First impressions are important. It decides whether or not you will continue the business relationship. I have to say, it didn’t start out on the right foot. I went to drop off my items first thing in the morning. The door was open, the sign said open, the lights are on, but no one was around. I stood there for 5 minutes to give the staff a chance to come back. I yelled «hello». Nothing. No one was there. I could have walked away with a whole new wardrobe given what was hanging around. Not that there was much there — probably an indication of how business is going. Rather than waste another 5 minutes of my time, I left with my uncleaned clothes in hand, never to return.

I’ve had a winter coat cleaned with buttons replaced here as well as the routine dry cleaning services. I like that they will deal with leather too as I’ve had some cleaners turn items away. The fees are reasonable and I was happy with how my clothes looked. I would give five stars if they were a green cleaners with toxic free options.

I started taking my clothes to Paramount Cleaners because it is conveniently located less than a block away from where my wife and I live. They are competitively priced and their service is professional and timely, which includes next day service. All that adds up to a FOUR STAR review. But I had an occasion when they went above and beyond what I would expect from a business.
Paramount Cleaners is a cash/​check only business. I dropped in on my walk home from work to pick up some shirts before they closed. I needed one of the shirts for the next day. I didn’t have any cash with me, and I never carry checks. Without any excuse or pleading from me, the owner let me take home my shirts without paying, letting me know that next time I passed by I could pay the tab. My wife dropped in the next day and paid the balance. In a big city, I thought that was a neat ‘neighborhood’ thing to do.

It’s close, convenient (for me), and timely. They are reasonably priced and they make good on their delivery time even if it’s a day turnaround. Some other dry cleaner will have to offer free donuts or coffee for me to walk more than the 50 yards I walk to Paramount.
