I will start by saying that I’m not really picky when it comes to haircuts. I usually go to a woman who charges $ 8, but this place is right down the street from me, so I thought I would try it out. It was, without question, the worst haircut I’ve ever had. Maybe they’re used to doing buzz cuts and I threw the guy off by asking for a scissor cut, but I don’t think it should be that big a problem in any case. He took around an hour to cut my hair. At first I was appreciating the attention to detail. After a while though, I got the feeling that he had no idea what he was doing. He trimmed tiny amounts of hair and rotated the chair repeatedly. He kept going over the same spots and trimming little bits off like a topiary. I didn’t get a really good look at my hair before I left, but I assumed that he got everything really well since he took such a ridiculously long time. By that point I was kind of exhausted from sitting in that chair and repeatedly craning my neck. I handed him a $ 20 bill and he just took it and said«thanks man». I have no idea how much the cut actually cost, because he didn’t give me change back. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and was amazed by how bad my hair looked. I had a mullet in the back, and there were parts of my head where the hair was still long. I ended up trimming it myself so it would look halfway decent. Was he playing a joke on me because I didn’t fit in at the shop? Could he truly have been that bad at a basic haircut? I really don’t know. I do know that I’m not going back!

My guy hopped around to different barbers looking for someone who could handle kinky hair, without much success — until we found this place, thanks to Unilocal.Joel took his time, was super friendly, and really nailed it. We’ll be back.

They have a remarkable attention to detail and are very skilled. With a brief glance of a picture, they can replicate anything that you want. I cannot recommend these barbers enough.

Arrived at the shop around 4ish. Didn’t have to wait a single minute. Ernie was my barber and he cut my hair exactly how I wanted. Coming from Brooklyn, NY and having been traveling around quite a bit, finding a competent barber has been tough. Apparently standards are high in NYC. Go figure. I can say with confidence that this is my new go to barbershop in Chicago. It’s also good to note that I was extremely pleased with their pricing model. Cheap haircut with exceptional quality. What more can you ask for?

I had my own barber before coming to this place. My brothers come here all the time and keep telling me to go. well yesterday I finally did. I arrived around 5:40 but it seemed like they were about to close shop. I talked to Joel(the owner) when I walked in the shop and he had no problem in taking me. I showed him a picture of what I wanted. and thats exactly what I got. Top notch haircut at an EXTREMELYAFFORDABLE price. I highly recommend this place. I will be coming here from now on.

Best service!!! I discovered this barber shop thru Unilocal and the team here are very friendly with great barber skills. Personally I advise to cut with Joel who is the front man near the door.

Been going here every couple weeks for the last year and never had a bad experience. These guys are masters with the clippers and straight razor. Very reasonable prices too.

Awesome haircut — his use of the straight razor was better than anything I had had at any military post I have been on. I finally found a barber in Chicago I can rely on.

Best hair cut had in years. Ernie does a fantastic job. Always grows in looking great that’s a sign of a good hair cut. Regular cuts only 12 bucks. I am glad I found this place, after searching for a barber for awhile.

Puerto Rican barbers have skills. After checking Unilocal for reviews on barber shops in Humboldt Park, I decided to give this place a shot. I’ve been cutting my own hair for the last 4 year after dealing with a few barbers on the south side of Chicago. They always seemed to do something really good, but then mess up something else like my lining or beard. Anyhow, I checked Moca Master Cuts out to get my birthday fade. It was about 11am on last Friday. The place was not busy at all. The barber, Oby had me in and out in about 30 mins. It was a low cut, with razor lining, tapered back. The price was great(without me mentioning that it was my birthday.) And the atmosphere was pretty chill, which is kinda important to me.

Wow. really awesome Barber Shop. So let me start off by saying I’m a white gay professional guy in his mid-30’s.well, late 30’s but whatever. When I was in need of a quick cut I considered the PR barber shop that I pass on my way to work since it was a monday and most salons are closed. It’s the kind of place with white walls, fluorescent lighting, a huge PR flag and a poster on the wall of a grid of hair cuts shown with numbers. I was pretty intimidated because being gay and having only gone to hair salons or at the very least a fancy barber shop I was a little scared I was going to walk out of there with a «number 4» a tight fade with lines in the side… After going in I soon realized that this is a great place with really talented barbers. I have never had so much time and effort put into a haircut. he used clippers, scissors, a straight razor, everything. I love it. Quick, great, and inexpensive. Joel is the guy I have gone to and he is really Awesome! I’m really glad I put aside my own dumb prejudices and preconceived notions what all these PR barber shops are like. it made me feel dumb. I love going there and I would suggest it to anyone.

I Usually cut my own hair however my hairline is receding and lately just haven’t been feeling like my haircuts are coming out the way i would like them to. Anyways im no professional i happened to be going to cvs and noticed that Moca Master Cuts just opened. I decided to give Moca a try its within walking distance for me and I have to take a picture for my company on friday. Im so glad i decided to. the barber who ended up cutting my hair was Gabbie(I Hope I spelled this right) Not only a professional but a perfectionist. I couldnt be more pleased with the service i had no wait and not only did i get my hair cut but i requested my goatee as well as my brows lined up. I look forward to going to Moca again ive decided to take better care of myself by taking the time to groom myself and sometimes that means letting a professional do it. All this time i thought i looked ok but when Gabbie was done with me i looked amazing and i felt good. Give Moca a try you wont be disappointed! Gabbie was able to make my line up look so good that i may keep my hair this fall rather than whack it bald like i was used to because of my receding high hair line.
