They are no longer in business. I guess it’s all for the best as the area was seedy and the cleanliness became questionable.

Okay I really hate to write this review, because a friend of the owner asked me not to, but I always like to be honest and I think things like this should be addressed. Also after trying to make an attempt to speak with the owner and got no reply, it is something I now feel compelled to do. Now I have been to another Quench when they had it over off of 83rd street, that one to me was by far the best, not only the food, but also because of the workers, you could tell they really cared. However I have been to this Location a few times and I realize that something here is broke, and it needs to be fixed. Upon my very first visit there was an older guy that was an employee he was off duty, had children with him and they were all over the place getting into things and they were beating each other up not quite sure what he was doing in the back but not a good deal, especially because the waiting area is so small. To me it didn’t really bother me so much because I love kids, but then when the guy started inappropriately to another co worker I kindly removed myself from the store until my order was ready. The girl that waited on me was a younger girl and was on top of her work, polite, and knowledgeable. Now upon my second visit I came there asking for two things on the menu, I was told after waiting that they did not have this item, the problem was is there was a serious breakdown within the company. The girl that was working there which was also a younger girl but not the same one from before said she was from a different store and they had all of this at her location so she assumed they had it there, which for her assuming it cost me 20 minutes of waiting. Also this young lady that waited on me was on her cell phone which is rude, if your coming to a business to do business with them, the staff should be courteous, and attentive to your needs, your the customer, you make or break their business. Then after I want back in the store and had to change my order I also found out I needed to change the young lady I brought with me her order as well because they didn’t have jerk chicken. So now here we are 30 minutes set back because someone was on their cell and didn’t take the time to know what they had to offer at this location and what they didn’t. I do not blame all of this on the girl who took my order, I blame it on the owner, she needs to do a better job training people instead of just putting them in a store with no knowledge of what they carry for menu items. Also if money may be that scarce that you cannot change the menu, then it would help if you took the time to cross it out and let your staff know so that there aren’t anymore mistakes like the one we encountered, Now these costly mistakes took us one hour in the rain back and forth from the car to finally get our orders, I was not happy with what I was reduced to, and my friend wasn’t happy either, in fact she only ate half and threw the rest away. I go to a lot of places and I think that if your going to run a business that you want to be successful, you need to make sure your customers are satisfied, this altercation has me so disappointed that I do not wish to visit anymore stores in their chain.

Their turkey burgers are cheap and great. The poor service is unfortunate because the place isn’t pretty either…

I got a Groupon for this place and recently went to see if their food got better. The answer is no. I don’t understand why their food is so wet, the bread on the burger is always sopping wet. I got a turkey burger and wasn’t impressed. I only wanted to get a turkey burger that was under the Groupon amount and they forced me to buy until I used the whole Groupon amount, which made no since. Plus they didn’t have a lot food from their menu either. I was disappointed.

GROUPONSBEWARE!!! So my boyfriend and I went to use the groupon that we purchased and the service was HORRIBLE!!! The woman behind the counter was so rude I will NEVER go back. When placing the order she rudely kept asking me to repeat myself. I ordered the BBQ turkey tips with a side of mac and cheese and greens. She advised me they did not have greens with an attitude like how dare I ask for that, like I should have known. I then asked for spinach, same attitude, no spinach. Then I asked for cabbage and she she just typed it on the screen without a word. She gave me the total and I handed her the groupon. She snatched the paper and when handing my receipt I politely said thank you and she just stared at me like why was I wasting her time. So my boyfriend ordered the BBQ chicken, she asked what size quarter or half. He said half and order the sauteed corn and mac and cheese as his sides. The total came out to more that what the menu stated so we asked what was the price difference. She stated the price listed was for the ¼ dark so my boyfriend asked to change his order to the ¼ dark. She proceeds to mumble under her breath ‘they come in here with these groupons and then don’t even know what they want to order’. So I see my boyfriend ready to make a comment but I politely ask him not to. At this point the sooner I can get out the better. Orders placed, we sit and wait, The lady behind the counter proceeds to talk to the cook stating that every time she works she has to deal with a bunch of groupons all day and swears they only appear when she has to work. I’m sorry but if you did not want groupons redeemed then why was this location listed as an option? We did receive our food pretty quickly and even when handing over our meals, we both say thank and she proceeds to turn her back and walk away without a word. HORRIBLESERVICE!!! The food itself was ok. I did enjoy the turkey tips although it was mostly bones, The mac and cheese and cabbage were good as well. The jerk chicken was not spicy and tasted more like roasted chicken. The corn just needed some help altogether. All in all, I will never visit that establishment again.

had a groupon for this place, specials are listed on boards but to get the full menu you have to pick up one of those to go type menus to see what you want. the only fish they had that night were shrimps, everything else was gone and this was at like 7 and they dont close til 11, while deciding i noticed the cook had a big olé container of frozen vegetables oh my. the lady taking orders was not really nice either. i ordered the turkey chops with mashed potatoes and spinach and the peach iced tea. the tea was good, thanked the lady and she did not say you welcome jus a blank stare, the food it was really bland, the potatoes were true smashed potatoes but there was no butter or cream so they were really dry, they did have a nice garlic flavor but i should not have to fix my food before i eat it. so once i added butter to the potatoes and salt to everything it was edible and ok. the servings were huge, it took me three sittings to finish everything. they do have a lot of interesting items on the menu but im afraid if i go back all im gonna hear is we aint gat…

Quench is a toss up. I agree with other reviewers. Quench is slow. However, just call ahead. It’s not that difficult. 95% of the time my food has been awesome. There are times when it is mediocre. I would prefer some consistency. Anyway, I’ve had the turkey burgers and the smothered turkey chops. I absolutely love smothered turkey chops. They are the best things ever. Quench is cheap. Perfect for a quick meal after work when you don’t feel like cooking. If you don’t live in Bronzeville, it’s probably not worth it to drive there just to have it.

It’s best to call your order in if you don’t want to wait around 20 – 30 minutes as the food is cooked only once ordered. The menu is awesome with healthy and yummy options for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Though I have to warn you that the veggie Italian, veggie gyros and veggie tacos are all just veggie burgers chopped up and seasoned differently which is hilarious to me, but I still order the stuff(LOL). The cost is a little on the expensive side for this type of restaurant(no seating, take out only) and the attitudes can be a little overbearing if you are not accustomed to «what do you want» look. They do have specials monthly. For example in April they had a buy one chicken dinner get another free special which is a pretty good deal. It was not well advertised though, you essentially have to ask about the specials or read everything on the walls and boards before you order if you want to take advantage of it.

The non-beef and non-pork revolution is here… BIGTIME! Seeing a place like Quench nearby is a great dining option, considering my bf doesn’t eat beef or pork anymore. But in the few times that we have tried Quench, the food(i.e., flavor and temp) was great, but the portions are microscopic for the price. This week, we bought a turkey polish, turkey burger, and grilled tilapia with two sides for $ 23!!! The burger patty was like three White Castle patties and didn’t come with lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup or mayo. The polish was maybe 4 inches long. The tilapia was a nice size but I was only given maybe ¼ cup of sides each. No ma’am! The lady taking the orders seemed to lack an appreciation for customer service. She essentially had a «what do you want?» attitude when I called, and that is not what I accustomed to with their establishment. Oh well! Unfortunately, I don’t see the establishment lasting too long with its current portions and prices, given that it is in a community that is used to getting food for cheap. But best of luck!
