Well, here’s the real reason to go to Taste of Chicago – at least one day will feature a performer you would love to see for free. Or for $ 25.00, if you manage to score tickets before they sell out and want to sit in the pavilion. Whom did I see? Oh, so glad you asked. It just so happened that ROBERTPLANT!!! and his band the Sensation Space Shifters were playing. Who would miss seeing Robert Plant playing for free? Not me. Of course, he was UH-MAAAAAYYY-ZING! But this review is for the band shell. The sounds is really good no matter where you are from the stage, and there’s a jumbotron so you can see the performers even if you’re in the free seats. The atmosphere is very chill and even if you come alone you’ll end up hanging out with somebody cool. They have the usual concert venue rule of no cameras or video, which is pretty much ignored by the smartphone crowd(everyone). Why is why there is a video on some stranger’s Facebook page of me when Sir Robert started singing«What is and What Should Never Be» and I clean lost all my shit!

We went on the fourth to the taste of Chicago. It was hot, and there were no concessions inside the gated area. Basically, if you are in the gate, you have a great seat, if not, forget it. The stamp and return policy didn’t seem to work, as there were a ton of open seats that should’ve been able to be used. The seats were uncomfortable, but hey, once the main act came out there wasn’t much sitting around anyway. The security was alright. Although, a lot of the staff didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing. Great sound though. Kind of surprised me. It was hot, but we had a blast.
