Was in the area running an errand & decided to use my handy dandy coupon for some chicken tenders. This location has a newer(pothole free) parking lot with a lot of spots, but maybe just 1 handicapped spot though. The restaurant itself is fairly neat but many of the tables needed to be wiped down. A wall of plexiglass will greet you along with the ever-so-hood loud speaker as a means of communication. Regardless, I received a somewhat sincere sounding greeting & offer to take my order. The exchange was pleasant but not at all chatty, she was there to work, NOT to make friends! Food was served quickly & with a thank you, which is sadly a rarity these days. I would call that a good Saturday in the Auburn Gresham/Englewood area any day!

This is the WORST Popeye’s in the nation! I will not ever, EVER, EVAH go back to this one, and I love Popeye’s. Customer service is HORRIBLE. If this place isn’t closed down in 3 months, then it should be. Manager must have gotten her G.E.D. from a Gumball machine. TERRIBLE, just TERRIBLE!!!

Popeye’s is a great franchise all on its own, so it automatically gets four stars in my book. I admit that this location is a bit far to travel from my place, but what it suffers for in distance, it makes up for in ease of travel. I’m at this location especially often when it’s cold and snowy outside and I have a craving for delicious spicy Popeye’s chicken and biscuits and fries. Because it’s one bus ride. If I can survive the 2 blocks travel to the #44 bus stop, this takes me all the way directly to Popeye’s. The only thing this location is lacking is location-based special deals. When you come in, there’s supposed to be an array of special deals that you can pick from and get a lot of food for not as much money as without the deal. I mean I know they have family value deals and the combo meals and such, but sometimes the main rationalization you can make for spending money and not having to cook is that you didn’t spend as MUCH money as you should have spent for the same amount of food. But this location is clean. The staff is friendly. I haven’t been hassled by anyone(despite the worries of everyone I talk to when I mention I go down to 76th just for some delicious chicken) on any of my trips. If anything, I kinda feel bad for this location. There’s a LOT of fried chicken competition in this neighborhood. It’s up against a Harold’s Chicken Shack and several other chicken joints along that stretch of Racine that the #44 bus gives access to. But it’s Popeye’s, dammit. And I’ll keep coming back. Even if it means making two stops because when I get cravings, they often come in pairs and I need a fix of Harold’s with mild sauce as well as spicy chicken and buttery biscuits from Popeye’s.
