Matt is the type of agent that gives real estate brokers a bad name. My broker had inquired Matt about a property he was representing. He had asked for a pre-qualification letter(which was fine), but had required me to reach out to my lender to have an updated letter drafted. When scheduling a time to see the property, Matt said his schedule was M-F 9 – 5. This was inconvenient as most working people working during those times. After scheduling a date, we were informed that the property went under contract. This was disappointing to hear as we feel we weren’t given a fair opportunity to see/make an offer. The property had sold significantly under asking price and took 3 months to close so it obviously wasn’t a cash offer. Matt is deceitful, unaccommodating, and shady. I would never recommend him as a broker since he didn’t represent his seller fairly by entertaining ALL offers. Makes people think that brokers conduct under the table business for selfish reasons.

Matt helped my wife and I find our 3br condo in the West Loop. I don’t know about how to compare him to other real estate agents because I’ve never had another agent, but then again, I wouldn’t have to have one because Matt was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable about the city and its diverse neighborhoods(we looked everywhere from the West Loop to Ravenswood) and also about the way a home works and what to watch out for. He’s not the kind of agent who would recommend a place that was less than ideal just because he wanted the commission — if a place wasn’t great, he wouldn’t even LET us follow up. I think that should count for something, and I definitely think you should consider making him your agent. You will not be disappointed.
