Maurice is the truth! The man has designed and made costumes for his Royal Purple Badness himself, Prince!!! If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know about his professionalism, skill set, creativity and coldness then perhaps his over 30 years experience will. He designs tuxedos, suits and clothes as well as immaculate tailoring. I came to his shop in need of some last minute alterations before a trip and he helped me out at 8 o’clock at night. Among other things, I had a zipper that I came to replace and he was able to simply fix it! Great guy, great experience — he will do all my tailoring or custom outfits from now on!

Easily the best in the business. Killer price, killer product and always warm and friendly. You want your tailor to be an expert and offer professional advice but at the end of the day do what you requested. Maurice does that, he keeps you on track with great advice and even if he doesn’t agree with how you want it done he’ll do it anyways to perfection.
No need to ever go anywhere else!

Just picked up my Tuxedo and jeans. He took in the sleeves, opened waist and hemmed the pants. Also hemmed my jeans. Price was great. $ 85 for everything and it was done in less than a week. He’s super nice. Don’t be put off by his location being in an industrial area. He’s good and worth going to.

Maurice is the best. I took a pair of expensive jeans in to get hemmed up a couple inches. Maurice did an outstanding job at a great price. I actually waited in his store while he did them which was awesome. Most tailors I have used in the past take 2 – 3 days to get the job done.
I plan on using Maurice for any and all alterations or tailoring jobs I need done moving forward.

What a splendid guy! I spotted Maurice here on Unilocal and stopped by for a quick alteration… his shop does it all, 20 years in the business. And a lovely fellow, to boot! :-)
A little bit hard to find, since he’s upstairs above an electrical supply establishment… but plenty of space and mountains of materials. He can do it all, and do it in style. Custom fabric buttons, suits, leatherwork, quick alterations or full tailoring jobs… we loved just looking around his space as he did our trim and hem.
Don’t be afraid to leave a message if you call when he’s busy, he’ll return calls right away and you won’t be sorry you chose Maurice. :-)

Maurice is located on a side street off Grand Ave and Damen. Great little shop up there. I called Maurice the day of saying I needed some large patches sewed on a leather vest and could not leave them. He joked and adjusted for my comfort. Told me to come down there at noon and handled them while I stood by and watch. Great service, very decent price for what I wanted and always willing to send others there in the future.
