Great food and great service! The atmosphere is a bit more like fast food/carry out but the food is excellent! They were able to accommodate 12 of us which was amazing! Great combo deals that is worth every penny! Healthy and fresh!

Called for a pickup order for lunch 15 mins before leaving work. When I arrived they hadn’t even started it! As I waited another person came in for a pickup that also hadn’t been started. She was just as frustrated as I was. Ok I get it stuff happens. I tried again weeks later and called for a pick up… same issue. Ugh! I live close by and have twice eaten inside. For a place that calls themselves MR. FALAFEL I find their version underwhelming. For what they charge I can get a bigger & better one down the street. Sorry guys I tried but I’ll go back to Taza’s Bakery for a better Falafel.

After frequenting many Middle Eastern restaurants owned by Assyrians(Christian Arabs) in the Rogers Park, I’m always disappointed by the service more than the food. I’m a pretty tall guy, look more of an African American, however, I’m a native Arab. Today, as soon as I walked inside Mr. Falafel, the cook maybe owner and the lady cashier started throwing mean comments about my height with their friends, which is the case with a lot of Assyrians I met. I did not want to make a big deal out of it, since I was there for the food, but I was thrown off before I try it! The wrap was acceptable but the atmosphere they create is weird and unwelcoming with their comments and smirks about their paying customers. They also wanted to charge me for a side of tahini and hot sauce! It is sad how I don’t go back to their restaurants due to their ignorant attitude more than the food quality! The mean comments are usually about everyone who is different. It just happens that I know what they are talking about.

It’s the best restaurant because the meat melts when you eat it

Love this place! Service issue with the delivery couple times, but who cares great food, its not easy to run small family businesses perfectly. Point is great and fresh authentic Assyrian food! They’re the best in Rogers Park and try the party tray, its alotta food for 5 – 6 people

Food here is cheap and prepared fast but still good. Both the beef and chicken shawarma sandwiches my boyfriend and I ordered were quickly devoured in a matter of minutes. No complaints here!

I would love to try this place but they are closed every time I call. I called during the week at 8 pm no one answered I called on Sunday at 7:30 pm still no answer. Their hours say open til 9. Either change your hours online or actually stay open til 9! Unfortunately we had to choose some where else to eat more than once! Get it together you’re losing money!!!

We really enjoyed the food. It was traditionally delicious, clean and well priced. Their Falafel is the best I’ve had in Chicago. Truly Mr. Falafel. As long as the quality is kept on this level, we will definitely will go back. One thing though, for me the lentil soup was not as good as the traditional one, add salt, pepper and cumin to it and it will be perfect. To all my Iraqi friends out there, their Shawarma and Kabab is very similar to Qasem Abu Al Kass. Enjoy!

My favorite local falafel place. I was sad the other day they stopped doing delivery as I was home alone with a little one, I ordered from somewhere else but missed Mr. Falafel. The combo plate is a great deal and is more than enough for two people for dinner. My three year old loves falafel!

Good food at cheap prices. This place has no frills but what else do you want from a carryout middle-eastern joint? Lentil soup and hummus are solid, maybe a little bland but you can jazz them up with what’s in your spice cabinet. Baba ghannouj is chunky and very tasty; make it a little smokier and you are in top-five territory. Their chicken shawarma is absolutely delicious, the best thing that I’ve tried here. Their grilled chicken kebab is great too, such juicy and tender meat even after a 30-minute car ride. And the eponymous chickpea balls? Not the best, but muy bueno. I’d say that they should skip the tahini inside to make it stay crispy. The wrap goes well with the house hot sauce. If you get one of the entrees, you end up with a ton of food – meat, rice, salad, pickled cabbage, and soup.(Plus, the salad isn’t just iceberg and a few wisps of carrot; they include cucumbers, radishes, red cabbage, and three colors of bell pepper.) And when you order the appetizer dips to go, you get a full pint container! Great value.

I totally was judging this place when it first opened till a friend recommended to give it a shot. The place looks great compared to the other places that have been there. Service was nothing super but it wasn’t terrible so I won’t punish them on that factor. We asked the lady for any recommendations and she was helpful but just seemed annoyed about helping. The food is great. I had the kefta kabob/beef shawarma lunch special which comes with a soup, salad, and tourshi. They forgot to bring my tourshi and I only realized after I finished. Big time bummer! The lentil soup was ok but could of been much better. Salad had no tomatoes. The shawarma was just amazing and probably the best I’ve tried in a while and what is behind the four stars. The kefta kabob was even better!!! I also tried the falafel which my sister said was too«garlicky» but I loved it. I would def recommend this place only because the shawarma was so tender and fresh that I wouldn’t want anyone to pass this place up.

FOUNDIT! Yes, that’s right, Chicago does seem to have a place with a falafel sandwich almost as good as the one I had at L’As du Fallafel in Paris. It’s got all the parts that no other place here seems to even know the existence of. See, at the place in Paris, they asked me if I wanted everything, all the salads, on my sandwich. Huge language barrier here, I speak almost no French, but the guy gestured towards a bunch of stuff in front of him that all looked wonderful. So I said yes. The Veggie sandwich, with torshi added, comes the closest. And it was amazingly good. We need to talk about torshi for a minute. I want to marry torshi. All of it. I have never, ever gotten anything even remotely like torshi at any other falafel place. That was the magic. The falafels themselves are really, really good. So fluffy! I never would have thought that I would use the word fluffy to describe something that is fried, but they are. Mostly I just want to buy a gallon of their torshi. Oh! My mom, who is 73 and pretty much has lost all interest in food, enjoyed it very much. The parents live out in the part of IL that is closer to Iowa than Chicago, but having previously lived in the city, find the lack of culinary adventures sadly lacking. So thank you Mr. Falafel, for making a meal that my mom actually got excited about. Side note, we carried out once and got delivery once. We were very impressed with the delivery, Grubhub said, 1 hour to 1 hour 15, but it was just over ½ hour. One of my new favorite places to eat!

Hands down the best Mediterranean food for several reasons: delicious, hot & fresh food, incredibly fast & friendly delivery, great portions and a big bang for your buck. The hummus, torshi, chicken chili fry are just some of the highlights. This is an honest to goodness great restaurant and hidden gem. Keep it up Mr. Falafel! :-)

Absolutely the ONLY middle east restaurant I will order from in Chicago. The closest thing I have found to Detroit Style(don’t scoff — if you know anything about Detroit and the suburbs like Dearborn you know they have a hardcore Middle Eastern Populace — you know those parts of Chicago where even the writing on the businesses is in Mexican? Ya well they have Arabic places like that around Detroit.) middle eastern food. I think this is the ONLY place I’ve found in Chicago that has ANY idea what Cream Chop is, and that is HUGE! Usually my reviews are long and funny but this is SERIOUS business. You want an absolute feast of glorious destiny? Flip the $ 40 and order the family style. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAA! GETSOME!

I was craving a good schawarma and falafel. I decided to order from here– I currently feel like I won the culinary lottery. Bonus! I have tons left for tomorrow. I tried the combo schawarma– being in a wishy-washy mood. The chicken was fabu! The meat was also prepared well. The rice was perfect! *In fact, my poor pup looked so dejected that I gave her a taste. She spent the rest of my meal attempting to climb into my lap to share with me.* The falafel was delicious. Crunchy, flavorful– NOT oily like some places. They do it perfectly! This place is on my go to list! Well priced– incredible find! Do not let the low prices fool you– it is awesome!
