Been to 2different Morton’s Steak Houses and this one is my favorite and from we were told is the biggest. Ambience is quite and lights are dimmed. We started at the bar tried their Pineapple Infused Vodka, which are very tasty! I loved the creamy foam that is builded as its hand shaken. We also had a shot of their gold slogger. I also tried their Cucumber with thyme drink and it was also tasty. The steak was cooked to perfection. We ordered the Bone in Ribeye with a tasty Crème on top. The Brussel sprouts were also delicious. The Shrimp Alexander was not tasty at all it was bland and with no flavor. Our waiter was nice enough to remove the Shrimp Alexander off our tab. We ordered a bottle of red wine with dinner and the night was quite nice. We continued our cocktails at the bar after dinner and just have to admit that their Infused pineapple Vodka was my fave.

I came here for happy hour with my friends. Prices were decent for happy hour. Pretty empty when I arrived(5PM) considering they start theirs at 4PM but that means more seating for me! Also, service was very good because they kept checking on us. If it wasn’t pouring outside, we would have really enjoyed the patio seating. The bathroom is a bit dark.

Love this Morton’s. Had a wonderful bartender in the front and great-but strong-secret garden martini. Our waiter was top notch, Steven, and just a generally fantastic experience. Had the 827274oz ribeye, asparagus(holy cow), potatoes au gratin and hot chocolate cake along with a bottle of wine. It was just amazing and I have another 2 steak meals along with bread that I took home for leftovers along with potatoes. Just nuts! One of my absolute favorites while in Chicago, and a great easy-access location as well. ps started with the bacon scallops… Delightful

I got the Prime NY steak, and asked for medium-welldone. The steak was burnt on the outside and pink in the inside. I also got the Prime Ribeye, and asked for well done. It eas perfect. The truffle fries is really good. Good size for 2 – 3 people.

Host(both of them) could care less that we were waiting for a table, even though it was late and maybe 40 empty ones within eye sight from front door. They took their sweet time and didn’t give us any reason. Once we were seated, the waiter couldn’t care much either. I guess it’s too easy to prey on tourists that don’t have a choice in Chicago. This is Morton’s, they should care about their reputation and hold some standard. At the very least give me some service I deserve spending $ 160 pre tip on a meal for two without drinking(I haven’t drank in almost 3 years, which leads people to treat us worse as they think we’re being cheap — I’m just avoiding a problem which I shouldn’t have to apologize for or even explain) Also — it’s a steak place — they didn’t even cook my wife’s steak to the medium rare she asked for, so needed to send that back also. The food was good in the end, but the service and staff were terribly disappointing. Overall the value was poor. I’ve been to a few Morton’s and this is by far the worst experience to date. Won’t be back for a while thanks to a staff that could care less.

This place has just been amazing. Our server jack recommend so great wine to go with the steaks me and my boyfriend Dave had. Well with the money! Great food, great service, and amazing wine.

My date brought me here for Valentine’s Day. We had reservations for 7 and arrived a little early. The decore when walking in is absolutely beautiful and you could feel the spirit of Valentine’s in Chicago in the air. It was freezing that night and was wearing a dress so I told my date I would only go out in the city if he got valet. We checked in and they were ready to seat us right away except my date decided to be difficult about the valet because he has never trusted them and they will park his car somewhere it will be towed. I told him to relax and let’s have a good evening. The hostess remained friendly and courteous through him voicing his concerns that he usually does not do valet because he will worry the entire time. They then asked to check our coats and I had to hear my date go on and on about how he will not check his coat because they will lose it. I listened to him ramble for about a minute and then I stopped acknowledging him, turned around and gave my coat to the coat check attendant and thanked her for her patience. We then got on the elevator and went to the 2nd floor. It’s was a candle lit room that over looked the city. It was absolutely beautiful! I only have two complaints. First is the tables have you sitting so far apart to have an intimate conversation or if I felt like being romantic(which I didn’t because my date is to into himself and was a know it all). The way the tables were set up left it with a cold feeling which to be honest worked for me not that night LOL :-) The second complaint is they had flat screens on the wall with a fire going. I don’t feel like it flowed with the vibe of what they seemed to have going on with the ambiance of that room. Our server Abby greeted us within 1 minute and was extremely pleasant. They brought bread and butter to the table right away but felt the bread was quit dry and not worth the effort. We started off with a bottle of the Château Ste. Michelle merlot and I have to say the wine presentation was right on point! It had a perfect texture but I still prefer mine a little more dry. Now from here lady’s and gents is where it got entertaining for me LOL! My date got very nasty and rude with the server when she was answering his questions about things in the menu. So when she started taking our order I let him order the appetizer. He ordered the jumbo lump crab cake. But then I but in and said and I think I want the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. Annnnddd then I look him up and down and with out hesitation I look back to our server Abby and said and I think I also want to try the Oysters Rockefeller. And with a huge smile on her face she said«okay»!! And what would you like as you main dish I looked down at the menu and the first thing I looked for was the highest priced item on the menu which was the Filet Mignon and Lobster(and I don’t even really like lobster) and then I looked at him and said I think you should order the same. I then looked at Abby and said yeah, that’s what he will take as well. With a confused look on his face he stumbled over his words and said okay. Abby was awesome and with a big grin on her face she didn’t miss a beat and asked how we would like our steak cooked. As a side dish she recommended the Twice Baked Au Gratin Potatoes and we took her up on it. After Abby left to put our order in I drank the wine as fast as I could to drown out the sound of my dates voice and also so I could order another bottle of wine to add to his bill. I was determined to make this a very expensive night for him. Our appetizers arrived and the entrance for the shrimp was absolutely perfect coming off the dry ice! I purposely only took one bite of each and left the rest ;-) Our food arrived and I have to say the steak was amazing and definitely lived up to their reputation. It’s so funny to think the they started out as a hamburger business and escalated into creating amazing steaks! It was truly mouth watering! The lobster was not the best I’ve had but it was still pretty good. By this time it was time to order another bottle of wine and desert. So Abby came back to have our plates cleared and clean the crumbs off the table and was still extremely pleasant. She asked what would would like for desert. My date ordered the carrot cake(which is my fav!!) then I ordered the Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake. They both looked perfect and tasted even better!!! I only took a few more bites and when Abby came back to check in us and see it tasted I told her it was perfection but I’ve been reading out about how great their Crème Brûlée and would also like to try that and told her to add a scoop of vanilla Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream. She smiled and said of course :-) Moral of my story here is if a guy is an ass and rude to the people who are serving you and serving you food then you show him how much you and the staff is worth by raising his bill as high as you can get it ;-) I will definitely be back!

Hope I don’t run this place into the ground for their Happy Hour aka Power Hours from 4 – 7 pm on weekdays. Not only does Mortons offer the standards(beer and wine) they also mix up a mean cocktail. I am a fan of their chilled martinis. The only downside is the dishwasher at one edge of the bar that sometimes emits a cloud of chlorine-infused steam. The steak tacos were the only bar bite I’ve tried – certainly substantial and helpful in soaking up the Manhattan that I’d ordered. It’s really hit-or-miss in terms of the crowd. Occasionally there is an event taking place, which can make for nearby raucousness, but at other times this bar is an oasis of civility where one can glimpse the headlines on CNBC like a titan before getting on with the rest of the evening’s plans.

Meh… Just…okay. Morton’s food and service is typically far above par but when my partner and I went today everything was just… okay. We went at around 4 pm and when we walked in it was completely empty. The hostess was slightly aloof and seemed confused about how to do her job. Once we were finally seated, our waiter wasn’t rude, just didn’t seem particularly interested in us or our order. Didn’t explain the wine selections or anything. The food came out and was alright, at best. My partner had the honey chile salmon and I had a cheeseburger and fries. Burger was salty, for some reason, and was lackluster. All in all, in I won’t be back. I was disappointed to drop $ 150 for an extremely lackluster meal and more lackluster service.

Visited during NYE… wait time was ridiculously long even with reservation. Had crab cake as appetizer(delicious!), 12oz filet mignon(a little overcooked…), braised beef with scallop(braised beef was sooo delicious, it literally melted in my mouth. mashed potato was very good and matched well with the main dish. As for scallop, though chewy, it tasted just okay and a bit too salty). We had Crème brûlée and chocolate lava cake as desserts. Crème brûlée was okay, I’ve had lots of better ones; however, I did enjoy the lava cake. Overall, this place didn’t really impress me. I am honestly not sure if I’ll be coming back.

This was our second time here. This time we set at the bar area. We are always at Morton’s so we know the menu. Order the cheese burger minis. The bread for the burgers was hard. I guess every Mortons is not the same. The music i felt like i was in a club. I’m use to sitting in Morton’s steak house listen to jazz and its more melon… but my drink was good

Never been to a Morton’s, no four legged creatures allowed in my digestive system. Pleasantly surprised the food was very well prepared and our waiter super accommodating. I had salmon with scallops which was prepared exactly how I asked for it. Rare with no added salt. Some how that request always gets lost in translation but I gave them an extra star for listening . Like all Morton’s and Ruth Chris of the world very expensive. Recommended for a splurge.

The steaks here are good not the service. I went there with my boyfriend on last Wednesday at 6.40 pm. The host told us that there were only the bar seats available. No big deal. Our server was an old lady(blonde hair) who worked as a bartender/waitress. She walked very slowly and she didn’t look like a professional server to me. She didn’t provide us any breads or anything just took our order and never came back again. The gentleman who was sitting next to us got his bread and food before us even though we were there first. We had to flag her down for a check. Ten minutes later after we asked for a check, she dropped the check and just left without saying anything. My boyfriend was ready to give her his credit card but she was in a hurry. She kept walking around to many tables and then she went back to the bar to make some drinks. I had to ask another server to find her and gave her the credit card. She didn’t have time to swipe the credit card so she asked the host to do that for her. I hope the manager would do something about her. Maybe train her how to be a professional server and not a sloppy server who doesn’t know how to treat the customers. This was the worst service in the restaurant ever! We spent almost $ 200 only to receive the bad service. We will never come back to this place again even though we live only 2 blocks away. No more Morton’s!

I’ll start by saying that the $ 1 filet mignon sandwiches on filet mignon day brought me in the door, and somehow I spent over $ 100… The day I went was craziness because Mortons was offering their $ 1 sandwiches. But it was really disappointing because of how unorganized everything seemed to be. Some sandwiches had a little sliver of meat on them. Others had a proportionate piece. Just strange that they seemed so unprepared. But the real reason for this bad review was what I observed from management. My dining partner and I had ordered our(second) order of sandwiches. This gentleman sat down a few spots away from us at the bar and ordered maybe two minutes after we did. Service was slow and chaotic. Fifteen minutes goes by. The bartender-waitress stops and apologizes to me for the slow food service. We smile and say it’s okay. Another fifteen minutes pass. A guy in a dress shirt and tie(presumably the manager) comes by with a plate of(the same number that we ordered) sandwiches. He goes behind the bar and heads to the gentleman who not only sat down but ordered after we did. The bartender-waitress tries to intercept, and tells the manager(within our earshot) «they(pointing to us) ordered before that guy, and they’ve been waiting almost half an hour.» The manager’s response(audibly to us) «too bad.» …wtf. Super professional. Ironically, they guy solely ordered $ 1 sandwiches while we bought sandwiches, booze, and on-the-menu food. Way to treat your patrons, Mortons.

The service is outstanding, from start to finish, and that good service really makes your night. We went for an early birthday dinner and were greeted with birthday menus, had our picture taken, and given to us on a card. Everyone was very friendly. Lovely. Food was delicious. You really can’t go wrong with steak at Morton’s and you really do get what you pay for. Creamed spinach side was super delicious. I really like their huge bread roll, it’s warm and garlicky. Great experience at this Loop location. Will be back.

Petit filet mignon, oscar style – excellent cut that was expertly prepared! I could have cut it with my fork. Horseradish mashed potatoes-excellent Parmesan and Truffle matchstick fries – excellent Creamed Spinach-excellent The service was outstanding. Expert recommendations and he did not begin describing the dishes until he had our attention(which was important because we were a large group).

Came here for lunch with my brother. We wanted something nicer than fast-food, but also wanted quick service, since we didn’t have a ton of time. The service and food were perfect! We ate at the bar and ordered burgers & martinis. The burgers were massive, so I only ate half, but I left feeling satisfied(not gorged) and happy. It def hit the spot; I didn’t feel sluggish or anything afterward. Our bartender was really friendly and accommodating. We were oddly specific on how we wanted our martinis made and she matched our requests to a T. *Bonus* If you like those soft mints, they have them. Perfect after meal topper. Yum.

My experience here was a very nice one! I will start off by saying the food portion size is very large! Come hungry and you will eat well! The service was also pleasurable, our waiter explained the details of the menu adequately. I would recommend this place to anyone who is willing to spend over $ 200 for a nice meal. We ordered the seafood& steak meals and an appetizer of ribeye steak tacos. And also a side of mashed potatoes, pretty scrumptious I have to say! Of course parking in the area is not easy, but if you do decide to drive down there is a valet nearby, and also a parking facility in the general area.

You realize you’ve lived too long on the west coast when you walk into Morton’s in downtown Chicago and order a steak ribs taco appetizer(with lime on the side, please!) and a prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella instead of the infinite variety of steaks they have on the menu. You realize the healthy west coast lifestyle has left an indelible mark on your eating habits when you eat all the(deliciously fresh) greens and garnish on your plate first. You realize you have just had an incredible meal when you automatically start writing your Unilocal review before the check has arrived. — Short rib tacos — amazingly flavorful and loaded with fresh avocado and cilantro. — Prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella — just the right amount of «chew» — the crispy tomatoes inside were a pleasant surprise. You realize you’re a die hard foodie when you’re willing to walk a quarter mile after 10:30 pm through 5-inches of snow and slush, with a chill wind blowing off the lake — and don’t mind the walk back!

Amazing! The quality of the food is delicious! I had the lobster and it just melt in my mouth… My brother had the jumbo steak and it just tasted like heaven! An incredible dinner! The red wine was good too! But even the sides were delicious! The only inconvenient is the price… It is quite expensive, for example a glass of wine is $ 15, the meat is around $ 50. But is something to do at least once! It’s very classy and elegant, but don’t need to be dressed in any special way. I totally recommend this place! A must in Chicago!

My Sex and the City crew wanted to mix it up a bit and try a new Happy Hour spot so we tried out Morton’s Power Hour yesterday. Just like the food even the valet is expensive.($ 16)!!! It was a rainy dreary day and once inside we had no problem getting a table in the bar. Our waitress and waiter were really friendly and pointed out the power hour menu, which was exactly what we were there for. We ordered a variety of things: — Crab Cakes BLT(I didn’t try it, but my friend said they were delicious) — Filet Mignon Trio(I enjoyed the 3 different sauces it came with. My favorite was the blue cheese) — Four Petite Filet mignon Sandwiches(My friend said the bread was nothing special and her meat that she asked for medium was pretty rare. She had to send it back to be cooked more, which the waitress was happy to obliged) — Parmesan Truffle Fries(By far everyone’s favorite!!! Great portion size as well) — Two of our friends got the wine(Pinot Noir and Merlot) and enjoyed it Not on the Power Hour menu, but we had to get dessert — Chocolate Soufflé — First time trying this and it was just okay. I would describe it as a mixture between a custard and flan. Definitely something different — Key Lime Pie — Huge slice, but just okay. I wish it was more tart All in all I’ve had better Happy hour food selections. Although the price isn’t terribly bad($ 8 appetizers) I’m use to going places were there discounted about $ 3 more. Since this is Morton’s though we were expecting the higher prices, but for the quality of food I have had better.
