This is the first time that I’ve seen a red robin setup as a fast food restaurant. It was interesting experience. The food came out fast, I got a jalapeño bacon burger, it tasted a lot like a whopper with a sad excuse of guac dabbed on… it was good, but not the normal quality and taste I expect of a red robin fell short. So if your craving a burger and are tired of Mc Donalds or Burger King, RR is a good place. I just don’t know if I would do this fast food style RR. SIDENOTE: they lock the bathroom and you have to request a key from the counter. Something I didn’t know and waited 30 minutes(while eating) for the person I thought was in to come out. then finally after eating I wet to the counter and found out it was locked and you needed a key from them. so hope this tip helps!

Absolutely fantastic experience. The food was great and the staff were very friendly. Carlesha at the register and everyone else was great. Y’all just made a regular, repeat customer. Will be back very soon. Thanks!

Went here after the rush hour; way after the rush hour on a weeknight. They were still open and were going to be opened for another 2 hours so what I’m going to describe, there is no excuse for it. I thought by the looks of it and that it being a part of Red Robin’s, I’m not entering a lousy McDonalds. Lifeless robots are working the counter chit chatting with their colleagues while customers are waiting to place order. The burger is actually placed worse than how McDonald’s packages theirs. McDonald’s is actually known for poor man’s go to. Not that I’m rich(nor am I poor) but just wanted a decent damn burger. What I got was something I’d not even give to a begger. Certainly not going here again. For the experience, quality of burger and everything else, I think this is so overpriced.

Pretty bad. Grease odor from kitchen so strong it permeated our clothes and burned our eyes. Loads of far better burger joints in Loop and Chicago. Staff was super friendly, but the product is less than mediocre. Save your money.

I can’t write a review actually… They don’t have a Vegan burger when the restaurant has them and this place says that they have everything that the restaurant has… NOTTRUE.

So let me get this straight. I can get a vegan burger at the Red Robin in Liberty, Missouri but I can’t at the location in downtown Chicago? #stupid If you’re vegan, don’t waste your time.

Definitely not value for the money. Onion rings alone are$ 2.49 and they only give you 4 rings. Dropped almost $ 15 for a combo that was delivered to my table rather quickly. If you want something more affordable with basically the same concept, just walk around the corner to Wendy’s.

They really don’t have meals/combos! Ended up paying $ 14 for drink, fries and a just-ok burger. Burger was too salty, egg was over done, bacon was soggy. The fault is on me for not listening to the Unilocal reviews… Never going back there again. For $ 14 there are tons of much much better options for lunch!

Went there randomly one evening because I was hanging out in the loop, starving, and wanted to try something new. Just took their Gourmet cheese burger, it was fine, not an exceptional burger, but I liked it — better than in lots of similar burger places.

Gross, mushy, salty burger that falls apart. I had a stomach ache after the«Gourmet» cheeseburger. The quality is just low.

A close approximation of the real thing; good enough that dropping $ 10 instead of $ 15 on a meal makes this a good experience overall. I had a mushroom hamburger with fries. This came with so many mushrooms that I think by weight, there was more mushrooms than beef, and I really liked that! A few compromises were made to get the burger out the door faster. I don’t think the meat patties are as thick as they are at the real Red Robin, so you should read that into the fact that they assume you want two meat patties by default(and for the record, I never do). There wasn’t as good a char on the meat as I think I normally get from Red Robin, and the bread was sesame but wimpy. The fries were decent. Some limp ones in the bunch and overall very unseasoned. I wonder if I can dust them with more of the awesome spice stuff on my way out the door – that would resolve this problem quite nicely. If you are craving a burger, though, Burger Works isn’t terrible, and saves you some dough compared to a sit-down place.

I almost always eat at places that offer some kind of deal, discount, promotion, etc; but today was one of those very rare exceptions. Basically, this is a counter service Red Robin concept restaurant with an abbreviated menu. They offer maybe 15 different types of sandwiches plus a few side orders and beverages — and that’s about all. This location is very small, and can accommodate maybe two dozen people packed cheek-by-jowl on a couple of small tables and a very tight counter along the perimeter window. There were about a dozen people in line ordering food, all the tables and counter seats were occupied — and this was at 11:15 am! Obviously, this is not gourmet food, nor is it healthful; but this was an exception to my usual dining out routine. Prices seem high — maybe because this is in the Loop, or maybe because I(painfully) had no discount deal. We had one BBQ chicken wrap, a mushroom burger, one order of fries, and two drinks — and the total was $ 23.25(including the downtown Chicago sales tax). I really can’t recommend this specific place due to the sardine can environment and the high prices. After all, I really don’t like to pay so much for a non-remarkable meal deal.

It was my first time eating from this restaurant and I was thoroughly disappointed. I normally do not Unilocal chain restaurants, but I made an exception. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. I asked for no cheese and no mayo. It came with cheese, the burger was cooked to medium and the bacon was RAW, talk about PISSED. I took the raw bacon off and cooked the burger more when I got home. I also ordered fries and a drink and spent $ 12.12. GETITTOGETHER!!!

Steak fries @$ 2.19 are delicious. I think they’re well done and reasonably priced. Though others might argue that they need more seasoning salt. I found that it’s more of a personal preference than anything else. Cheese burger @ $ 5.49, which comes with fire-grilled patty, tangy relish, pickles, onions, shredded lettuce, tomato, and mayo was good. My only complaint was that I took it to go and somehow the bun got super soggy and the burger ended up falling apart. It was definitely filling and tasty, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary. One of the main reasons we went here for lunch was because the Red Eye had a Buy One Get One Free coupon.

Went here with of my friends. Bacon cheeseburger is always tasty. Crisp lettuce was also good with the tomato and the mayo. Much perfect than I imagined. The chili cheeseburger was also great with the cheddar chipotle mayo was good. Great place for burgers.

If I was taste testing an actual Red Robin restaurant burger compared to this Red Robin Burger Works burger, never in a million years would I guess that they come from the same parent restaurant. Extremely small burger patties that are extremely overlooked that just ruins the whole juicy-burger experience. It tastes more like Wendy’s than anything else. Gourmet cheeseburger: noting special. Very small burger patty, overlooked/slightly charred or burnt, topped with tomato, red onion, pickle, lettuce, mayo, and a bun. That’s it. Bacon burger: very small patty with the exact same ingredients mentioned above plus a slice of bacon. Steak fries: these were good and actually tasted like the real Red Robin fries. Sweet potato fries: these were okay, slightly sweet like the batter used to crisp these fries may have had some sweetener in them. Large portion and the Thai chili ketchup was good. Just not anything special really.

Y’all come aboard the mighty Shovel of Sodium Express, only this train ain’t a free ride whatsoever. I realize I’m a little picky about the blatent overuse of sodium, despite salt being a flavor enhancer. But this Red Robin takes the stuff to a royal extreme which is beyond ridiculous! I swear one of their patrons is going to have a heartattack at one of their few chairs in this used to be a Jamba Juice. Thought I’d give it a fair shake since it’s close by. That was probably a big mistake when the aroma of the Atlantic Ocean oozed from closed doors across the street. I ordered a Tavern Double Burger and their infamous steak fries. I guess that’s almost a steal(these days) at $ 7.71, although sans drink, since none looked enticing, and the last thing I needed was a sugar laden milkshake to go alongside the potential salt and grease bath. First, between the WWIII battle of special sauce, SALT, grease, ground beef, salty American cheese, the brioche bun was soggy, the tomato slices glistened and the«crisp» lettuce was anything but crisp. They could use a week old head lettuce piece, and I wouldn’t know oherwise. Now for the steak fries. Supposedly, the«steak» of the fry is supposed to be less greasy than typical fries because there’s more potato and less«fry.» Not so at RR. These folks found a way to hide their overabundance of grease and the love of lotsa salt. Both those nasty ingredients overpowered anything resembling a potato. Clearly, a McDonald’s Big Mac would be a much healthier/tastier option. So…if you love SALT and love GREASE, please patronize this joint so that another business doesn’t go belly up in the Loop. On the other hand, if you like real food, and like to taste your food, elsewhere is the only way to go. Thanfully, there’s a lot to choose from in the neighborhood. I’m giving this RR2 stars for their staff — some of the nicest, friendliest people you’ll find working in the food industry. Antione never stopped smiling and made sure he got everyone’s order right. If it weren’t for the awful food, staff deserves 5 stars.

Red Robin… Yuuuummmm! That jingle kept resonating in my head when I walked by, so I decided to check this place out for lunch. I think it’s more so of a suburbanite chain, but now there’s going to be 3 locations in the city. I spent most of my morning reviewing the online menu(slow day)…only to find out they have a more limited menu at this location. Guess there’s a difference between Red Robin Burger Works and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers. No worries though because at least one of the burgers I wanted to try was on the menu. I went with the Burnin Love Burger(Fried Jalapeño Coins, Fire roasted Salsa, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and mayo). Burger wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be, but still juicy and delicious. Also a pretty decent size for $ 7.00. I was expecting to pay a lot more after viewing the online prices, but it seems as though there pricier burgers aren’t offered at this location. I couldn’t decide between the famous steak fries or sweet potato fries, so… I got both Steak fries weren’t seasoned that great to me, but I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries. I’m not a huge fan of ketchup but the Thai Chili Ketchup they came with was pretty good. Probably won’t be coming too often since the calories of my meal today came to 1831(maybe next time just one order of fries), but a pretty filling meal non the less for $ 13.00. As always with new places there was quite a line, but it moved pretty fast(no worries though nothing compared to the line at Shake Shack). Welcome to the Loop Red Robin!
