The owner is unpleasant, to say the least, and the building itself and management have a lot of problems. Even the low rent they charge isn’t worth it. Renters are better off paying an extra $ 100 to live elsewhere. * There are bed bugs in several units, that I know of. * The owner has accused renters of not paying a deposit because they have no receipt. There are rumors that previous management was let go for taking money, such as deposits, and skimming off people’s rent. * It takes a long time to get anything repaired. The front gate buzzer and lobby buzzers didn’t work for years. Leaking pipes under the sink aren’t fixed. Leaking faucets might never be fixed. * Numerous units have water damage because the roof leaks. * Washers and dryers frequently aren’t working. * The owner refuses to set up a bike storage space and then refuses tenants to leave their bikes anywhere but inside their apartments. * Heat is unpredictable, and it can get very cold in the winter. * They don’t paint regularly. * The common areas(e.g., stairs and the surrounding walls) are filthy. * When the bank comes to inspect the building, the owner takes them to the same unit that is kept up better than the others. * All appliances are secondhand, and most have problems.
