issues with an exchange and also needed to get it done for her to start her residency. Think about it, finding a realtor long distance and being happy with the result! Plus, we are not first time buyers, but Chicago real estate is very different than California. Matt, Amy, and Maggie got us through it with a smile on our faces and excited about the condo.

Working with Matt you won’t have to search for an attorney, mortgage broker, inspector or even a contractor separately as he surrounds himself with responsive professional people that want to help you. Matt helped me close on a property that had several offers. If it wasn’t for him going through each scenario with me over the phone I would not be living in my beautiful home. I would email Matt at 11:02 pm on a Friday night and would get a response back at 11:03 pm Friday night. Who does that? You can’t get that service anywhere. He is a straight shooter and calls is like it is. Its hard to find honest people especially ones that are on commission but hes that person. I would recommend Matt to anyone! I will forever be grateful to Matt and his team for making the selling and buying of homes an enjoyable experience and also a great financial decision. Matt has a great marketing team and set of relevant marketing tools and strategies that reach today’s buyers. We were first-​time homebuyers and found Matt through Zillow and Unilocal reviews. Matt was crucial for leading us through the whole condo buying process, and by whole I mean from showing units all the way to the closing date. Truthfully, we didn’t know much about buying property, and Matt made sure that every single step went smoothly as possible. If you are a buyer that is looking for an excellent real estate agent in Chicago, here are some reasons to consider Matt:
— He knows Chicago condo properties at the back of his hand. When we walked into our dream unit, he knew that the building was planning for special assessments. Seller’s agent didn’t even know this information. When I marked the units of interest in his electronic system, he would steer me away from the buildings that could be problematic to resell or if they had some type of major issues.
— Responsiveness. I typically received response to my questions within hours. I may be biased but I really think that we got our unit because Matt and his team were able to set up a showing really fast and get contract going as soon as we decided to make an offer. One of my friends recently lost on a house because her real estate agent was not fast and responsive, and here I was receiving responses from Matt within 2 hours if not less for most of the time.
–He will treat you as if you were his only customer. During my first meeting with Matt, I was a little concerned about his accessibility when he mentioned that he has many customers. But every unit showing was with him except for one that he had a time conflict with. Our budget was relatively small but Matt really made us feel that we were his only customers! My lender was really surprised that we worked directly with Matt and not his team members (even though most of his team members that I met or interacted with are great!).
–Organization skills. Matt and his team will keep you organized! Your showings will be nicely spelled out in google docs. But for me and my husband, the biggest help was with the closing process after we made an offer. Closing process consists of so many moving parts and different people, and Matt’s team made sure that we stay on track. Our closing was complicated with special assessments — imagine dealing with these issues when you are a first-​time homebuyer. Matt was always there to give his input. He gave us good references, his team kept the process going with weekly updates, and he pushed the process forward as much as he could.
Ok — I didn’t expect the review to be this long. So if you don’t want to read everything above, the bottom line is «I highly recommend Matt for your real-​estate buying experience especially if you are first-​time homebuyer!»

I was new to the Chicago area, and a property virgin, so naturally I had quite a few questions regarding the home buying process. I was referred to Matt Laricy through my lender. He was prompt in responding, and went out of his way to meet me during my busy work schedule. He has excellent knowledge of the Chicago properties, and took the time to answer my questions. His associates are also polite and worked diligently to get me in to see the properties I was interested in. I never had a problem getting in touch with either Matt or his staff. Thanks to Matt and his group, my first home buying experience was a success! I would highly recommend Matt Laricy without reservation.

All in all, we had a great experience with Matt and his team. Matt did a great job up front, walking us through the process, explaining the approach he was going to take with our listing, how it would be promoted, etc. Matt and his team were very professional and courteous around the showings, working with our property management company, all the way through all the closing details. They were very responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process, and we would definitely recommend working with them if you have the opportunity!

Matt was great in helping me find a condo to buy in a very short time moving from out of state. He was patient, providing information on each property we toured, explaining what a «healthy reserve» meant when purchasing a condo and pointing out the ins and outs of a particular property. Matt was very responsive to texts and emails, replying quickly, oftentimes sending emails in what should be his off hours and altogether is very dedicated to his profession. I’ve bought other properties before and have had great experiences in other transactions. I would say that working with The Matt Laricy Group was another great experience. I would use Matt’s services again if I were to buy another property anywhere in Chicagoland!

Hands down the best realtor in town! Matt and his excellent team led us through our first property buying experience over the last few months. We found him online and hesitantly called based on glowing reviews (what crazy person makes a decision about who they are going to spend hundreds of thousand of dollars with based on what people say on the internet?!?). But we never regretted our choice. From the first meeting when Matt took the time to walk us through the entire process to the post closing questions his service has been phenomenal. Some highlights are:
— very prompt turnaround times and almost instantaneous reply to emails/​call returns
— very much in tune with what we were looking for, but if we were making bad judgement Matt would call it out with sound reasoning and explanation, but without being pushy or argumentative
— electronic everything! From scheduling showings to making offer to contract reviews — no need for paper and pen till the closing date
— amazing team of professionals and Matt keeps them on their toes (I’m not sure I would want to work for him :) but it’s not a glassdoor review!). We worked with Amy and Maggie throughout the process and they have always been effective, to the point, and very much customer focused.
— and last but for us most important — excellent process in place for when you are under contract that is being followed religiously with Monday morning status updates, follow-​ups, and reminders to all parties involved. We were cruising in the Caribbean with very limited connectivity in the thick of some tax credit negotiations with the seller and still felt very comfortable about what was going on.

I was referred by a colleague who had already purchased two places with Matt’s help, and he was the only Real Estate agent I interviewed. Matt was very quick in getting me set up with a search according to my parameters and adequately involved in my search. He was open about his recommendations and was clear about what he thought. Wow, I feel bad for forgetting to do this (sorry Matt! really had it in my head that I did already), but Matt and his team did a fantastic job for me about 4 months ago. I was looking for somewhere small to buy and move into, and me being a first time home buyer, this was a daunting task. After looking online to find a realtor, I can across Matt’s name, and after doing some intense research, decided to give him a call. I was a bit nervous given the fact that I wasn’t looking to buy a super nice expensive home, but from the first meeting all the way till the close, I never once felt treated like a second class citizen by him or his team (I was also in regular contact with Mickey and Amy, who were also fantastic). They were there for me the entirety of the way, even through the rocky patches that were mostly my fault. Really can’t be happy enough with where I’m living, and would gladly come back to Matt in the future, as well as guaranteed recommend him to anyone I knew who was looking to purchase their first property.
Also a side note, I love that these guys are super updated to modern times, using google docs, dropbox, and other sources that made it incredibly easy on me to find information on what was happening at any given moment. Thanks again!

We met Matt through Zillow when we were curious to see a listed condo, but weren’t ready to really start looking to buy a home. Part of the reason was because we had no idea what we wanted or where we wanted to live.
Matt met with us in his office and spent an hour explaining the basics of buying a home. He seemed very trust worthy from day one, and proved himself to be by offering his blunt opinions about every place we looked at. He was very patient along the way.
We started looking at 2 bedroom condos in River North in the summer and ended up buying a 3 bedroom walk up (penthouse!) in December.
Dude is the top agent in Chicago for a reason. Stop reading Unilocal reviews and just go meet him for yourself. You won’t regret it.
