I have seen Dr. Nicholson twice now, for a shoulder problem. Heard he was one of the best. On my first visit, spent most of the time with his physician assistant. They prescribed more PT(I had ALREADY had 6 weeks of PT with another doctor), a Medrol dosepak, said come back in 6 weeks. When I went back, my shoulder was no better. Dr. Nicholson came in with 2 «observers,» gave me a VERY quick exam, said I needed surgery, didn’t listen to me(talked over me) when I was trying to explain a new problem with my shoulder, and actually walked out of the room when I was in mid-sentence asking a question(allegedly to get a sheet of exercises for me to take home). Sent a young assistant back into the room to explain the exercises and to tell me to come back again in 5 weeks. I don’t think I will have my surgery with him, he left me feeling that my shoulder problem was not important enough to him. Maybe because I don’t play with the White Sox.

had shoulder surgery by NIchiolson, I admit he is experienced in this field, but when you dont show your face before and after surgery to your patient inside the OR, there was definitely some doubts in my mind whether he did my surgery or not. Very upsetting in many ways because I had questions, was kinda nervous and a feeling of being upset after surgery is definitely not good… very much negative… though yes, am doing good but this doctor does not explain lots of things, he lets his«assistants» handle for him which is also annoying because a female assistant is not really nice and always rushing and jumping around, and will stay in the room with you for couple of minutes and will not allow you to ask questions… so is that a good doctor??? in my opinion, not… Ive had excellent doctors at Rush, least to say, my other doctors at Rush are great doctors, very caring, excellent, to mention, Dr. Dowlat, Dr. Nye, Dr. Haberkamp, except for this one… so did I made a mistake in choosing him… be the judge…
