I would give ZERO stars if i could. We order from here once a week for our office. We called today to place our order and the girl on the other ened rudely stammered out. If you are ordering from more than one person we cant help you. Call back later. Are you kidding me? Last time I checked you were a business, and your job is to help. Word of mouth goes a long way… Never againwill we patron you.

Do I really want to be charged extra for a few sliced pickles? Not really, especially when the food is nothing special and the portion size is a bit on the stingy side for the prices charged. Oh, BTW, there’s Benjyehuda, Roti, and Mezza within easy walking distance of Nesh. Nesh? Not! No more.

A coworker had taken me here to try food for lunch. I’m a huge Naf Naf fan, I was benchmarking my experience there with it. We ordered the falafel plate to eat at Nesh with couscous and roasted hummus. The standout of the dish was the roasted hummus. I loved the roasted taste of it, which I had never had. The falafel was also very good, at par with Naf Naf. The couscous and the salad topped off a very delightful lunch. It’s definitely a place I’m heading to for lunch!

Oh Nesh Nesh Nesh… I’ve got to say, for a chain Mediterranean restaurant, the food is pretty darn good considering it’s cheap for the city, fast, and ready to go in a view and grab set up. The line is intimidating when you walk in, but have no fear, it goes super quick. I’ve never had to stay in line for over 10 minutes. I’m a fan of their Falafel Pita Pocket which I get loaded with falafel, of course, couscous, veggies, and their hot sauce. When I say loaded, they literally load it up with everything you ask for. The pita itself makes me so full, but I can’t not eat it all in one sitting. They had a promotion to add a Lentil soup for $ 1 dollar with the purchase of an entrée, and that just was complete overkill. Talk about Mediterranean food coma. The Lentil soup is really delicious and is served in a pretty large container. When you’re there, grab their Mint Lemonade. It is bomb. It tastes like a mojito without alcohol(which, if you’re looking for a little afternoon pick-me-up, there’s a Walgreens around the corner ;)) It’s definitely worth the 3 extra dollars for a refreshing minty drink with your meal. I’m a fan, at least, since this is the only Falafel that can compete with my favorite hole in the wall, Falafelji in Lyons!

I’m a big fan of Mediterranean food having grown up in a Lebanese household. I think Nesh is one of the best fast food Mediterranean places in downtown Chicago(was really bummed then they closed their Lincoln Park location). Despite the sudden proliferation of Middle Eastern places downtown, Nesh is one of only two places I’d consider going if I’m in the mood for shwarma or falafel. The shrock is great(much better than plain pita pockets) and the salad format is very good also if you’re trying to stay healthy. Really wish they posted the nutritional info online like their competitors.

Currently my favorite middle eastern spot in the loop! They have great shawarma and falafel, the veggie kabob was awesome too. I like their soup a lot and both hummous and baba are quality. The upcharge to have hummous added if you choose to get the salad is annoying but whatever. I also really love the Schrock bread they make, definitely a bonus with your sandwich. They do a nice job and I frequent this spot often. Check it out.

Just awful. The steak in my salad was all gristle and the sides were sub-par at best. This is so disappointing as this place used to be so good. Boo hiss, Nesh!

I’m updating after today’s visit and downgrading to a one-star. Why? 1. I can’t sub a grilled veggie kabob for rice in a rice plate without getting charged an extra $ 2.50. What tha? Really Nesh? $ 2.50 for a grilled veggie kabob? Last I checked… Veggies aren’t PROTEIN. 2. The chicken kabob was dry. 3. Friend got steak and said the meat was chalky and had more gristle than not 4. They charged me $.50 for a sprinkling of feta but no one told me before they put it on my salad. I only realized until I got my receipt. 5. Same for $.50 olives that I only got 3 of. You really feel you need to charge for FREAKINGOLIVES? Especially a half dollar for 3??? 5. Pita was a half of a half of pita… Read that again — half of a half of pita. 6. Their tzatziki has turned into a glue like white substance that turned my stomach when I ate it 7. Their«mixed greens» has turned into mostly romaine. I found one piece of spinach. 7. It cost me $ 9.98 Geezus Nesh. What the F happened to you? I don’t visit in 5 months and this what I get? I’m still hungry, disgusted, and $ 10 poorer. Since IDOF is right around the corner I don’t think I’ll be back. Ever.

Fairly standard downtown fast food, Nesh breaks from the pack by serving mediterranean-influenced fare at a reasonable price. While painting all food in the region with a wide brush(ie Moroccan and Greek influences fused into the same burrito-esque wrap). The Chipotle-style counter where one loads up on condiments and accoutrements is a familiar modus operandi. Nesh can’t lead you astray when looking for a quick bite of something different.

This is my second time eating at Nesh! Once it was just brought home for me. I brought a co-worker with me this time and it was her first time. We both got the huge wrap. The #1 on their specialty’s. I also got the mint lemonade, so refreshing but at $ 3 I probably would stick to water. Feels heathy and I don’t want to pass out at my desk after eating.

This is one of those places that’s right at 3.5 stars but I rounded up because the line moved extremely fast and it was cheap and filling lunch. The more detailed review is that this is definitely not the best Mediterranean food around. But for 10 bucks you can get the Taste of Nesh plate that has a both chicken and steak, rice, hummus, cucumber and tomato salad and dill pickles. For a buck more I added the lentil soup which was one of my more favorite items. I think the issue for me was that because they’re trying to feed hundreds of people it seems like, everything is made in huge batches and maybe some of the items missed out on the seasoning. The rice was a bit bland and the chicken was really chewy for some reason, but the steak was tender. The cucumber salad also lacked any flavor and really just took up space on my plate. The hummus was no better than the stuff you buy from the deli section of a grocery store but the tzatziki sauce was great. And the pita bread was cold. Great quick lunch for pretty cheap, but I didn’t feel the love for the food coming here.

This place hits the spot! I just had the shrock which is basically a burrito but in a thinner Mediterranean tortilla loaded with Chicken kabob, humus, cabbage and other deliciousness! I will be back, especially for $ 7.50.

I discovered Nesh while I was an undergrad at DePaul University since they used to be located in Lincoln Park. That location has since closed and is now around the corner from my office. It’s like we are growing up together. The food has always been fresh and full of flavor. The Taste of Nesh is a great dish if you are really hungry and want to try everything. Also, I would recommend the chicken shawarma over the steak because there is a lot of gristle in the steak. And the salmon kabobs are delicious and a great add-on if you’re extremely hungry. When they opened a few years ago, I was excited and recommended it to all of my co-workers and even to my boss. We now have Nesh cater our lunch meetings with their lunch boxes which comes with a shrock(think Mediterranean burrito), pita chips with hummus, and a brownie. The brownie is fantastic btw however, the hummus is quite bland. The food is good, but with all of the other Mediterranean options nearby(Roti, Benjyehuda, Mezza, iDOF, GRK, Naf Naf, etc.) it is hard for Nesh to differentiate. The salmon kabob is the only reason that keeps me going back to Nesh.

We enjoyed lunch at Nesh Mediterranean Grill today. The owner and his employees stood ready and smiling at the counter. We were greeted and assisted right away. M got a falafel shrock and I got a chicken shawarma plate. I was given yellow rice and sides: baba ghanoush(my absolute favorite), red cabbage, Jerusalem salad, and a bonus of Israeli cous cous. On top of my chicken shawarma, I got some refreshing tzatiki sauce. My meal was absolutely delicious. I was surprised that I loved the rice as much as I did. It was light, had a slightly citrus-y flavor, and was wonderful! However, my favorite was the baba ghanoush. It was chunky, smokey, and amazing. Another surprise was the falafel. It was moist and had rich flavors. The outside was perfectly light and crispy. The inside was moist, warm, and soft. The space at Nesh was clean, modern, and sleek lines. Combined with the delicious food and friendly faces, Nesh is a real winner.

This is one of the worst lunch spot in the Loop. I got a salad with chicken kebob, and while chicken kebob was good, the rest of the salad was awful. The greens were wilted and the cabbage tasted spoiled. I ate only about a third of it and went back to work hungry. The place is also very noisy, so it’s hard to hold a conversation. Avoid if possible.

Great people, making great food! Today is my last day working in the loop(off to new adventures!), and I’m going to miss having this loop lunch staple so nearby! The falafel is always crispy and moist, not too dense or dry, just perfect! It goes perfectly with the garlicky baba ghanouj. Not to mention, the yummy lentil soup has been my saving grace in this cold, bitter winter. Seriously, I’d eat this by the vat. SOGOOD. I’m going to miss this place!

My buddy took me here for lunch, since I suggested GRK. He said, if I love GRK, which I do, I would think that Nesh is heaven. He was pretty close to right. This place is similar to GRK in set up and Chipotle. The plates are cheap and fresh. I got the chicken wrap with felafel and everything with spicy hummus and tahini. It’s kinda weird as a wrap though, that your meat is hot and your hummus is really cold, so it took me back. I think next time I will do a plate with a pita side.

Solid 3 stars here. The pros: –like chipotle, pick a plate, salad, burrito/wrap deal –cheap lunch at under $ 8.00 –patio –yummy baba gonoush The cons: –lots of bland rice, little protein –the bar of tzchotskies for the toppings is served by employees –the herd you through here quick! So you better know what you want. –patio is under the el– gets loud Overall a solid lunch option in the loop for half of what I spend at Pret close to the office.
