I question your ability to effectively lead a revolution if you can’t be bothered to simply state the operating hours of your book store on its website.

AWESOME selection of books, they carry used books as low as 50 cent. I believe this is a CIA operated cult but that won’t stop me from going by, its definitely worth it.

I checked out RB ’cause I was looking for some Womanist Literature and, well, it’s an acquired taste. So, I get there and walk right into the middle of a very serious discussion. It takes me back to my philosophy major days — «Empirically…Evolution…Restraints of Religious Dogma… Confusion». I had flashbacks of grimy philosophy nerds looking like creepers with those Nietzsche-esque mustaches and Fall Out Boy skinny man-pants. [Shudder]. On some, skinny man-pants are workable, but if this is not your ministry, gentlemen, I’m gonna encourage you to find another way to show the world that you’re ‘the angstiest of them all’. I just wanted to find a book. I tiptoe my way around and find a seat(thanks to growing up in the church, you never dip out on someone speaking — unless they’re out-of-pocket, that is). Anywho, I stay until the end of the discussion and end up falling into another, more personal one — this time on the meaning of an Obama presidency to Black women, on polarization, on how to ensure the changing of social order past simple inversion — It was a pretty cool experience. It loses a point for the awkwardness factor, a half point for some pretention that all the vocab seems to give off(don’t blame me, blame etymology), and another for not having my daggone book! Other than those caveats, lovely.

A great political bookstore, aside from the cult around their party and its Chairman. Great place to pick up certain varieties of leftist literature and political buttons and paraphernilia. Just don’t get suckered into any screenings, c.d.s, chats, or study groups about Bob Avakian.

Very nice bookstore run by some of the nicest people that I have ever met. I used to live above the store for about 4 years. The bookstore is sponsored by the Revolutionary Communist Party, run by Bob Avakian, and is one of many across the country. The store has a lot of progressive political books, magazines and literature. All of the material is not limited to Communist literature and you can by mainstream political books by authors such as Moore, Franken and Nader here. They are very involved in political activism and always have a great setup at Printer’s Row. They do push books geared toward their cause and Bob Avakian, but they are knowledgeable about American and global politics and will help you find what you are looking for in the store. They also have posters, patches, stickers, buttons, etc. Surely worth checking out if you are in the neighborhood.
