Honestly the best hot dogs I’ve ever had in my entire life I travel to Chicago a lot and never miss this place! Would recommend to anyone, I have been to 6 different continents and this food is by far my favorite!!!

Such a cute little place! We went here today to grab a quick bite to eat. We sat outside in their lovely outdoor area and shared pan de bono(which they only have on weekends and I highly recommend!) arepa blanca con queso, a chicken empanada and a beef empanada. Everything was so good! It was my boyfriends first time eating Colombian food and he very much enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back!

Pretty good place for a non-traditional hot dog. The hot dogs were filling and good, but I am not a fan of quail eggs, so I had to peel them off. They have all sorts of Colombian treats that are pretty tasty. Not too expensive and make sure to try the soup. Very good.

Friendly staff. We’re trying Columbian food for the first time. The Beef & Egg baked Empanadas was wonderful especially with the Aji sauce; a nice hot pepper kick. The Columbian Dogs are a sensational. I had the Oinking Dog: Chorizo & Aji plus quail eggs, and crushed potato chips. The musical variety is up beat adding the right amount of energy to the atmosphere. Oh, the Columbian Hot Mocha was delicious! And you have to get the Pandebono(Cheesebread) pastry with filing! Hot and yummy!

Great Colombian food! The dogs are unique and you can’t pick the wrong flavor of empanada. I left too full to indulge in some Colombian hot chocolate… but we’ll be back soon.

I’ve been wanting to try these Colombian hot dogs and I finally went on Sunday. It was a bit difficult to find the place although it’s on a main street partly because the area is nothing but residential condos. The sign for the restaurant was black with white font, with the name«rapidito» I was expecting something more colorful. Inside was not too big, not too small just right. I had one of the Colombian sodas, Manzana(Apple) which came and in a pink can and to my delight the sode itself was pink. I had fun watching the pink liquid go up the straw from the can into my mouth(I know, weird). I ordered the chorizo hot dog and the salchipapa. My friend had the same. The dog itself was dressed with different sauces and the first thing I though of is wow this isn’t going to be good… But when I took my frost bite I quickly changed my mind. Despite all the different sauces, everything came together with every bite and it was good. The salchipapa was interesting as it bits and pieces of potato, salichicha, and quail eggs. It also came with a dipping sauce and was yummy as well. Two hot dogs and the salchipapa came it to about 23 bucks. I know some people have complained about the portion size but quite frankly we thought it was just right. We were definitely full after inhaling all that good food. I will definitely come back and try other things on the menu.

After a long day at work I decided to try this place recommended by a friend. It was a change in what I normally would eat. I walk in the atmosphere laid back. And the customer service was great. Im a picky eater so I was kinda cautious about the menu. But I took the chance and boy I do not regret it at all!!! I ordered the flying dog. Which had a hotdog in a bun. With crushed chips, quail eggs, there signature pink sauce. It was good. So good I ordered another one. Lol. I even tried the flatbread that had cut up chicken, chips, cheese the pink sauce. I finally found a place where there’s a change in pace with the food and the price… I Normally don’t put a lrice on food… but it was well worth it…

We are visiting from Vancouver Washington. Had the Empanadas– Hawaiian(ham, cheese, pineapple sauce) and Beef and egg! Yum! We also were looking for A“True” Chicago hotdog… but stumbled upon this place. Wow! Very pleased with the service. They allowed us to use the restroom(before we ordered any food). We ordered to go. Presentation was good and the staff wee very friendly to us. We have not tasted«Quail eggs» on a hotdog before, but it tasted great! Thank you Rapidito for a wonderful visit.

You can easily get all sorts of hot dogs here in chicago from gourmet to grilled… but I promise you can’t find hot dogs like these just anywhere. The first time I came here I tried the grazing(steak) flatbread. I can honestly say it was one of the best flatbread I’ve ever had. But the real winner was the grazing hot dog.(If you can’t tell I love steak :)) Leave your previous beliefs about chicago hot dogs at the door and give it a shot. The crushed potatoes chips were a fantastic topping and the quail eggs were a suprisingly delectable taste addition that I never expected.

I came here for a quick coffee. I agree that the waitress was super nice and she tried to make my coffee taste better but it really didn’t. I got the café leche and it really wasn’t all that sweet or leche tasting sadly. They were also out of the obleas when I came. Since all the reviews are for the dogs I might come back and try that.

Si Señor Environment: 5⁄5 Clean and friendly atmosphere Food: hot dog was absolutely delicious. Bun tasted fresh, soft, and not your store bought bread. The toppings were unique & blended well together. Arrepas, my Colombian friend loved it all! Overall: my Colombian friend and I approve. Oh yea the coffee was awesome!

A unique take on street food from Colombia, which is a rare find among all other Latin establishments. I’m half Colombian and have traveled there half a dozen times. It wasn’t until January 2014 that I visited Medellin, the city known for these loaded dogs. As a Chicagoan I take hot dogs seriously and sometimes cling to the rules I was raised to follow, but the Colombian dog tosses everything out the window. The spirit here is one Americans can identify with, keep adding more until you can’t fit anything else. We stopped in last Sunday night for our first time and got some chicharrón(fried pork, I don’t see it on the menu), a couple hot dogs, a couple arepizzas, a postobon soda, a hot chocolate, and obleas(free with Unilocal check-in!). Everything was good, and not too messy if eaten carefully. Truth be told, the hot dogs aren’t the size of what I had in Colombia. These are good so you can have room to try an arepizza or something else but Rapidito should add to their menu a legit full size Colombian dog to really represent. The hot chocolate didn’t compare to what I grew up with but is still good and went well with my meal. The fried pork we started with was excellent and cooked perfectly. I’d rate 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4 is fair. I support all deserving Colombian restaurants because they are few and far between and should be embraced by the public as they are more than just coffee. Props for the art by Colombian artist Fernando Botero.

After trying out Colombian hot dogs in Miami, I was always on the hunt for them in Chicago. Finally I discovered Rapidito offers a really similar option, if not identical. On a Sunday afternoon, I decided to give this place a try with a couple of my friends. The restaurant is quite small, but it didn’t seem to be a problem because there wasn’t much customers dining in. One of my friends and I decided to split an order of the Hawaiian Oinker and a Colombian hot dog. The Hawaiian Oinker is sliced white bread topped with pineapple, smoked ham, cheese, avocado, and potato chips drizzled with pink sauce. I enjoyed the different flavors and textures of this dish. The sweet and savory gets me all the time. The Colombian hot dog(cheese, pulled chicken, potato chips, ketchup, mustard, pink sauce, honey, pineapple sauce, and a hard-boiled quail egg) on the other hand, was a disappointment. The hot dog was a lot smaller than the ones offered in Miami, but the most important part was the taste wasn’t on par. The Colombian hot dog had no balance between the dog, bun, and sauces. All I felt like I was eating was a bun with sauce slathered all over it. Another disappointment was that the chips were soggy and taste kind of stale. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed with Rapidito. Prices were kind of expensive for small dishes and the service wasn’t the best because their employee didn’t know how to work the credit card machine for over 10 minutes. It was just way too much trouble and out of my way for just average food.
