We go here about once a week for Thai. The dishes are a little on the small side but good. The sushi isn’t bad but not amazing. Overall, it’s worth a stop.

Delicious and generous udon stir fry for a fair price(by Chicago standards anyhow). Good service

Here’s what I tried here: Chicken/Shrimp with Oyster Sauce Wings Cashew Chicken The Magma Roll(Maki) Everything was excellent and the sauce was sauce on the chicken was DELICIOUS. The service was already really great(especially considering that we went on a Friday night). I am taking away 1 star because this restaurant does something that is an extreme pet peeve of mine – they charged a corkage fee for EVERYONE at the table… and didn’t uncork anything for us… we did it ourselves. I have no objection to corkage fee’s in general, but I kind of want to feel(at least be able to pretend) that I’m actually paying for a service and them not opening anything definitely made me feel like we got shorted. There were 12 people in my party so we paid an extra $ 12…essentially for a ice bucket… which just did not feel like a great value to me. When I go again(which I will, because the food was great) I think We’ll just get drinks there to avoid this scendario.

Day 148: Where does one go to steel one’s self against an apartment deathly in the grips of Whole30 madness? A magical place. A place of noodles, sugar, peanuts, and soy. Which is to say, a Thai restaurant. And the Polygon Café is quite a good one. So for my little lunch for one, I started off with Gyoza for an appetizer, then moved on to Beef Pad See-ew. Very tasty, and more than enough to take home for a 2nd meal in reserve. I had gone in-between the lunch and the dinner rushes, so service was prompt, though I hope I can go back when it’s a little more atmospheric. Also, I didn’t really see many Polygons there. That feels like false advertising.

We came in for a quick sushi fix. We got the salmon maki($ 5) and nigiri($ 2.5) as well as the escolar maki($ 6). The sushi was prepared rather quickly — within 10 mins. It tasted fresh and the fish to rice ratio was fair. I would definitely come back again.

This is definitely my go-to take out place from now on. I’ve gotten take-out from here twice in two weeks because the food is so good. My favorite is the Spicy Udon noodles, but the Yakisoba noodles are delicious, too! Also, received a $ 10 off GrubHub coupon which is a perk! The place is super cute so I’m sure at some point I’ll actually dine in.

Oh my gosh I can’t get over how delicious their lemon pepper crispy calamari appetizer was! They are great to devour alone or with the honey wasabi dipping sauce. We split an order with an order of edamame for our group of 6. The main entrees were also good — lots to choose from since it’s a Thai/pain Asian restaurant. I was craving sashimi so I went for the sashimi bento box. The pieces were surprisingly fresh. The box came with house salad, tempura, and a California roll, so I was pretty full. Reasonably priced too. My brother tried one of the medium spiced curries — he said it was good in between sweating it out. Service was kind of slow, but there was only one person working and there were only two other parties besides us for a late mid-day lunch. She was pretty friendly and patient with our rather boisterous and somewhat drunk group who just finished the Half Acre Brewery tour right before lunch.

This is a treasure! Great atmosphere and location in Andersonville. We had the Pad Thai and the Lad Nar they were delicious and on point. Oh did I mention it’s a great value. We shall return!!!

I love the food here, but I have to say, the portions are drastically different when ordering delivery. Portions when dinning in are very generous, but quite small when ordering delivery. I still give them a solid 4 stars because I’ve never had a bad meal here. My absolute favorite dish here is the spicy udon noodle with tofu and the tempura. I also enjoy how the menu includes sushi! It’s a cute, clean and modern looking restaurant. Unfortunately I never really see the restaurant busy, hopefully there delivery business is bringing in enough profit to keep them afloat!

Stopped in for a quick dinner before going out. Thai food wasn’t meeting expectations but the sushi was tasty. Get the sushi.

We might as well just have a standing take-out order from this place ready to go whenever we don’t feel like making dinner. It is amazingly good food, fast and the ambiance is perfect. They have the nicest patio/inside combo with large windows that open onto Clark St and provide breeze without having to deal with people tripping over your chair. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is delicious. There is a corkage fee, but you can bypass it by just trying a thai beer, which is delicious, too! All the noodle and curry dishes can be made vegetarian and its such a good place if you’re avoiding gluten and/or dairy. Their dishes are perfectly spiced, never salty and just the right size.

My partner and I absolutely love this place! We’ve been coming here since they’ve opened and really appreciate the wonderful servers who are always so sweet, the food which is amazing, and the general lack of judgement when we order spicey mayo with everything :) I also have to say the wooden paneling in the place is awesome! I’ve been plotting to replicate it in our condo, because why not right! Highly recommend if you’re venturing in the beautiful Andersonville neighborhood go the day. Don’t forget to BYOB, but I do believe there is a $ 3 charge per person to do so.

A friend of mine was visiting from the ‘burbs and wanted some sushi for lunch. You would be surprised at how many sushi places are not open for lunch on a Saturday! After realizing we couldn’t go to one of my usual sushi joints, I went to Unilocal in search of a noon-time sushi meal & you guys led me to Polygon. We did not participate in the BYOB, but I do agree with everyone else saying that if it really is $ 3 corkage/person, that’s highway robbery. But, my 4 stars are for our meals… the sushi was delicious! Super fresh, presented nicely & very reasonably priced. I’m glad we ended up here and would definitely come back.

This place is really cute and located in the heart of Andersonville! They have proportionate entrees for a thai restaurant(not massively huge). The prices are very reasonable so this is a great place to do a girls night, which is what we did. They serve alcohol, which is convenient, since a lot of places around here are only BYOB! The pad khee mao is delicious and nice and spicy. I wish the chicken was a bit fresher though — I hate that frozen taste, which I think this is. I would stick to the veggie options here.

Pure, simple perfection. The food is clean, simple and fresh, and it’s beautifully presented. I had tofu and veggies with a light nutty garlic sauce. When I ordered it I was concerned that the garlic would be overpowering. This was not the case at all. The sauce was flavorful yet mellow. The tofu was soft and the broccoli and carrots al dente. Perfect and comforting. My friend had the red curry and loved it. Portions are not huge but the quality is high. Service was super attentive. Clark St. In Andersonville is a good place to walk around. There’s lots to see and do. Make sure you stop in at Polygon Café.

Corkage fee is $ 3 a person!!! Came in sat down and noticed the menu didn’t have any alcohol. One of our friends wanted wine so she along with another friend go across the street to buy a bottle of wine. 2 out of 4 of us have a glass of wine and we are charged $ 12 as a corkage fee!!!

Just popped in for a quick snack last night and drinks. Had the avocado maki and house saki which was surprisingly tasty for house saki! Prices were great. Ambiance was nice. Service was good and speedy. They are currently running a promotion on Unilocal for a free drink or miso soup if you check in on Unilocal,so be sure to do so! I will definitely be back for dinner sometime.

It took me way too long to try this place for how close it is to me. My loss, because it’s really solid. Dine-in is a nice experience, but they also offer a good $ 7.50 or 7.95 weekday lunch special which sometimes tickles my fancy on work-from-home days. With the exception of a spring roll – which came straight from the refrigerator and tasted as if it had been there for weeks – all of the food has been really good. The pad thai is very nice, with thinner noodles than usual but good flavor and lots and lots of tofu. Pad pak is even better; the vegetables carry a nice grilled taste. The drunken noodles are excellent too. My favorite dish so far is the delicious basil entrée, so damn flavorful with an assertive but not overpowering heat. Tom kha soup gets a thumbs up, the garlic and ginger entrees are pretty decent, and even the humble egg roll is really, really good.

Usually when I hang out with my dad, I eat Vietnamese food or gyros lol. But today, I wanted to try something new. So I decided to take my dad to this sushi place. I found it on Unilocal when searching for sushi places in the Chicagoland area. It had relatively good reviews and a 4⁄5 rating. When we walked in around 1pm today on a Monday, we were the only people in there. I was kind of skeptical about eating here since there were no other customers but I gave this restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I ordered several sushi rolls including shrimp tempura, Philadelphia, Mexican, and spider! Can you say quality rolls?!? Those were freakin delicious. They were made so perfectly. Each roll was about $ 7. No lunch time deals like other sushi places but one advantage is the quality. So soooooooo soooooo good! In addition to this, we got the pad Thai with chicken which was also bomb. The server was not the over friendly type. She just got the job done with a hint of friendliness. I really really love ginger with sushi. I always ask for extra(like a lot extra) but I’ve never been charged for extra ginger. When I asked her for extra ginger a second time, she was gonna charge me. I immediately said forget it. Moments later, she ended up bringing it out anyway for no cost. So in the end, I think it clicked for her. Otherwise, she was a decent server. All in all, I would recommend this place for sushi. Their lunch menu is okay. Check it out!

A few nights ago my family was visiting from out of town. We all wanted sushi and we tried two other places. One had a two hour wait and the other was closed for the holiday. I’m really happy the other two didn’t work out or we never would’ve tried Polygon! This place was delicious. To start, the atmosphere was great. They have a great layout and each table is placed perfectly within the small space. We sat by the big open windows. It was just as good as sitting on a patio. The energy from the neighborhood was electric. I ordered three hand rolls… the same three hand rolls I order at every sushi restaurant: salmon skin, spicy tuna and negi hamachi. They were great. Some of the best i’ve had in Chicago. My family all ordered different maki and they loved their orders. I don’t remember what they had because I was too wrapped up in my own delicious feast. Right now they’re still byob but they do serve alcohol. The corkage fee is minimal compared to the price of wine so I gladly accepted it. Our waitress was great. She seated us instantly and served us promptly. She helped my gluten-free mother order from the menu and was very attentive. I can’t wait to go back!
