So far, every time I have used the Unilocal app, it has taken me right to the sight I am looking for. Thank you.

This is the lace I used to go with my grandma as a kid! It brought back so many memories and reminded me of the grocers in Japan in a way. All of the pears were individually wrapped in paper and looked like swaddled babies. I took my wife but she didn’t go in because it was a rainy blustery kind of day. We went to get watermelon to cure a hangover and got some grapes for extra measure. My grandma died in the 90’s and I felt her spirit today. This place also sells butchered meats and other non produce items but it can be a little pricey. They sell really good products and most of the staff are bilingual. I recommend this over the larger grocer chains for a few reasons. One the quality is superior. Two, it’s smaller and easier to navigate, and it’s NOT a chain! It always feels better to support the independent guy.

I frequent this store because it’s close to home and quick. I go here when I need food fast and don’t want to go to a large grocery store such as Jewel. The produce is almost always fresh and the advertised sale items are usually available(unlike Jewel). Just don’t go on the busy weekends. My biggest complaints are that some of the chicken,(especially the«party wings») looks like they were raised or produced in horrible conditions. They have many broken bones and bruises. I wonder what farm they get their chicken from. It needs to be inspected. Also the so-called butchers are idiots and I find it extremely hard to believe that any of them actually went to school to learn the art of butchery. For instance; I once requested a steak or roast«well marbled» and the butcher didn’t know what I was talking about, so I had to explain it.

This’ll do in a pinch if you can’t get to Hyde Park Produce as far as the produce itself goes. There is a butcher shop in the back of the store with good prices, but the quality is hit or miss. The store is also small and not well laid-out, so it can get crowded fast. If you bring your own reusable grocery bags, be prepared to explain to the bagger – several times – how to use them. They will continue to try to package your stuff in the plastic bags. One bagger even demanded, «What, you don’t want the plastic bags?!» in a very aggressive tone, as if I had offended him. Then he walked away, a new bagger came, and I had to explain it to him all over again. Twice.

So sick of this store. Went in Sunday an stood in the meat line for damn near 30 mins for a special on Chicken Leg Quarters at .49¢ per pound. Got it home only to realize that the damn meat was spoiled! Not the first time that I have purchased bad meat here. Forgive my language but its very annoying when trying to prepare dinner for your family only to realize the meat is bad. This is not the first time that I have purchased spoiled meat here. Have also purchased meat here that looks all beat and bruised as though the Chickens were in a fight before being slaughtered. Petes Produce is making a fortune in our Community! The least they could do is provide FRESHMEAT!!!
