Mayor Rahm Emanuel

Well, let’s just say that I’m not impressed. Mr. Mayor seems to be all suit and haircut who talks a great game, is energetic, almost believable but tastes the same as that old, dried up, flavorless hamburger that just got thrown out a year ago.

In a dereliction of duty, and yet another example of extreme arrogance, Tiny Dancer left his post to go participate in the Cult of Personality in Charlotte in the middle of the biggest labor dispute in this city in a quarter century.
Then, Tiny Dancer decamped for home and did nothing apart from cry, «Illegal!» The court didn’t agree.
Tiny Dancer then continued to hide in the shadows — ballet dancing the night away — until…
…Tiny Dancer caved and was steamrolled by an over emotional, ranting lunatic.
Tiny Dancer’s spin of this catastrophic loss was to cry crocodile tears for the children at his subsequent presser. You know, because Tiny Dancer does everything for the children. Step aside, Mr. Rogers, Tiny Dancer is here to save the day.
To sum up, Tiny Dancer did nothing, then caved with your tax dollars and then pretended to care about the children by shedding crocodile tears.

*Bleep* you. That’s all I have to say about the way you’ve handled the library cuts (which cost at least one friend of mine their library job), approving the ward remap (and screwing over great alderman like Sposato and Fioretti in the process), asking Springfield for speed cameras just in front of schools and parks (when we know you eventually will ask for them everywhere). Oh, and a bigger *bleep* you for comments I noticed you made praising the false BS lies anti-​smoking groups always make, when it comes to their ridiculous agenda. (during a conference about City Colleges of Chicago’s very pathetic and completely unnecessary move to make all colleges tobacco-​free, when we know how that absurd goal will end up. and I’ve never been more than an infrequent smoker…)
Le sigh, how I so wish Tom Dart had stayed in the mayoral race, and won. And at least I could admire Del Valle for how honest he always was in the mayoral race (to the point I cast a sympathy vote for him in the mayoral primary), even if there were some things I didn’t agree with him on…

Let me preface by saying that I’m a Republican, and I’m nothing less than impressed with our new Mayor’s job performance (sans beach incident in May). My staunch Republican friends (and wife) give me that look of discontent, and outright confusion, when I elaborate on what I feel as though is a near A when it pertains to the ferocious work ethic Rahm exudes. Listen, this guy *gets it* and he actually gets things done– and fast!
Now, let’s take a step back a few months and reminisce the Dick Daley days. I know, I know, must we really do that? Yes, because this proves why (so far) Rahm is doing a phenomenal job, and is light years ahead of Dick when it pertains to fiscal intelligence. Rahm is doing more cutting than Ghostface. Is he really a liberal Democrat, or is he a fiscal conservative? Personally, I think he’s liberal on social issues– not wacky Pelosi liberal, but moderately liberal. Reasonable, I should say. On fiscal issues, here’s where Rahm gets an A+. Unions. Yep, he’ll go after them, and won’t be scared to lay off, or make cuts. The incompetent Traffic Aids, or what ever the hell they’re called. Yep, a bunch of those jerk offs that were costing the city so much money, were just let go:)
The point is, he (unlike Daley) is a workaholic and is making the necessary spending cuts that this city so desperately needs. Everyday, Rahm is making Dick Daley look more and more like a bumbling idiot! I could go on for hours how much of a clown Dick is, but I think most of us can agree that he’s an incompetent, power hungry, greedy {Fill in the blank}.
Listen– we’re never going to have a Republican Mayor in Chicago. It’s just not-​gonna-​happen. With this being said, I feel as though it’s still important to vote. If you don’t vote, you have NO reason to complain. I don’t vote Democrat very often, but am glad I cast my vote for Rahm Emanuel. I strongly believe he’ll be a great mayor for years to come.

Starting to feel like the wrong Rahm Emanuel got sent through the time vortex.
