Food is amazing! I got the French style eggs Benedict with truffle hollandaise sauce. It was incredible and very satisfying. My only criticism is the service could be a little better. Our server wasn’t the most attentive but regardless, enjoyed the experience here.

The Good: Service is pretty good. They are down to earth and friendly. I really enjoyed my crepes — they were warm, gooey, and just downright satisfying. My boyfriend got the original eggs Benedict and didn’t care much for the strong lemon taste in his hollandaise sauce. I, however, LOVE lemon so I thought it was great. The Not-So-Good: Coffee is not free(which I guess should’ve been obvious) but just a heads up in case you’re new. I didn’t love the hash browns. They were slightly powdery and mushy and just weird. The reason I leave a 3 is because the food was okay. A good eat. Not spectacular and slightly pricey. The menu didn’t have many unique options. The experience somehow wasn’t memorable and I don’t think it’s something I’d come back to when I’m in town again.

I love Nookies Too! It’s up there as one of my favorite brunch places in Chicago. You can always count on a line here but it’s worth it. I love going after an especially grueling run or yoga class and refueling for the day(carb-loading at its best!). I would recommend the breakfast burrito if you’re really hungry and any of the omelettes if you’re just hungry but not really hungry. Be sure to get the potatoes with whatever you order though-they are not to be missed. If you’re into pancakes or French toast-I love the chocolate chip pancakes. They’re cooked to perfection and never overdone as they are always a little on the gooey side-perfect in my opinion. The service at Nookies Too is always spot on and everyone seems to enjoy being there-both patrons and servers. The crowd is mostly local and a lot of slightly hungover DePaul students so you can count on some good and entertaining people watching while you wait for your table.

Food tastes great! We had the Paris Benedict. Didn’t look too great but tasted amazing!!! Also had the Brioche Napoleon, which also was amazing. Coffee refills would have been nice, without me having to ask for a refill when he brought our check. Smaller place but great little brunch diner.

We here on a Saturday for brunch. The place was really busy. RSVP is you can. The prices are reasonable. The service was great, she made sure we had water and coffee right away. Service: I will give it a 4 star. I gave it a 3 star for my food. I got the smoked brisket hash and I just wasn’t impressed. The presentation of the food on the plate was not appetizing to me. I really only ate the brisket part, I left everything else on my plate. My friend ordered the pancakes and ham and her food was great, she really enjoyed it. Next time I will stick to more simple foods.

The orange juice and service are really good so far — I am also here at 2 pm on Saturday so not sure what’d it be like during the weekend morning chaos. I had the French toast brioche, bacon and eggs and it was solidly good. Just nothing to be like ZOMG about. It came out super fast though which is always nice — A little pricey but nice helpings. I’d come back but it’d have to be because I was in the area… The people who work there are very nice!!!

3.5 stars. I know their menu options go way beyond breakfast, but I’ve only ever been here early morning after a night of blackout drinking at my buddy’s down the block. My routine is the same: shuffle past, stop, drunkenly process that food needs to happen, walk in. I always sit at the counter, and the servers are always awesome. I’d give this place another star just for them, but who knows if they’re still there. Anyways, two eggs over easy, toast, hash browns, coffee. I keep it simple and I’m satisfied every time. They never disappoint. But they never«wow» either, which is why I just can’t go past three and a half stars on this one. Again, my experience here is limited, but sometimes you get the sense a place isn’t really trying to break any new ground. While that’s OK, in my book food that is excellently standard never gets past four stars. If I ever go beyond breakfast here, you’ll be the first to know.

Ridiculous. One of the most rude comments I’ve ever received by a waitress happened here. After enjoying good food and great service with our waitress, our large group was was having a cup of coffee after paying our check. Another waitress, named Ashley, who — I kid you not, wasn’t even OUR waitress, walked up to our table and said, «we have a wait, you know…» and she made a judgmental noise and look at our table, then walked away. Outraged, we talked to the management, but word to the wise — if Ashley is that rude to a table that isn’t even hers, I can only imagine how she’d treat her own tables. PS. there wasn’t even any patrons waiting for a table(so weird!!) and another table nearby was already empty… so odd. After confronting her, she showed no remorse and did not offer an apology. She also was hesitant to even give us her name. Not so bold after all, huh? Both we and our actual waitress were confused by Ashley’s attack. Brunch is not about«getting in and out quickly,» it’s about good food and good times with friends. Today we saw how wait staff can attempt to ruin this. Thank goodness we were with good friends on a beautiful day!

Brunch food was mediocre and the service even worse. No salt or flavor to the eggs, veggies, and hash browns. Beware of the waiter(the short, stocky guy)…he won’t refill your coffee or come by at all to check on you. And don’t expect friendliness… the guy never cracked a smile the entire time and didn’t bother getting our check at the end… we had to get up and ask another waitress who rang us up at the front. Only saving grace… the owner(I am assuming she is the owner)…the lady was sweet, friendly, and patient and she was the only reason I left that place with a smile.

This family style café has a very friendly staff that serves the best French toast in the city! I had the peaches and berries summer seasonal French toast and it was so flavorful with the fruit and a crêpe-like vanilla butter topping. Word of caution: the food is very rich and heavy, 1 plate can serve 2 people easy

Came in on a slow day, so my first cup of coffee was served Luke warm. The second cup was much warmer but not hot. Thermos systems suck on slow days. I ordered sweet and savory. French toast was great, sausage really good! My eggs were under cooked and had water running out on fried eggs. I believe that is caused by old eggs! Nice place but for 2.75 cup of cold coffee and runny eggs I would not return. Plus the eggs and sausage was served on a plate with an orange slice… Boring.

Un brunch, un brunch, encore un brunch ! Quel paradis ce pays, pour les brunch… Passons.

Pretty nice brunch place in Lincoln Park. Giving it a solid 4 stars because everything was delicious AF and just a couple of dollars overpriced but I’ve been to a lot of way better brunch places.

Was in town visiting a friend who recommended Nookies tree. It was great. Had the Paris benedict recommended by my server. Grilled brioche, gruyère cheese, fresh asparagus, truffle and chive cream sauce, cherrywood smoked bacon and poached egg served with rasted red potatoes. ITWASAMAZING, highly recommend. Speaking of my server, Rich was very pleasant and accomidating. Great service. Thank you gentleman. I will be back.

I travel for work, and when I travel I eat out for breakfast, and on this trip from my home in San Francisco(where the food tends to be great) I was lucky enough to try the Paris Bennedict at Nookies Too. Holy cow. My global search for the best eggs Bennedict can end now. Put down your phone and go out to breakfast at Nookies. That is all.

Old fashioned diner with a nostalgic atmosphere and classical music playing. The menu offers classic American breakfast choices, but also has Mexican inspired dishes that are even better(The desayunos section). Ernesto’s chilaquilas are incredible! Top notch service. I’ll be a regular now.

4 stars for the breakfast and one for helping me find out that Fred Durst made headlines for wearing a shirt that said«NOTROBERT» on it.(Sidenote…watch The Jinx on HBO) Unlike the washed up frontman, the Nookies franchise is definitely still relevant and even opened up this second location that kicks ass. It’s a casual, affordable, and delicious local diner with tons of options for first meal and very efficient service. They’ve got everything from skillets to waffles to huevos rancheros and it’s almost all under $ 10 bucks a plate. Seating is close quartered so if you’re planning to have a hard conversation over your crepes you might want to wait till after you eat. It can also get really busy on weekends, but they hustle hard to get folks in and out with a full belly and feeling happy about the service with a smile. Overall a winner in my book and no the Bizkits weren’t even close Limp.

Breakfast served all day is just necessary. Some people don’t wake up at 8am every morning! Clean, regular looking breakfast establishment. Pretty regular looking wait staff, regular table setting… But that’s what I like! Simple, quality breakfast ingredients. Oh but then there’s the seasonal menu where you can get your fancy breakfasts! Something to please everyone. The wait staff was great. Made a croissant French toast Napoleon even though it wasn’t on the menu. That’s what brought me in! And it’s my last day in Chicago. Can’t expect them to extend this offer again, but really thankful I caught them on this warm Chicago day. :) Breakfast was great, thank you Nookies Too!

Great option in Lincoln Park for a no-frills brunch! Nookies is more of a «diner» than your typical Lincoln Park brunch restaurant, but it’s a neighborhood staple. On weekends, there’s typically a wait at all of the Nookies locations. However, during an off-time, getting a table never seems to be an issue. Came in on a weekday morning and was seated right away. Our waiter came over quickly to bring us menus and then was gone for a while, but other servers brought coffee in the meantime. For brunch, I went with The Smokehouse omelet and it was awesome. The flavor of the caramelized onions went perfectly with the mushrooms, gouda and bacon. I got some tomato slices on the side that added even further to this dish. The boyfriend was in the mood for chili, and an omelet. A thought struck him and he asked our waiter about the possibility of creating a chili omelet. Our waiter said it wouldn’t be a problem and the boyfriend was presented with a giant omelet with an extreme amount of chili and some cheddar. Highly recommend if you’re very hungry. Overall, as you can probably see from other reviews, solid 4. Nothing will blow your mind, but the large portions, low prices, and quick service make Nookies Too a reliable spot in the neighborhood.

Came here for brunch after a late Saturday night. We made reservations about an hour before we got there and didn’t have to wait long to be seated. It was packed(lines out the door) as soon as we sat down. The service was good as soon as we got in but got exponentially worse as the meal went on. We waited about 15 minutes until anyone came to give us water or take our order. Once we put in our orders, the orange juice didn’t come out until the latter half of the meal despite us asking two times. My friend didn’t end up getting one of the things in her order, and it still showed up on her receipt. Basically, the service was subpar for the entirety of our meal. However, I do have to say once the food/drinks came out… it was good. The green goddess skillet I ordered was decent, but I’ve had better. My friends agreed about the taste of their skillets… but I think the service made the experience worse for all of us.

The food and service are good, but the food is so overpriced. The portion sizes are below average for a brunch spot, and the food isn’t really that spectacular, but it’s decent. The service is what’s really great, when I felt like the omelet I got didn’t have any mushrooms, they brought me a whole plate of them on the side! Customer satisfaction is obviously a priority.
