Gotta love this place. It’s about as basic of a «Grocery store» as you can get. I am pretty sure this location is just the distribution center for Oscar’s around Chicago. Reasons being, for one thing the inside of the market looks more like cubicle’d office space and there is pretty much nothing that looks or feels like a traditional grocery store. Also, you have to ring a buzzer at the front door to even get them to let you in. No big deal. And finally, once inside the grocery store pretty much consists of a over sized freezer against one wall. All that being said the inside of the freezer has the tastiest Filipino sausages, lumpia and other assortments(I’ve yet to try them all) I’ve come across. The gentleman will grab whatever you are after and write you up a sales ticket and he is always very friendly and will chat you up if you take a minute to ask him how he’s doing. I’m pretty sure this is a cash only establishment fyi. If you are a fan of Filipino foods this is a place you have to hit.

My family has been eating Oscar’s Foods products my entire life. Tocino, longanisa, lumpia and of course the lechon, can always be found packed away in my mom’s freezer or served up and ready to eat at our many family parties. The quality and taste of their products have always been consistent and delicious, which is what keeps my family loyal to Oscar’s!

The only words that come to mind when I think about Oscar’s Foods are«Yum, Yum, Yum.» Oscar’s Foods has been a household staple in my family for many many years. I look forward to Saturday mornings so I can enjoy a true Filipino breakfast with tocino, eggs, and rice just like my parents did when they were growing up in the Philippines. I always bring packages back to my brother since they don’t really have any Filipino stores where he lives. And during the holidays, they offer special bulk packages that you can give as gifts! It’s such a great idea, especially when I have a lot of family that don’t live in this area. The love for their product really shows in the flavor and quality of this friendly family business. I would definitely recommend Oscar’s Foods to anyone, especially those who have never had Filipino food before. Sure there are other brands out there, but don’t be fooled! Oscar’s Foods is the best.

I’m married to a Filipina and love to cook. Tried many other frozen Filipino foods from local markets but none as good as Oscar’s! Their longanisa, tocino and lumpia shanghai are the best I’ve ever tried. Easy to prepare and tastes delicious! Their prices are great too. I highly recommend their foods. Masarap!

Oscar’s food is a well known brand in my family. We would buy their longanisa, tocino and chicaron for the last 20 years. I highly recommend trying their lumpia too, it’s very tasty and easy to make!!! Also what’s great about them is that if you don’t live close to the Belmont location you can find their longanisa, lumpia, chicharon, and tocino in your local asian/filipino mart. Also, their lechon(roasted pig) is the best in the business because of the meat has so much flavor, very tender and the skin is crispy. I would recommend it for your next party, you won’t regret it!

one day after waking up at a friend’s house after a night of partying I woke up to the smell of sweet tocino and tapa. I couldn’t believe my friend was cooking some authentic filipino food. After eating three servings of tocino, tapa and rice I had to ask him where he got it from. He said it’s from this place in Chicago called Oscar’s foods. I asked him if I can get some delivered and he said they deliver. So whenever I feel like having some good authentic filipino food or when a family party is coming up, I’ll place an order. The longanesa is off the hook — not like others where its almost all fat. The taste is sweet but not too sweet — just sweet enough, perfect. I recently just tried the lumpia, also good but I still prefer the classics — tocino, tapa and longanesa. So if you’re not from Chicago and you want some authentic, good, bring you back to the days when you were young filipino food — I suggest you order some tocino, tapa and longanesa from Oscar’s Foods.

Oscar’s, you still exist?! I’m surprised I’m not entirely«taba»(translation: FAT) from the stuff my family would buy from you… but then we got lazy, sort of stopped cooking and hence why I am now an avid Unilocaler! I remember being as tall as a top-lid freezer when I would come with my parents to buy frozen meat here. We would always get tocino(sweet pork), longanisa(sweet sausage), lumpia(eggrolls), atchara(pickled papaya) and chicharon(fried pork skin) here. I also recall that Oscar’s was the only place that sells lechon(big, honkin’ roasted pig. Yes, the entire pig). I think we stopped buying from Oscar’s directly because Oscar’s also distributes to the local Filipino grocery stores. Oscar’s, I’d give you more stars, but I haven’t been to your store in over 10 years so it’s hard to say if you’re still the same. But you’re a loved fixture in Chicago!

I just moved to Chicago from LA and was looking for a good Filipino brand that carries longaniza, tocino, chicharon and lumpia. My buddies who grew up in Chicago recommended a local brand they all grew up on-Oscar’s Foods. Oscar’s Foods is carried at a lot of the big Asian grocery stores like Unimart. I found out that they also sell cooked lechon. It was better than Goldilocks and Red Ribbon in LA! I highly recommend buying Oscar’s Foods! Must haves: Tocino, Longaniza, Lumpia and Lechon!
