I really like you, Nano Sushi! I’ve just moved to the neighborhood after living in Ravenswood for a year. First dinner? Sushi. Obv! I was so delighted during the move process to drive by this place just a quick walk from my new apartment. I could barely contain my excitement when my roommate agreed to walk over on a cold winter night. We’ve been to Nano a couple times since, and we’ve had a great experience every time. Friendly waitstaff who won’t be condescending when you ask what a certain roll entails, great price for the size of rolls, and adorable presentation. I thought maybe the chef just had a crush on me when I received this cute caterpillar hanging in a tree until I saw the other images here have cute decorations too. Ah, well. That’s okay, I’ll still be back.

Eat at the restaurant, I’ve dined in several times and the experience was always delightful. That being said I just ordered delivery for the first time and only live a couple blocks away. It took them over an hour and by the time our order got here, the soup was luke warm and the sushi was a similar temperature. We ate a couple pieces and called the restaurant to complain. We didn’t hear back for a while and threw the rest of the rolls away. We started to cook for ourselves and shortly after the manager called. She said she would refund us our money and that they would come pick up the sushi. We had already cracked a few eggs and didn’t want to pick through the trash. When I told her I didn’t want to pick the sushi out of the garbage, she told me that she couldn’t give me a refund and I said that was fine. We spent over $ 50 on the order, it took forever to arrive only to be disappointed. Don’t order delivery unless you want to wind up making omelettes for dinner. TLDR: avoid delivery and dine in. FYI this would be a 4 star review if we were dining in.

My boyfriend and I came here and he got food poisoning. We’ve had good experience up until now. Will not be coming here again. His food poisoning was pretty serious too.

I’ve been to Nano Sushi a few times now, both dining in and ordering take-out, and each time it gets a bit better. I was very impressed when I went yesterday! Ordered super white tuna maki(always a winner), and both regular and spicy dragon roll. All were delicious and fresh, and the presentation was amazing. We ended up ordering red bean and green tea mochi for dessert which was also very tasty. One order is great for one person or two people if you’d prefer something lighter. However, if I’m being completely honest, I was disappointed that their hot green tea was from a tea bag. I’d be willing to pay more for the extra effort. Also, it would be awesome if they served alcohol and not just have BYOB. Still, with the reasonable price I’m really just nitpicking. Overall, reasonably priced and delicious. Just don’t get the green tea.

This a delightful and quaint venue nestled in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. The mini Godzilla and Salmon Sunshine were exquisite. One would be skeptical of deep fried sushi, but it did not disappoint. It’s BYOF(Bring Your Own Fun), but seriously it’s BYOB.

This is my first ramen ever in Chicago. I was pleasantly surprised. The décor is edgy with a bistro feel. The owners and staff seem to be of Thai descent. We took quite awhile to order because we were involved chatting, but the waitress was patient. The one bad thing was that they didn’t seem to support dietary restrictions except for an uninspired vegetable ramen. So for those who cannot eat pork, ramen options are limited but sushi options are plenty. I didn’t like the wooden spoon; it was too shallow. However the design was peculiar and some might gush about it. The Thai iced tea was good, but I would presume Thai people would make it right, although they came in this weird giant glass that was more ice than tea, and they certainly skimped on the milk/cream. I don’t live near here, but I would definitely mention the place. I’m not a tame aficionado such that I can claim their ramen is delicious, but it’s pretty good and those in the area can stop by to try.

Well we enjoyed the food, a lot, so i don’t understand why people hated it. They’ve obviously improved since the 2012 reviews. We liked the cute interior… pink circular booths! Miso soup was tasty. Our maki rolls were super fresh. Especially loved the lightly-breaded calamari! No complaints here!

My boyfriend and I recently moved to Chicago from Seattle and this place is right down the street from our apartment. Let me say, I live for sushi, so when I saw this place down the street I was excited but also hesitant. Every time I walked by there weren’t too many people inside and I looked up their reviews on Unilocal and it looked like the place was alright. Not to mention, my boyfriend is not a huge fan of seafood so it’s not everyday he’s down to get sushi. We ended up going one night, and it was amazing. When I first walked in I was really surprised by how nice the atmosphere is inside. The lighting is perfect and they’re always playing some really chill, upbeat music in the background. They also have the walls decorated with pictures from Tokyo to complete the vision of the whole feel of the restaurant. It’s BYOB so we brought a bottle of white wine and they brought over a bucket of ice for it and some wine glasses. The menu itself has some really great maki rolls, so we got 3 – 4 and they were AMAZING. So on top of the atmosphere, the food is amazing. We’ve been back more times than I can count on my hands, and every time service has been great and the food has been impressive. This place is definitely my favorite resturant in the area.

Went here on Saturday for ramen. Had the Spicy Miso and it was fantastic. The depth of the flavor in the broth paired with the balance of ingredients added was the best. This ramen is a huge portion at really decent prices. Highly recommend stopping in.

Nano Sushi is not bad. The ramyun portions are decent. I expected the broth to be much richer, but overall, it was all right. What was a little confusing was that even though the three of us ordered different ramyuns, the descriptions for several of the different ramyuns were the same. So we don’t actually know if we ordered different ramyuns… I was disappointed by the dragon roll. It was pricier than the ramyuns, but definitely not filling. Service was very kind and attentive. Next time, I will skip the maki, maybe get the ramyun, and get the tempura ice cream – which was surprisingly very delicious!

I’ve been wanting to try Nano Sushi since I moved to Chicago 6 months ago. It’s just a few blocks away from our building. Every weekend we found an excuse to try a restaurant further away from home. We FINALLY decided to give this(almost always vacant, BYOB) spot a try. I have to say it did not disappoint! We started off with some Crab Rangoons… nothing amazing about them but they got the job done. I decided on having the Mini Godzilla Roll. One word… YUMMY! I was most impressed by the detail in the food presentation/decorations. My plate had heart shaped designs around the edge(very creative). If you’re looking for a quiet, casual, sushi type of night I would definitely give Nano a shot.

I live within walking distance of Nano and have passed it many times each time making a mental note to make it a dinner destination. I remember thinking how it would be the perfect BYOB dinner spot for my girlfriend and I when we felt like sushi without the hassle. I regret that it took us as long as it did to finally give Nano a shot. The atmosphere was low key and the décor modern. The service was friendly and casual. The only thing left was a pleasant dining experience on a late Saturday night. I ordered my go-to Dragon roll and my girlfriend ordered the mini Godzilla roll. Both orders with a side of eel sauce. The food was promptly brought to the table and the mini Godzilla roll was impressively laid out. I have never seen anything like it. My Dragon was roll was as to be expected. It is my go to roll for a reason at sushi places and Nano did not disappoint. Also, not to be overlooked the eel sauce was thick and flavorful. Too often eel sauce is thinned out in restaurants that are trying to cut corners. This was not the case at Nano. The experience was really good. However, I was still hungry so we decided to go with another Mini Godzilla roll. To my surprise, the chef laid out the plate in a completely different fashion but still equally thought out and impressive. Nano was fairly priced and the experience was good. It is your above average sushi experience at a reasonable price that your thankful is BYOB and walking distance from where you live.

I really love sushi! And this place, they know what they’re doing! We came here with a friend who lives in the area, we’re suburban… you know, we rolled in with our stroller and sleeping baby at 6:30 on a Saturday night… no big deal. The sushi was fresh, tasty and served super quickly! The server was nice, and by nice, I mean she brought us free dessert! It was really yummy and we’ll for sure tell all of our friends about it!
